Pierce Through the Deepest Darkness[2]
Zephyro is a Lord Ravager of the Antimatter Legion and an Emanator of Nanook, the Aeon of Destruction.[2]
Description[]
Some Doctors of Chaos even theorize that his Destruction is a form of resistance. They believe he is a Self-Annihilator summoned by IX, refining fading colors into blinding white light to defy the shadow of the Aeon. His devastation has been known to bleed into the dreams of the Nihility pathstriders, leaving searing marks on their waking flesh.
Many believe Zephyro's targeting the Nihility. One Self-Annihilator once described a nightmare: At the end of all things, with nothing left to destroy, a Lord Ravager hurled himself into IX's divine corpus, followed by a single, violent beam of white that pierced the endless dark.Profile[]
Zephyro was originally a human being.[1] According to the List of Archenemies, he is a one-man army driven by a passion for violent destruction. He is obsessed with raw power and the beauty of things in the moment just as they are destroyed. He also possesses an extreme passion for doomsday scenarios.[4]
Zephyro is widely considered to be the most frightening Lord Ravager, with some believing that out of all the Lord Ravagers, a meeting with Zephyro is the most fortunate because it grants a painless death. Some Doctors of Chaos have hypothesized that Zephyro's path of Destruction is a type of defiance towards Nihility, and that it is highly likely he is a Self-Annihilator. Zephyro chose to sharpen the faded colors into an ultimate white light; on occasion, his Destruction is reflected in the dreams of Nihility Pathstriders, leaving on their waking bodies burning wounds. A Self-Annihilator trembled as they recounted their nightmare: at the endpoint where nothing could be destroyed, Zephyro flew into the body of IX, wherein a beam of violent white color followed, penetrating the endless darkness.[2]
Appearance[]
Zephyro appears as a humanoid with a black body wrapped in white cloth, which float haphazardly around his waist, chest and arms. His head is covered by a white sheet, which hides his true appearance. He is armed with a long black sword, and behind him float five white rectangles made of an unknown material, which extend on the left side of his body as if they were a wing.
History[]
Numerous instances of sudden and catastrophic devastation are attributed to Zephyro:
- The ignition of the sun of New Bethlehem, whose surface was turned to glass by the immense radiation, an event prophesied by the Heliobus Keralum.[5] The same thing happened in the Patrevia asteroid belt, which was turned to glass by Zephyro.[6]
- A massive cyclone that devastated the ecosystem of Aedirn.[4]
- Drilling straight through Moonshield's outer shell, launching an attack on the planet's core and destroying the entire world.[4]
Zephyro was also spotted at the Tia'nua galaxy, and according to the Mourning Actors, the galaxy has been completely destroyed.[7]
Acheron learned of Zephyro's attack on a group of planets from a Sin Thirster, who described the assault as "a spot of light" that "dimmed the star," leaving behind only a despairing white that engulfed both entropy and time. When Acheron arrived at the site of the attack, she discovered a white hole amidst the stellar debris.[8]
At the end of the 33,550,336th eternal recurrence of the final cycle of Amphoreus, Phainon attempted to create a logical vulnerability in the "Worldbearing" track, but was eventually defeated by Zephyro, who had arrived to test his flames on THEIR behalf,[9] leading to him being merged by Irontomb.[10][11][12]

Trivia[]
- Zephyro appears to be associated with white holes, theoretical astrophysical objects that are the inverse of black holes. Unlike black holes, which trap everything that passes through their event horizon, white holes are thought to expel matter, energy, and light.
- In an alternate possibility foreseen by Elio where the Astral Express went to Patrevia instead of Amphoreus, Welt and Zephyro would have eventually fought, leading to the rupturing of the cosmos and the crew's implied deaths.[13]

- Zephyro shares the same English voice actor, Sean Chiplock, with Diluc in Genshin Impact.
Etymology[]
- Zephyro is a combination of Zephyrus, the god of the West Wind in Greek mythology, and pyro.
- 焚风 Fénfēng literally translates to "burning wind," and in meteorology means "Foehn wind."
