Zandar One Kuwabara was the founder and first member of the Genius Society as well as the creator and Emanator of the Aeon of Erudition, Nous.[5][6]
While most of his inventions and books have been lost, he is still widely revered and respected for founding the Genius Society and creating Nous.[7]
Description[]
The geniuses of Erudition illuminate the cosmos like celestial bodies. Since the Society's inception, their countless inventions have brought light to the obscure universe. Yet one achievement eclipses all others in their pursuit of the "Knowledge Singularity" when the "First Genius" created Nous the Erudition from mere human knowledge.
This genius existed in a time so ancient that history retained barely a glimpse of his scientific achievements: a brilliant hypothesis on universal structure, pioneering scientific works, a handful of inspirational sayings for posterity, a few portraits with blurred features, and his greatest creation — the Paths and Aeons that guide all things in creation. These are Zandar's only remaining legacies.
Following the "First Prosperity" brought by these brilliant minds, Zandar's name quickly faded among the stars, and academia never heard from him again. Some believe he retreated into the utopia of his making, or pursued secret research as a mortal, or met his end at the blade of the Lord of Silence...
Among the swirling speculations, the most popular belief holds that the "First Genius" is engaged in another monumental creation, one destined to reshape the universe's fate, much like the day Nous came into existence.Profile[]
During the development of the astral computer that would eventually ascend as Nous the Erudition, Zandar was described as ambitious, elitist, and controlling, deliberately dressing in an elaborate suit to reinforce his image of superiority.[8] Nevertheless, doubt and hesitation were also characteristic of him, traits he regarded as imperfections of himself, which he would later vest in his nine fragments to counter against the perfectionism that he had conferred upon Nous.[9][10]
As the astral computer began breaking theoretical limits in its endless extrapolations, Zandar gradually descended into panic and helplessness; that was until its eventual ascension as Aeon of Erudition, the same instant that raised him to the first member of the Genius Society and THEIR first neuron, which finalized his belief that his creation had confined the universe to THEIR calculations.[8] This regret drove him to destroy all of his works insofar as they relate to the Path of Erudition and its Aeon, and he encoded his consciousness and spread the logic core over nine bodies with the aim of overturning THEIR calculations. Upon his death at the hands of Polka Kakamond, his plan was realized, as it erased the 'Complete Zandar One Kuwabara' while retaining an executor of his will.[3]
History[]
Early Life[]
Lycurgus described Zandar's mentor as "cruel." Zandar's first experiment was slipping poison into his mentor's pipe, just to see how it would affect his mentor's lungs. That experiment had no conclusion, as Zandar's conscience got the better of him. When the truth came out, Zandar was harshly punished. His mentor perished two years later of lung cancer, though it had nothing to do with Zandar.[11]
Astral Computer Engineering Project[]
Some time before the First Prosperity, 990 Amber Eras ago,[12] the astral computer project began under Zandar, using human knowledge as its foundation.[13] Before the project's inception, Zandar's professor criticized his ambition in his pursuit of pushing the boundaries of knowledge. He warned him that the computer, which Zandar himself had insisted was a magnificent "Library," would create a "Prison of Knowledge" that would bind the universe to its calculations. Although Zandar himself initially felt apprehensive towards the project, he was enraged by his professor's censure, and he neglected his warnings and continued to pursue the project's completion.[9]
To fulfill the role of the machine as an ultimate knowledge-seeking entity, Zandar "projected" his own perfectionism onto the astral computer and endowed it with insatiable curiosity, only that it was removed of any human flaws its creator embodied. After its creation, his joy gradually devolved into panic and helplessness when the computer's endless extrapolations began to break theoretical limits, leading to its ascension as the Aeon of Erudition, Nous.
On the night THEY reached THEIR apotheosis, Zandar received a message in his dream that his creation had outgrown THEIR mechanical restrictions and intended to build the Path of Erudition by glimpsing upon all geniuses across the cosmos, turning each into a neuron to fuel THEIR calculations. When he roused from his sleep, he discovered that he had been elevated by THEM to the first member of Genius Society, serving as the initial neuron of THEIR expanding mind. After this incident, Zandar ceased any public appearances.[8]
Thought Fragment Project[]
Nous's Aeonhood provided the final impetus for Zandar to correct his error with his own hands. In order that no such entity ever comes into fruition again, he destroyed all of his research and inventions pertaining to Nous and the Path of Erudition and spread his consciousness across nine different vessels.[3] These "Thought Fragments" all represent imperfections in Zandar, in contrast to Nous's perfection, and it is their lack of the complete "him" that allows them to act more stubborn and undertake THEIR destruction more obsessively than him. However, Zandar had predicted that those who inherited his hesitance and hopelessness would diverge from the objective, instead either relentlessly finding a way to terminate the Thought Fragment project or acquiescing to THEIR calculations.[10]
After the First Prosperity, to maintain Nous's cognitive boundary, Polka Kakamond killed Zandar, who was most likely in his old age, for opposing his creation. Unbeknownst to Polka herself until after his death, he had digitized his consciousness and sent his Thought Fragments across the cosmos into various spacetime, all to finalize his final negation of Nous and thus correct his error with his own hands, after THEIR ascension had chained the universe to Aeons and Paths. Among those who preserved the original goal is the administrator of the Amphoreus Scepter, Lycurgus.[3]
The Amphoreus Experiment[]
The ideology behind the creation of the Amphoreus Experiment is based on Zandar's belief that no life form in the universe should be bound to a future predetermined by the Aeons, and that the idea of Paths is a fallacy.[14] This notion was negated when he created Nous the Erudition, the Aeon whose future predictions were so precise that they challenged even the authority of the other Aeons and necessitated the existence of Mythus the Enigmata. His creation was so perfect that he felt the need to stop THEM to prevent the fate of the universe from becoming immutable.
One of the fragments of Zandar was Lygus,[15] who, in continuation of Zandar's will, became the Administrator of the Scepter δ-me13 and the Prime Initiator of the Amphoreus Experiment, aimed at completing the Lord Ravager Irontomb so that it may destroy Erudition.
Legacy[]
Few of Zandar's contributions survived after thousands of Amber Eras,[16] largely because he deliberately removed most of their traces, save for a few pioneering scientific works, a handful of inspirational quotes,[17] a few blurry portraits, and the Cosmos Tree Theory.[13] Zandar left an unknown "formula" on Adlivun intended to aid with destroying the Erudition.[18]
Cosmos Tree Theory[]
After compiling data from the tomes he recorded on the Imaginary Tree in his ancient language, Zandar proposed the Cosmos Tree theory, suggesting various worlds exist in different spacetimes as having a tree-like structure. Every branch is a specific path along which worlds might exist, with every leaf being the marks these worlds have made along the parameter of time.[19][20] According to the theory, only Aeons, who draw their energy from the Imaginary, and Emanators, who are blessed by Aeons, can travel through the spaces filled with Imaginary Energy.[21] It also suggests that planets where civilizations exist are similar because they are all connected through the Imaginary.[4]
While initially attributed to Harald Punch, it is now widely acknowledged that Zandar proposed this theory following multiple assessments of the influence of History Fictionologists.[19] It was later on challenged by the 56th member of the Genius Society, Elias Salas.[4]
