Dialogue[]

(First interaction)
Yueyuan: Sigh, my team and I have guarded Scalegorge Waterscape for over two hundred years, but we still have to witness it crumble to pieces in the end...
Yueyuan: When will the Cloud Knights withdraw from this place and restore its sanctity!?
Icon Dialogue Arrow You don't seem to be in the best mood?
Yueyuan: That's putting it lightly. But then again, which Vidyadhara would be in good spirits after witnessing the desecration of our holy site?
Icon Dialogue Arrow What are you muttering about?
Yueyuan: You are... an Outworlder seeking medicine from the Alchemy Commission? You're too late. There's no cure to be found at all anymore, only those Cloud Knights sticking out like a sore thumb.
Yueyuan: Hmph, first there was the bloody conflict against the Denizens of Abundance. Then the Sedition of Imbibitor Lunae almost shook the Ambrosial Arbor to its core... And now those clowns from the Disciples of Sanctus Medicus have turned everything into a steaming hot mess!
Yueyuan: When I signed up with the armed forces, I took an oath to defend the Alliance. After retiring I became a Pearlkeeper, vowing to protect my compatriots during their hatching rebirth. But looking back, what did I actually protect? Truly... longevity is a curse.
Yueyuan: Hey, look at me — once I start complaining, I can't stop. I've grown far too talkative in my old age, so please forgive me. Do you have anything that you'd like to ask me about?

(Subsequent interactions)
Yueyuan: How sad. How sad! How does that Vidyadhara elegy go again... "Pass like a dream out of sight and mind, six hundred years in this mortal bind"... Ha, simply wonderful.
Yueyuan: Mmmm, (Trailblazer)? How'd you find the time to come hang out at this wasteland? Anything going on?
(After completing Adventure Mission Searching for You: Idle Sips)
Icon Dialogue Talk The Lunarescent Depths have become significantly more tranquil.
Yueyuan: With the cycranes now on patrol, those who used to release animals into the wild there have stopped coming.
Yueyuan: That said, it's created another issue. Lunarescent Depths is a key site for Vidyadhara cultural outreach, and now even regular visitors and tourists are being turned away.
Yueyuan: We need to upgrade the recognition algorithms of the cycranes to accurately identify potential disruptors.
Icon Dialogue Talk I'd like to have a chat with you.
Yueyuan: Alright. I've been a Pearlkeeper here for over two hundred years. I know everything there is to know about this place, so you can ask me anything you want.
Icon Dialogue Talk What kind of place is Scalegorge Waterscape?
Yueyuan: Everything you see before you has been part of the Vidyadhara homeworld for eons. But as we migrated, we've transplanted parts of our homeworld to some of the Xianzhou Delves.
Yueyuan: One of which is Scalegorge Waterscape, and the waters of the ancient sea it sustains are intimately connected to the blood of the Vidyadhara aboard the Luofu. Be they the Preceptors or the regular Vidyadhara folk, all will step into the waters at their end to be transformed into Vidyadhara eggs and undergo their hatching rebirth.
Yueyuan: Do you understand now the significant [sic] of this place in our hearts?
Yueyuan: It's a shame that the Cloud Knights moved in after the Disciples of Sanctus Medicus rebelled. These Knights replaced our Pearlkeeper patrols in the name of "keeping the peace." Alas, our myriad of complaints amounted to naught.
Yueyuan: I heard that the Arbor's resurrection was caused by someone plunging a Stellaron deep into the Scalegorge Waterscape waters... Hmph, thinking things through, some Vidyadhara may also have been seduced by those Disciple devils. It won't be long before the Seat of Divine Foresight comes after the Preceptors, will it?
Icon Dialogue Talk What do Pearlkeepers do?
Yueyuan: Pearlkeepers are... an ancient profession. When Vidyadhara molt into eggs, they have no protection from the outside world other than their eggshells. That's why the Vidyadhara have historically bestowed the role of Pearlkeeping upon their young and strong.
Yueyuan: It's the most wondrous sight in the cosmos to ride across the tides on a starskiff, marveling at those pearly Vidyadhara eggs as they glow in hibernation.
Yueyuan: Speaking of which, the Pearlkeepers aboard the Xianzhou Fanghu are different from us. The Fanghu's high elder governs over all the citizens, and the Six Charioteers of the Six Commissions all support the high elder.
Yueyuan: That's why the Pearlkeepers aboard the Xianzhou Fanghu formed an elite force that have basically replaced the role of Cloud Knights there.
Yueyuan: A long time ago, I had the pleasure of meeting a Pearlkeeper from the Xianzhou Fanghu named Linxi. Her cloudhymn magic was superb, almost transcending into the realm of artistry.
Yueyuan: Alas... If she'd been at Scalegorge Waterscape on that day, perhaps the Vidyadhara wouldn't have suffered such terrible losses... It's a real shame how many "what ifs" there are out there...
Icon Dialogue Talk How is Scalegorge Waterscape these days?
Yueyuan: I've only just retired. I heard that during all the turmoil, many Vidyadhara eggs got cracked... Many of my brothers and sisters got harmed by those devils of Sanctus Medicus... Those hateful scoundrels!
Yueyuan: Alas, us Vidyadhara have no parents, no reproductive process, and are forever stuck in the cycle of our hatching rebirth. Every death and every destruction of a Vidyadhara egg is an eternal loss for our species.
Yueyuan: The day I heard the news about the Arbor's resurrection, I picked up my tidal trident — the weapon that we Pearlkeepers use — and ran back to Scalegorge Waterscape to try and give as much support as I could.
Yueyuan: When I got back, I witnessed three Sanctus Medicus devils surrounding a lone Cloud Knight. The three disciples were fellows of my own race, but had somehow been mutated into horrific forms...
Yueyuan: The three of them stabbed into the knight with their claws. And as if sucking away his life, the knight's face instantly grew old and gray.
Yueyuan: I didn't dare hesitate, so I... I took action. I used cloudhymn magic to direct my weapon at those three and I... I struck them all down. They won't have another hatching rebirth ever again.
Yueyuan: Our people's creed states that those stained with the blood of a fellow Vidyadhara are punished for all eternity. I don't know whether I should be punished, or whether I could earn an exemption?
Yueyuan: These days I can't stop thinking about this all the time, but I can never get over it. That day, did I really have to take up arms and...?
Icon Dialogue Exit I'll stop bothering you for now.
Yueyuan: All good, it's no bother at all. Any time you want to chat, just come and find me. I usually can't find anyone to talk with about this stuff.
