Youci (Chinese: 游辞) is an NPC aboard The Xianzhou Luofu. It can be found in Exalting Sanctum, in front of Spare Time Book Shop.
Profile[]
Youci is a pet parrot of Mr. Xiyan, given to him by a mysterious woman.[1] It operates the Pure Fiction game mode.
It claims to be a creation like the Trailblazer. It wants to prevent the cosmos from trending toward its own destiny/inevitability/conclusion/single fixed system/predestined harmony.
It never engages in a dialog with people except the Trailblazer. It tells stories based on historical events but with fabricated information. When the Trailblazer hears its stories, it feels like a real fight.[2]

Dialogue[]
- Youci: (Trailblazer), would you like to hear a story? I've got many more stories I could tell you.
Listen to "The Chronicles of Youci."
- (Open Pure Fiction menu)
Enter "Priceless Jewels."
- (Open store menu)
Do you have any stories that aren't so "intense"?
- Youci: I've got lots of other stories, but they're just not ready for this universe. I can tell you the stories, if you'd like — you just won't be rewarded for it.
- Youci: But seeing as you're so curious, then why don't you give this story a listen...
- (Version 1)
-
- Youci: Deep in the cosmos lies a doomed outpost city called Belobog, enveloped by a blizzard for several Amber Eras now. Historical records show this to be inexhaustible coldness summoned through unspeakable means by one of the Architects to repel an assault by the Antimatter Legion.
- Youci: But now, the blizzard has subsided as fast as it came. The city has become warm and vibrant, and life has started to return. Some say that it was several heroes who, in some way, managed to revive Belobog.
- Youci: But in fact, this was all foretold by the Lord Ravager Celenova just prior to her legion being wiped out by the blizzard. A "seed" was planted beyond the blizzard by the Lord Ravager, dormant until the next chance to rule the world.
- Youci: While the people of Belobog were lost in the joy of the revival, someone suddenly noticed the frozen Voidrangers started to reawaken, assembling into formations upon whatever remained of the Snow Plains.
- Youci: The seed planted by Celenova had begun to sprout. She drove away the blizzard and melted away the ice, allowing those Voidrangers, once eternally frozen, to reawaken to exact cold vengeance.
- Youci: The Voidrangers dropped to one knee, swearing fealty to their feared leader as they chanted together her devastating name:
- Youci: "Pitch-Dark Hook the Great!!!"
- Youci: Our story ends here for now, because nobody could survive to see what "Destruction" followed. I hope you've enjoyed this unknown slice of secret history.

- (Version 2)
-
- Youci: Even after many Amber Eras, the citizens of Belobog will still harken to the trial of the era: the trial of Bronya the Usurper by the acting Supreme Guardian, Pela.
- Youci: The circumstances behind this case are indeed bizarre: The incoming Supreme Guardian came back from the Snow Plains, claiming that the previous Supreme Guardian, Cocolia, had betrayed Belobog — and thus summarily got executed on the spot.
- Youci: On the scene at the time, those who could testify that what Bronya said was true included cadres from the resistance movement and some aliens with outstanding warrants. Besides those, there were two people absent who were also witnesses, however; the fallen official stripped of power by Cocolia, and her little brother.
- Youci: Scarcely anyone was willing to believe Bronya's nonsense, because each of the witnesses had their own motive for wanting to kill Cocolia. She was quickly vanquished by Pela, who staged a grand trial to determine the fate of Belobog.
- Youci: During the trial, evidence mounted up and the veracity of Bronya's claims started to become verified. Were normal procedures to be allowed, a provisional military court should be able to reach a deliberation within a few months or so.
- Youci: But division among the general public and interest groups competing with each other meant the court had no time to reach a conclusion. On the seventh day of the trial, civil war erupted.
- Youci: Perhaps during the trial, most people had already figured out that Bronya wasn't lying. But once things reach this stage, the truth no longer holds any water.
- Youci: Once IPC intervened with mediation and brought Jarilo-VI into its trading network, many of those in-the-know came to regret it. But what could be done now?
- Youci: This is one page in a chapter on the modern history of Jarilo-VI. I hope you've enjoyed it.
- (Dialogue ends)
- (Version 3)
-
- Youci: Almost everyone knows that the General of the Luofu is Jing Yuan. But only a few know about the other person actually making the decisions and controlling the Luofu. Jing Yuan is merely a general to fool the public. It's that secret shadow general who is really running the show.
- Youci: This person is someone who always keeps their cards super close, hiding in plain sight at the marketplace. Everyone takes her for just a powerless peasant living hand to mouth.
- Youci: Naturally, this is the most secure option. Be it an Abundance Emanator or a Lord Ravager, it was impossible to accurately determine the identity of this shadow general.
- Youci: The shadow general was a skilled diviner, but would not stoop to using the art for personal gain. In her estimation, seeking luck and avoiding misfortune is what mediocre people do. If you want to win big, you have to bet big — and not be afraid of losing.
- Youci: For example, on that day an alliance was formed to assist the Intelligentsia Guild in purging abominations within a star zone. While attempting to break through the Wingweaver blockade, Fu Xuan — the Luofu's master diviner — believed that because their rallied forces were superior they should assault the weakest link.
- Youci: But the shadow general countered: "No, we should assault their most strongly defended part." Fully aware of the shadow general's hardcore nature, none of the Six Charioteers dared raise any objection.
- Youci: Only Fu Xuan inquired, trembling with trepidation: "Esteemed Qingque, the enemy is well-prepared. If we attack a strongly defended garrison in haste, our forces risk becoming surrounded..."
- Youci: The shadow general smiled as she flitted a jade tile between her fingers, and said: "Oh, Fu-Fu — let's make a bet. I bet there's no bullets in their guns."
- Youci: It turns out bad blood between the borisin and Wingweavers had completely collapsed logistics supplies for this mercenary legion.
- Youci: The "weakest link" was actually their only remaining strength, while what seemed to be the most heavily defended part was actually where all the scattered remnants of the officers lurked in a vain attempt to deceive the alliance.
- Youci: It's a great pity that General Qingque was never willing to show her face in public. Her wisdom and power went unknown for so long, that in the end she could only become an urban legend.
- (Dialogue ends)
I've got a few questions I'd like to ask you...
- Youci: Please, ask away.
What exactly are you?
- Youci: Just like you, I'm a creation.
What do you want?
- Youci: Just like you, I prevent the cosmos from trending toward its own destiny/inevitability/conclusion/single fixed system/predestined harmony.
Why do you only talk with me?
- Youci: As mentioned, you impel the tides of the cosmos.
No further questions.
I've got something else to do.
- Youci remains silent.
