Welt: There's still so much to explore in this snow-covered extinct world. If you didn't see it for yourself, it'd be really hard to imagine.
Mr. Yang seems to crave adventure...
Is it boring aboard the Express?
Welt: I don't care if you laugh, but I once lived eight boring years like this. Just a straight line from home to work and back again, working from nine to five. I once thought I could live that way forever.
Welt: But, just like you, I left my home for my own reasons and boarded this Express. As the journey unfolds, that blood-boiling feeling from the heat of the battle gradually returned to me...
What kind of world did Mr. Yang come from?
Welt: It's a beautiful planet, with distinct seasons, splendid mountains and oceans, and a habitable atmosphere.
Welt: But it's also a planet haunted by a power known as the Honkai, constantly playing out cycles of destruction and prosperity...
What was your profession, Mr. Yang?
Welt: An animation artist.
Welt: Your expression... What? Is it really that surprising?
Welt: Having a career you love in a peaceful world is the dream of many people.
Why did you leave your home?
Welt: For no particular reason...
Welt: Just to fight alien invaders from beyond the sky. An... old friend and I embarked on a journey to end that threat once and for all.
Invaders... The Antimatter Legion?
Welt: The invaders I was dealing with was an alien race known as "the ones above."
Welt: You know, there are many civilizations scattered throughout the stars. Some are no less dangerous than the Antimatter Legion.
Welt: Travel for long enough, and you'll be sure to bump into an alien species or two. That's when you'll understand many things cannot be resolved through peaceful negotiations.
Welt: The only way to guarantee complete protection of someone you care about is through combat.
This old friend... I think Himeko mentioned them before.
Welt: Hmm? Himeko did? Looks like she's not that mad, then...
Welt: This old friend had already left the Express. I hope he can find what he is looking for on his journey.
Pom-Pom: Mr. Yang, please go to the star rail stabilization system and complete inspections...
Welt: (Trailblazer), the conductor has plans for me. I have to go to work.
Welt: Hope your mission goes smoothly. By the way, thank you for sharing all your adventures with me.
(Talk to Welt again)
Welt: I'm so sorry, but Pom-Pom is cracking the whip again.
Welt: If time permits, I hope you can chat with me more about your adventures on that planet.
(Continues to regular dialogue options)
(Regular dialogue)
Welt: You should record anything interesting you come across during your adventures. In the end, they might just become important points of conversation.
There's something I want to ask.
Welt: What do you want to know? I will do my best to answer your questions.
About companions...
Welt: About everyone on the Express? Who would you like to know about?
Welt: Haha, she's the owner of the Express. We joke around calling Pom-Pom the conductor, but everyone knows Himeko is the boss.
Welt: It all started with her encounter with the Astral Express, and they haven't been apart since then.
Welt: She's... extremely passionate, like a burning sun. However, she remains mysterious most of the time. Once in a while, you feel that she's burning herself out trying to accomplish her dream.
Welt: Only someone like her is worthy of the Astral Express. I think Himeko's vision of her whole life revolves around... a very important dream.
About Pom-Pom...
Welt: To be honest, I don't know when Pom-Pom appeared... I think it was before I came to the Express? No wait, maybe it was after...
Welt: Pom-Pom is like the spirit of the Astral Express. Whenever anyone on the Express needs help, they will appear immediately. It would be ill-advised to underestimate them.
Welt: Pom-Pom is terrifying when they get angry... Yes, terrifying...
Welt: Dan Heng is a lonely child. He may appear distant and cold, but his heart is kind. Perhaps, he's the way he is today because he spent so much time on the run. Sometimes, he reminds me of myself when I was young...
Welt: He used to work at the Xianzhou. We don't know what he's running from. He once told me that he didn't know either. All he knew was that something was chasing him and that he had to run.
Welt: So he boarded the ship of a troupe called the "Mourning Actors" and escaped the IPC. After a while he made his way to the Express, and he's stayed here longer than anywhere else.
Welt: Don't worry, no matter who or what wants to hurt Dan Heng, we won't let them. Those who dare attack members of the Astral Express should be prepared to suffer the wrath of me and Himeko.
Welt: Did Himeko tell you about March 7th? She was trapped in ice, floating through space. We happened upon her and rescued her.
Welt: It was a unique type of ice known as Six-Phased Ice — a substance that adheres to Imaginary Law, meaning that external forces cannot change its form.
Welt: Whoever sealed her inside the Six-Phased Ice... No matter who it is... did so either to protect or banish her. I believe she had been floating through space for some time.
I have another question...
About Welt...
About Welt's past...
Welt: My past? Sorry to disappoint you, but I'm just an ordinary white-collar employee.
Welt: Back home, I worked as a concept artist at an animation studio.
About Welt's powers...
Welt: Long story short, my powers come from an older acquaintance. You can say I inherited his mission and will.
Welt: I can mimic anything as long as I understand its principles, which is useful for work. As for black holes... that's an even longer story.
Welt: I'll tell you about it some other time.
About Welt's friends...
Welt: My friends are far away... I hope to find a way back home with the Astral Express' help. People are waiting for me to go back, after all.
Welt: But this isn't something that can be solved with impatience. There aren't many ways to travel between worlds, and the Astral Express has graciously accepted me.
Welt: I've asked Madam Herta to send a signal to my home. If my family receives my message, they will know that I am safe.
Welt: Now, my friends are the Express, the Crew... and you, of course.
About Welt's enemies...
Welt: Enemies? I've taken care of my past enemies.
Welt: I want to protect the beauty of this world from those that follow the path of Destruction.
I have another question...
About the galaxy...
About the history of the galaxy...
Welt: There are many gaps in the history of the galaxy, which extend far beyond the limits of human cognition. Moreover, the Aeon Enigmata is going around destroying precious historical records everywhere.
Welt: It is said that there was a huge gap in the records between the birth of the universe and when Aeons appeared. During that time, strange existences known as Leviathans roamed.
Welt: However, Leviathans disappeared when the Aeons were born. Legend has it that Oroboros the Voracity was the last remaining Leviathan, but no one knows if that's true.
Welt: The most ancient Aeon, Qlipoth, gave birth to the Interastral Peace Corporation. From then on, we have the modern history of the galaxy — but before then, the records are incomplete.
About the Aeons...
Welt: Oh, I love this topic! Honestly, what are Aeons?
Welt: I once confused the enemy of my home with the Aeons, but I soon discovered the two are different in nature. An Overlord in the Antimatter Legion can incinerate entire star systems, while their Calamity Vanguards are perfectly capable of destroying a planet by themselves.
Welt: Aeons are so powerful that they're near invincible. Long before the Destruction existed, a swarm disaster from the Propagation spread through the stars, and the war between the Abundance and The Hunt has also ruined many worlds.
Welt: At least one rule is certain: Aeons can only operate according to their Primum Mobile. For example, we won't ever have to worry about the Harmony stirring up a storm.
Welt: The concept of factions might be too big. If a faction is all about "coming together for a common purpose," then even the Astral Express can be considered as one.
Welt: There are almost a hundred factions involved with the Aeons. Some faithfully follow the Primum Mobile of the Aeons, while others have twisted the concept of the Paths to the point of absurdity.
Welt: As a history buff, I would prefer to study the birth, development, and transformation of the factions rather than the Aeons. The factions represent the roads human beings chose out of faith and benefit.
Welt: For example, how did the followers of Qlipoth the Preservation become the Interastral Peace Corporation? If you think about it, you'll discover it's full of dark humor.
About the Paths...
Welt: We still need to study the nature of the Paths. For now, we can only describe it as a "philosophical concept."
Welt: It is a part of the Imaginary element, the metaphysical aggregation of the spirit. When specific conditions are met, an intelligent being will completely take over this part of the Imaginary.
Welt: These intelligent beings are called Aeons and the energy THEY possess is called Paths. Aeons are free to use THEIR Paths' energy however THEY please, but are also bound by it.
