The Verdant Knights, official designation Verdantia Fleet, are an elite unit of Cloud Knights mainly comprised of Foxians under the direct command of the Arbiter-General of the Xianzhou Yaoqing. The Verdant Knights of the Yaoqing are said to be as valiant as the Borisin Wolftroopers.[1]

Description[]

The Foxian warriors of the Verdant Knights are rumored to often rescue worlds ruled by the borisin. These foxians born in "fallen territories" have mixed bloodlines and occasionally produce individuals exhibiting atavistic mutations. The borisin use them as vanguards in battle and as cannon fodder to delay attacks by the Xianzhou Alliance.

These war slaves possess strength and speed on par with the borisin but their mutations deplete their life and sanity until they become bloodthirsty monsters. When they lose their will to bestial fury, their gauntlets become shackles that bind their hands. The Verdant Knights recruit from these foxians and give them a chance to fight back against the borisin.

Even if their swords broke and their bows snapped, without any weapons left in their hands, they could still fight to the death relying solely on the sharp claws on their bionic gauntlets integrated with the body.[1] They are known for riding Yaoqing starskiffs into battle as loyal partners who are capable of aiding them in eradicating abominations.[2] Their fighting style is described as bold and sweeping.[3]

The Verdant Knights wear porcelain armor said to be light as wind and strong as steel while in flight fighting against their foes, allowing them to withstand the borisin's claws and biotech weapons. The eagle helmet of the Verdant Knights, modeled after the ferocious bird "Dafeng", had two pairs of auxiliary eyes, ensuring clear vision of their surroundings under any lighting conditions. They also had combat boots fashioned after talons that allow the wearer to swiftly dash onto the battlefield like the wind, effortlessly traversing through thorns and rugged terrain.[4][5][6]

The symbol of the Verdant Knights is Flying Aureus, the Spiritus bestowed upon the Arbiter-General of the Yaoqing by the Reignbow Arbiter.[7]

History[]

In the year 8072 Star Calendar, during the Third Abundance War, the Xianzhou Yaoqing and Xianzhou Fanghu alerted the The Xianzhou Luofu about the assembly of the Denizens of Abundance, the revival of Ketu Mirage; the roaming star and their attack on the Fanghu. The Luofu dispatched four brigades of Cloud Knights to help them fight but they were still facing defeat. Diviner Fu Xuan came up with a plan to use the Xianzhou Yuque's Cloudpeer Telescope to call Reignbow Arbiter.[8]

The Reignbow Arbiter then descended onto the battlefield and annihilated the borisins' fleet using their Lux Arrow, During the course of this battle, the Xianzhou Luofu lost over 63,000 fighter jets and over 120,000 pilots, and nearly one-fifth of the Xianzhou Fanghu's delves are destroyed by the Lux Arrow's bombardment. The extent of the damage to the Yaoqing's forces is unknown, however, General Yueyu of the Yaoqing leading a unit of Verdant Knights were among those perished in Lan's bombardment as she was in the vicinity of the Cloudpeer Telescope. Sometime after, Feixiao took up office.[9][10]

In recent history, the Verdant Knights were dispatched by General Feixiao to follow a route mentioned by Luofu Sky-Faring Commission Helm-Master Yukong and discovered the wreckage of Amicassador Tingyun's Whistling Flames ship. Unfortunately, there were no survivors, and no cargo, but they had discovered Genius Society #81 Ruan Mei had arrived on scene beforehand.[11] The scouts of the Verdant Knights also sent back reports that borisin were making trouble again. The borisin packs that were once divided and scattered had started swallowing each other up, forming larger and larger packs. Moreover, they had found that an entity named "Mangas" was behind it all.[12]
