The clone army of the "Swarm King" Tayzzyronth. With the sole purpose of "propagation," it invades various planets in the universe — similar to a locust swarm.

Loading Screen: The Swarm

The Swarm is a faction in Honkai: Star Rail. They are the remains of the Aeon of Propagation, Tayzzyronth, and appear in the form of flying, four-winged insects.

Description[]

"Human desires are complex... twisted... and even ugly. By contrast, the aesthetics of the Swarm and Legion are so pure. It's... admirable."

— Some scientist, before he went mad

Life is born of an instinctive desire to reproduce, and the senses and spirit are only unintended byproducts created when carrying out the basic instinct of reproduction. Those who don't submit to their primal desire claim to be wise, unaware that they are already considered food for the offspring of Tayzzyronth, the Aeon of Propagation, the Father of the Swarm. The multitudes of the Swarm King's offspring can cover the starry night, their antenna long enough to measure the cosmos. Worlds fearfully call the self-replicated chaos as — The Swarm.

Spirit, soul, technology, philosophy... In the thousand compound eyes of Tayzzyronth, the universal laws pursued by all intelligent races are but a side effect of the ultimate goal of reproduction. The Swarm doesn't seek a following by higher races, for "worship" itself is an unnecessary desire. Only the flying creatures that succumb to the primal instinct will be attracted to the self-replicating primordial tide, transforming to be part of the Swarm after becoming its food.

Even without their god, the Swarm continues expanding at an incalculable rate, bringing fear and disaster to worlds chosen as their nests.

Known Species[]

Sir Duroy, a member of the Intelligentsia Guild, explored the starry seas and authored the thirty-volume of the Chronicles of Interdimensional Insects. The book provides detailed records of over a dozen confirmed species of lepisma and countless subspecies spanning across the stars.[1]

True Stings[]

True Stings emit fibrous particles from their wings during flight — the inhalation of which can induce perceptual distortions and hallucinations. These visions feed on people's subjective experiences and long-term sentiments in order to take the form of what they personally desire.[2]

  • Swarm: True Sting — Mature True Sting
  • Lesser Sting — Youngling of True Sting
  • Juvenile Sting — Youngling of True Sting
  • Giant Sting — Can reach tremendous proportions and is big enough to swallow an entire starnought[2]
  • Gnaw Sting — A subspecies of Stings that underwent mutations during reproduction
  • Silver Sting
  • Swarm Mother
  • Afterglow Sting

Some units of the Swarm have transformed into ground combat units. They have sacrificed flight for colossal size and hardened carapaces. These units often serve as the shock troops of the Swarm Invasion, using their massive bodies to break through defenses.[3]

Swarm Kings[]

Swarm Kings were high ranked descendants of Tayzzyronth.

Starcrusher Swarm King: Skaracabaz[]

Starcrusher Swarm King: Skaracabaz was a giant lepisma that was ascended to be Emanator of the Propagation and inherited the mandibles of Tayzzyronth. It can collect in its mouthparts the death ray that fragmented celestial bodies, and make shattered stars incubators for procreating offspring. It was once one of the nightmares across multiple worlds during the Swarm Disaster. A synthetic form was later created by Ruan Mei, though it died 56 seconds after breaking out of its incubator due to not being able to sustain itself.[4]

Afterglow Swarm King[]

Afterglow Swarm King was mentioned in the Curio Ancient Communications. During the Swarm Disaster, a group of bounty hunters that pursued worker bugs captured lone Afterglow Stings and modified them into frontline communications devices. With varying levels of stimulation, pheromone sensors that ignore distance would cause the insect to change color in real time and allow for simple information exchange. With this secret code, the bounty hunters became more and more courageous on the battlefield, until they came face-to-face with the Afterglow Swarm King attracted by the pheromones.[5]

  • Knowledge: The Swarm When the Silver Sting Swarm lands on a planet, it looks like glittering snow has fallen. After every battle, I look back... and see the ice-cold remains of the cavalry in the swirl of silver fragments.
