Takamagahara (Japanese: 高天原), also known as the Takama Divine Realm, was one of two planets that circled a "pitch-black great sun."[1][2] The other planet was Izumo.[3]
History[]
Little is known about Takamagahara. Hakuhatsu Ki remarked that in times past, Takamagahara was surely as beautiful as Izumo.[2] The description of Izumo's Blades of Origin and End states "Takamagahara endless like Izumo, for it was a paradise perfect in its place."
One day, the kami of Takamagahara descended to Izumo for the sole purpose of killing its people. In order to fight back, the people of Izumo forged Edict Edges from the remains of the kami and used their power against them. The wielders of these blades could draw upon the divine power of Takamagahara by reciting the mantra contained within.[4] Humans who drew upon Takamagahara's power were eventually transformed into oni by it.[2]
Though the war against the kami came to a halt, Takamagahara and Izumo had already begun sinking into the Shadow of IX After Acheron defeated Hakuhatsu Ki in a duel, both planets were completely destroyed by Nihility.[2][5]
