The star rail, also called the silver rail[1] or star tracks,[2] is a network created by Akivili, the Aeon of Trailblaze, that connects galaxies together via a mysterious mechanism.[2] It is the means by which various people travel between different worlds in Honkai: Star Rail.
Description[]
According to legend, the Astral Express itself is a key component in laying down the star rail network. Laying down new tracks of the star rail generates a large amount of fuel for the Express, much more than the normal amount of energy obtained from trailblazing expeditions.[3] The safe routes that major interstellar factions, including the Interastral Peace Corporation and the Xianzhou Alliance, travel upon are all based on the star rail.[2] Presumably, all locations that the Express can travel to are connected to the star rail.
Stellarons obstruct the star rail by disrupting the flow of Imaginary Energy, which makes Interstellar Travel dangerous and unpredictable.[4] Due to the danger posed by Stellarons, the Nameless have taken upon the duty of dealing with them.[5]
History[]
The star rail was originally constructed about a thousand Amber Eras ago,[6] during the First Prosperity in 1168 AE.[7]
During the end of the Swarm Disaster, Express Navigator Capy Baba helped revise the star rail map, which is still used and maintained in the present day.[8]
When the appearance of Stellarons started to obstruct interstellar travel in 2147 AE,[7] the star rail deteriorated, which eventually led to the abandonment of the Astral Express. The Express lay dormant for many years until Himeko found it and repaired it.[9] As the Express embarked on its journey once again, Himeko and her crew began repairing the star rail, re-establishing access routes between the stars.[7]
Present[]
Following the Astral Express' adventures on Penacony, the Memokeeper Black Swan suggested that they solve their fuel problem by connecting the star rail to Amphoreus, a world that had never been visited by Akivili.[1]
