The Sky-Faring Commission is one of six commissions of the Xianzhou Alliance.
Description[]
Overview[]
The Sky-Faring Commission is in charge of affairs related to Xianzhou's internal airspace and interstellar navigation. All matters related to aviation, navigation, and trade fall under their jurisdiction, as well as starskiff maintenance. On the Luofu, it is headquartered in the Palace of Astrum under the oversight of Helm Master Madame Yukong, who leads the commission. Numerous guilds under the Sky-Faring Commission's administration conduct trade and bring in business for the Luofu. Starskiff Haven, the official entrance of Luofu and its largest port, is also governed by the Sky-Faring Commission.
The Xianzhou Alliance communicates with each other via the Yellowbell system, and its resonances are presumably received by each ship's Sky-Faring Commission.[1] On the Luofu, Yellowbell resonances are personally reviewed by Helm-Master Yukong and her secretary Xikui.[2] Surveillance and intelligence reports are also sent and received between ships.[3]
Trade Guilds[]
Currently, there are seven trade guilds affiliated with the Luofu Sky-Faring Commission: the Whistling Flames, the Celestial, the Securocrat, the Goldstream, the Plainfeather, the Firefly, and the Aquaglider.[4]
Whistling Flames Guild[]
The Whistling Flames guild is led by Amicassador Tingyun. Its scope of trade is various products for refinement. In addition to industrial processing materials, the guild also handles farming products, breeding, and transformations. It has the fastest and safest bio-transport vessels in the galaxy.[4]
Celestial Guild[]
The Celestial guild is led by Amicassador Yanming. It handles trades of art and literary products.[4] This guild is not one all-encompassing body, but rather a consortium of many smaller guilds.[5]
Securocrat Guild[]
The Securocrat guild is led by Amicassador Changqing. Its scope of trade is various weapons and military products. Any export of military technology must first be approved by the Sky-Faring Commission.[4]
Goldstream Guild[]
The Goldstream guild is led by Amicassador Changwen. This guild handles the import and export of medical and health-related products. Based on the Sky-Faring Commission Trade Management Regulations, any pharmaceutical products not included in the trading allowlist must undergo inspection. Offenders are strictly prohibited from trading with the Luofu.[4]
Plainfeather Guild[]
The Plainfeather guild is led by Amicassador Zhiyao. Its scope of trade is various starskiff-related products. In addition to starskiff exports, this guild also provides after-sales modding services for starskiffs so that they match various different lifestyle and cultural themes.[4]
Firefly Guild[]
The Firefly guild is led by Amicassador Yunling. Its scope of trade is various goods within the Xianzhou Alliance network. This guild gathers specialties from all over the galaxy onto the Luofu: the Zhuming's porcelain, the Fanghu's marine products, the Yuque's jade abaci, and various other specialties from other Xianzhou vessels.[4]
Aquaglider Guild[]
The Aquaglider guild is led by Amicassador Zhongchu. Its scope of trade is various secondary-industry products, such as agricultural by-products, raw chemical and textile materials, and more. This guild undertakes trades for almost all industries, and owns a huge fleet of spaceships. They are the largest of the seven guilds aboard the Xianzhou Luofu.[4]
History[]
Yueyan was the Helm Master of the Xianzhou Yaoqing's Sky-Faring Commission during the Year 5700 Star Calendar.[6] He witnessed Muldrasil's total destruction by the Antimatter Legion while the Alliance stood by and observed, as it aligned with their creed of eradicating abominations. Yueyan was shaken by the overwhelming death and destruction and proclaimed that he had to re-think the long-life species' purpose in life. He later left his position, and after witnessing Shuhu granting life to the long-dead planet Rahu, became the first master primus of the Disciples of Sanctus Medicus.[7]
During Qingying's tenure as Helm Master of the Yaoqing, the Sky-Faring Commission sent a delegation containing Baiheng and a dozen others to request for arms and reinforcements from the Xianzhou Zhuming, for the Yaoqing's Heroncrest Fleet, who were occupied with fighting the borisin. They were recieved by General Huaiyan's apprentice, Yingxing, at Radiant Zenith and escorted through by the Flamedisk Forge Palace. There, the delegation met with Huaiyan, who was willing to allocate three hundred fighter jets, twenty thousand thunder crossbows, and twenty thousand devastator glaives in response to Qingying's request for reinforcements, but only a dozen or so personnel.[8]
Following the Third Abundance War in Year 8072 Star Calendar, the Fanghu adopted self-preservation policies to recuperate from the damage inflicted upon them, and even briefly stopped issuing new travel passes. As a result, they cut off most of their regular communications and trade with the other Xianzhou ships. This decision was made by the Fanghu's High Elder, Glaciator Marum. After the new travel policy was put into place, the ship opened up to visitors once more.[9]
In Year 8098 Star Calendar, the Fanghu transmitted through the Yellowbell system that they were currently moored at the Lanadi star system in the Tlaltecuhtli. The Yaoqing reported several victories against abominations in different locations. The Yuque sent their surveillance reports to the other Helm Masters, the Xuling reported "Business as usual here," and the Zhuming reported that they were currently moored in the Le Roy Ladurie cluster's Stella Yamazaki star system, inside the territory of the Klimt Republic.[2]
