Lyndon Skott is a mission-exclusive NPC on The Xianzhou Luofu. He appears in Aurum Alley's Hustle and Bustle and Saga of Primaveral Blade.

Profile[]

Skott is one of the Interastral Peace Corporation representatives stationed on the Xianzhou Luofu. His experience in the IPC has taught him that he has to abide by the rules, at least on the surface. He is seemingly proud of the corporate culture however he is secretly relatively dissatisfied and resentful toward the IPC. Despite this, he enjoys the elevated status of being in the IPC and uses that status to bully others below him. Under his proud and arrogant facade, he sees himself as a heartless and cruel individual.

Story[]

Lyndon Skott is a representative of the Interastral Peace Corporation stationed on the Xianzhou Luofu. He was noted to have been raised by his father to be as unscrupulous, selfish and crafty as possible, a trait which carried on with him virtually throughout his entire life, backstabbing virtually everyone from colleagues to his relationship interests to even his own father. The Skott family crest is the "Lone Wolf," and their family motto is "No enemies. No friends. Only prey."[1] He later joins the IPC and works non-stop in an attempt to get a promotion.

Skott is first encountered by the Astral Express at Aurum Alley, where it is discovered he and the IPC are attempting to wrest control of the Alley for their own gain; taunting the Astral Express team, he places a bet with the Crew stating if the merchant guild fails to pay back all the money owed to the IPC, they would have to apologize to all the residents of Aurum Alley and bark and howl like a dog while on their knees, with Skott himself stating he would do so if he lost the bet. Believing that the Crew would never be able to achieve such a task, Skott and his subordinates gleefully leave and also attempt to sabotage deliveries to the Alley in an attempt to hinder the Crew. This plan would ultimately amount to nothing with the Crew managing to gather and present evidence to the merchant guild that he and his subordinates were intentionally sabotaging deliveries to the Alley and proving that not only was all money paid back to the IPC, the Alley had also made a profit; as a result Skott loses the bet. Skott attempts to weasel his way out of the bet but is stopped by Sushang, before he proceeds to apologize to the Alley and bark and howl like a dog while on his knees to an increasingly angry crowd and is then escorted off for his conviction.[3]

Skott would be encountered again by the Astral Express some months later on the eve of the Luminary Wardance Ceremony. Skott was responsible for an IPC transport ship that was carrying Howling Caskets, which was attacked by borisin pirates near the Luofu. After the ship was rescued by the Zhuming's diplomatic ship, the Sky-Faring Commission attempted to inspect the cargo, but Skott refused as the technology was patented. The Trailblazer, March 7th, and Yanqing arrive at the scene, and Skott recognizes the Trailblazer to his consternation. After an argument, Lingsha arrives and intimidates Skott into allowing the inspection. The Howling Casket in the cargo attacked the bystanders and was defeated, after which Skott swore he had no idea why that happened.[4]

Soon after, after March 7th decided to train in swordsmanship, she and her two masters Yanqing and Yunli discover him ranting at Mengming about the quality of her tea. Offended by this, March 7th steps in to help Mengming. Believing IPC technology is far superior than swordsmanship, Skott places another bet with the Astral Express, stating they would have to grunt like a pig if they could not beat his mechs after a fifteen-day swordsmanship training session; following the fifteen-day training session, Skott is defeated once again.[5] The way Skott is defeated in this story is player-determined:

  1. If March decides to simply fight Skott using her newfound swordsmanship skills, Skott's mechs will be destroyed, causing him to lose the bet and forcing him to grunt like a pig and humiliate himself and the IPC to an increasingly angry crowd.[6]
  2. If March asks Huohuo for help, Tail enters Skott's mind and rips out his most twisted desires, leaving Skott essentially feral and behaving like a wolf, howling and attempting to bite his subordinates as they flee in terror.[1]
  3. If March asks Qingque for help, Qingque proceeds to talk down Skott by talking of his workaholic tendencies, leaving him a crying mess at the end; this forces Skott to rethink his life priorities, later vowing to offer a genuine apology to Aurum Alley and Mengming after regaining his composure.[7]
  4. If March asks Jiaoqiu for help, Jiaoqiu tricks Skott and his subordinates into drinking soup which is laced with a "Hearty Valley Brew" laxative added by Moze, although this is done without March's permission; when March and Skott do duel the brew takes effect, causing his subordinates to suffer from diarrhea and run in pursuit of a restroom. Skott stubbornly stays behind to try and oversee his mech's fight but he too suffers from diarrhea and soils himself. Skott compliments March on her seeming usage of underhanded tactics, much to her displeasure, and soon afterwards he is rendered essentially catatonic and has to be carted off by IPC employees.[8]
  5. If March asks Silver Wolf for help, Silver Wolf modifies March's sword with a virus to allow it to infect Skott's mechs, allowing her to hack into the mech and use it to defeat his subordinates before stating that she had access to some of Skott's potentially embarrassing files and details due to the way the files were stored. Silver Wolf then proceeds to order Skott to grunt like a pig to the tune of the SoulGlad jingle.[9]
