Lunarescent Depths is the Vidyadhara's sacred site. To suppress the Ambrosial Arbor, the Vidyadhara sealed the Arbor's roots in this delve millennia ago.
It is the delve that encompasses the Lunarescent Depths, an ancient sea transplanted from the home world of the Vidyadhara.
Everything in Scalegorge Waterscape has been transplanted from the home world of the Vidyadhara. The waters of the Lunarescent Depths are intimately connected to the blood of the Vidyadhara aboard the Luofu. Regardless of social or political status, all Vidyadhara step into the waters at their end to be transformed into eggs and undergo their hatching rebirth.[1]
The roots of the Ambrosial Arbor are sealed underwater here, a feat first undertaken by Yubie, the 91st incarnation of Imbibitor Lunae.[2] Though Yubie was praised for quelling the Arbor, many Vidyadhara loathed this positive depiction of him: from their perspective, he offered up the precious sacred realm from their hometown and the Ichor Lines they took pride in all for the sake of staying with the Alliance.[3]
A VidyadharaHigh Elder from millennia ago commanded the waters of the ancient sea to engulf the Arbor's roots. The Luofu's Vidyadhara had been shouldering the duty of keeping watch over the Ambrosial Arbor ever since.
The dragon's roar echoes, and the whirling clouds twirl. The sea opens its maws, as the dead Arbor sprouts. Hindered by the seal, the Ambrosial Arbor's roots curl into a dragon-shaped wood gall at this place, and no longer grows.
The high elder statue worshiped by the Vidyadhara for generations. An outworlder once claimed to have heard the whisper of an Aeon here, saying: "Climb up and have a look."
The high elder statue worshiped by the Vidyadhara for generations. It looks a lot like a friend of yours. When will it be your turn to have a statue made and worshiped to?
The high elder looks dashing while holding a spear and riding on waves. Surprisingly, this design has gone through countless iterations and only prevailed over the mediocre "standing straight" design by one vote.
Supervised by the Vidyadhara artisan, Congyan. High elder statue series, Yubie prototype "Royal Decree Ancient Sea Design" 001. Price and launch date to be determined.
After seeing the high elder statue yourself, you realize there is no truth in the rumor saying that "A swallow once bit off the eyes of the high elder statue and threw them into the ancient sea to revitalize the waters when they were on the verge of drying up."
Vidyadhara Eggs
Vidyadhara egg
This is a Vidyadhara egg formed from a dying Vidyadhara. Inside the egg, all of the Vidyadhara's memory will fade away, and all wounds suffered in their previous life will be healed before being reincarnated again.
Vidyadhara egg
The glimmer of the crystal-clear Vidyadhara egg catches your eye.
A small webbed hand can be faintly seen inside, lightly pressing against its pearlescent and translucent shell. You press your fingers up against the outline of the small hand, your touch only separated by the crystal shell.
The ancient sea's waves sway. Someone whispers their vows to you in your ear. The light at the end of the starry sky shimmers, and you sink into the warm and intoxicating river of love...
That is the memory of a Vidyadhara's past life, soon to flow away as does water down a river.
Vidyadhara egg

The egg is nestled atop a hulking shelf of coral, like a child dozing in its cradle.
You gently place your hand on the crystal shell, and a dream bubble blooms near your ear. In a moment, you understand that the child in the pearl desires to become a painter who creates brilliant paintings.
Is this an old dream from before its rebirth, or an as-yet unfulfilled aspiration? You are unsure. Perhaps soon, this dream will fade away with the flowing water.
Vidyadhara egg
Beneath this crystal clear and luminous egg, a glimmer catches your eye.
You reach out your hand and see a tiny pearl, so small and minuscule compared to the shimmering egg. The pearl reminds one of a tear shed from the eye of a heartbroken dreamer.
Perhaps this Vidyadhara once had something they couldn't bear to part with prior to their rebirth. But now it has become an eternal sadness, held in the palm of your hand.

You edge closer to the pearlescent shell and have a dream in which you are a Pearlkeeper who rides the waves, and travels across the ancient sea with your true love.
The time you have spent with your lover is full of happiness, but the time of hatching rebirth is determined by destiny. You secretly put a jade pendant in your mouth so that you and your lover can recognize each other in the next life.
Vidyadhara egg

You stroke the shimmering shell gently. While in a trance, you transform into a valiant Cloud Knight wielding a spear. You train hard and never lose a match in training. Impressed by your talent, your instructor recommends you as his successor.
Nevertheless, one careless move in a match changes everything. Your junior outshines and defeats you in the match. Surprisingly, the spear used for training pierces through your chest.
You sink in misery, self-doubt, and dejection... Yet, it doesn't take too long for you to move on, as you find yourself turning into a youngster riding aboard the Express on a journey through the cosmos. It is nice to be able to travel around.

You softly touch the Vidyadhara egg, listening to its barely audible whisper. Borrowing your voice, it laments about being away from its homeland. This is not home. This is not home... It was born on the Xianzhou Fanghu, ten million light years away from the Luofu.
As a Preceptor of Glaciator Marum, high elder of the Fanghu, you are one of integrity, unafraid of pointing out wrongdoings directly. You advise the high elder to unleash her wrath, and impose punishment on your peers who instructed the Sedition of Imbibitor Lunae on the Luofu.
"In that case, how about I send you to read out the sentence? Just you. Alone." The high elder's voice is as cold as her icy throne.
Just like that, you are banished to a faraway land, left alone and shunned by others. Only a girl from the Alchemy Commission warms your heart with her comforting words before you go through hatching rebirth.
Vidyadhara egg

You tap on the pearl-colored eggshell and hear the sounds of different notes. Do, re, mi, fa, so... Music, like flowing water, pours into your heart...
Suddenly, you recall the song you composed and called "Lunae Arcus." You were inspired to write this song after witnessing the high elder Dan Feng being able to command the waves in Scalegorge Waterscape.
However, you did not get to perform this song in public. After hearing about the talented and brilliant Imbibitor Lunae becoming a rebel, you flung your lute to the ground and left it broken. You vowed to never write another song in your life.
Vidyadhara egg

You hear furious roars coming from the Vidyadhara egg and move your ears closer to hear better. A thunderous sound explodes from the mouth of an abomination, and fills up the Scalegorge Waterscape delve as if a thousand swords had clashed together. Every one of your bones rattle from the deafening sound.
The abomination falls to the ground with a loud thud. You try your best to steady yourself before examining the abomination. Its semi-draconic head bears long whiskers and flowing beastly fur. You stare directly into its mercury-like eyes, sensing a hint of fear within them.
You think of running away, but there is nowhere to go. The temperature in the air drops all of a sudden, as a shadow drifts past at a speed so fast that it only leaves a misty trail.
A woman lands on top of the abominable dragon's head. Her palms hold a ray of frosty light that she stabs downward. In a split second, you see the black veil covering her eyes falling off. Her lips move slightly, and you can faintly hear her utter the word "Sorry."
That is not your imagination, as she is also apologizing to you. The next second, ice waves as sharp as knives start spreading like transient flowers in the air, freezing everything they come into contact with, including you.
Vidyadhara egg

You touch the shell of the Vidyadhara egg lightly and experience a heartbreaking sensation. Resistant to your touch, the Vidyadhara in the egg is reluctant to leave his memory behind and refuses to believe that his highly respected master has committed the grave sin of rebellion.
Roaring, he holds his sword high and charges at the Cloud Knights again and again. He can see his peers whom he used to trust, and the Preceptors whom he used to respect clearly. Their despicable faces are etched in his mind forever. He does not wish to forget
"We... will never betray Master Dan Feng!" Together with the last remaining high elder guards, he braces himself to face the incoming arrows and darkness.
Vidyadhara egg

You caress the shell of the Vidyadhara egg slowly, as a motherly affection envelops you like warm water. You remember that you are responsible for watching the Vidyadhara egg in Scalegorge Waterscape as a member of the Pearlkeeper team.
Although you are not well-versed in cloudhymn and not physically trained in combat, you are still entrusted with this honorable task. It is because you always remove the limescale and barnacles on the Vidyadhara egg when you are on patrol. Your teammates recognize your motherly love toward the eggs.
Yet, your job comes to an end when a monster covered in leaves barges into Scalegorge Waterscape. Clumsily, you wield a spear to fight the monster. You cry over the broken eggshells, and your blood pours out non-stop like your tears.
Vidyadhara egg

You nudge the Vidyadhara egg, but it does not respond. As you listen to it carefully, you catch a faint mumbling from inside that goes on and off like an ember in the ashes. It is rambling on about its dislike for water.
It yearns for ferocious fire and burning sand. It desires the heat of the forge and the singing of the anvil. Intermittently, it tells you about the research and production method of Cloud Knight weapons and repeatedly recites a song about how to recognize ores.
It claims to have come from the Xianzhou Zhuming, where the high elder of Permanence moves around in a courtyard of blazing fire, and distributes the sparks of inspiration without care. It was sent here by the high elder to teach the masters of the Luofu Artisanship Commission about craftsmanship.
One day, it will be reborn in the egg and become a male or female Vidyadhara. When the time comes, the Luofu craftsmen will have improved their skills and be able to pass back what they have learned to it. It will then be able to fulfill its mission and share its knowledge with the people in its homeland.

You gently tap on the shell of the Vidyadhara egg. It shakes nervously, and the scales on the shell open and close slightly to warn and drive you away.
It used to be one of the guards in charge of watching the Ambrosial Arbor in Scalegorge Waterscape. For centuries, the ancient tree had been quiet as though it was in a deep slumber. Taking measurements of the tree every day with its comrades bored it to death. Who would have thought that the Ambrosial Arbor would wake up on that fateful day?
Gigantic waves have swept it and its comrades away. In an urgent voice, it asks you about its comrades, but you have no answer.
Vidyadhara egg
The glimmer of the crystal-clear Vidyadhara egg catches your eye.
You extend your arm to touch the Vidyadhara egg in front of you. There are faint traces of water droplets that resemble tear stains on its smooth surface.
The icy sensation leaves you in a daze. A dense fog inches closer and slowly engulfs you... You try hard to escape, but you can't find the way out. Meanwhile, you can hear scathing comments next to your ears.
You hear a woman crying. It is a heart-wrenching scream she lets out when forced to part ways with the person she loves. In the background, the winner's desolate laughter can be heard.
You start to wonder: what is love called before it was love? While you are absorbed in your thoughts, a pair of gentle arms brush away the dense fog, allowing light to come through and dispel the gloom. A slender finger taps on your forehead and awakens you.
Vidyadhara egg

You brush the eggshell with your fingertip... One cycrane here, one cycrane there... Numerous express cycranes are flying around, making the sky look like a dense net.
You find yourself being able to tell the origin and destination of each cycrane... It is not a surprise. After all, you know these things like the back of your hand, having worked as an Express Specialist for seven centuries.
The Exalting Sanctum is large and bustling. About one hundred thousand express cycranes are always out and about to meet the needs of the city. You can recognize every single express cycrane. Just one look and you would be able to recall its serial number.
You can't help worrying whether your successor can handle the job well after you leave. Can the newcomer find their way through the maze of serial numbers and addresses, and keep the Exalting Sanctum running like a well-oiled machine?
In fact, there is no need to worry. You know very well that everyone who works for Heron Express is competent. One day, the newcomer will be able to remember the serial number of one hundred thousand cycranes, just like you.
Vidyadhara egg
The glimmer of the crystal-clear Vidyadhara egg catches your eye.
You gently tap on the Vidyadhara eggshell and experience an emptiness you have not felt for a long time. The egg seems empty, as it does not respond to your contact... Perhaps, the Vidyadhara inside has long gone.
Wait a minute. The emptiness caused by the Vidyadhara's departure is different from the emptiness exuded when they are still here. After going through betrayal and abject despair, the emptiness left before this Vidyadhara is akin to a wall of lamentation in a faraway land.
Perhaps, she had already left the egg earlier, but she was obviously not ready for the departure yet. She dragged her battered self back to the ancient sea not to set off to a new destination, but to take a break.
Sooner or later, she will go, but not now. You understand that the mere loss of memory is not enough to eliminate the pain that has seeped deeply and completely into her bones. Just let her rest.
Vidyadhara egg
The glimmer of the crystal-clear Vidyadhara egg catches your eye.
You gently touch the surface of the eggshell, and a searing and intense impact bursts out and surges right to your head through your fingertips. A hoarse and deep voice lingers by your ears.
You see a heart with odd burn marks on its dry and withered surface. The fire in the distance is burning ferociously in an attempt to devour everything. A figure pulls another figure into their arms despite the danger. In the chaos, you hear some indistinct cries that also sound like the whispering between lovers.
You think about the burnt elixir crucible that once tore the darkness apart. But now, not a single trace of light is in sight. You look down at the egg and finally notice it is not stained by the ash from the crucible, but just some dew that is somehow scorching hot.
Under your fingertips and through the thin eggshell, you hear a steady heartbeat. The wilted heart has started beating again.
Vidyadhara egg
The glimmer of the crystal-clear Vidyadhara egg catches your eye.
You raise your hand and tap on the eggshell, and a weird smell emanates from inside. You evaluate the smell and detect the scent of soil, frying oil, and rusted iron... It is hard to describe the smell as it is a mixture of various scents.
The discerning diner is perusing the menu, and you notice a line of text beneath each dish: vegetarian, keto-friendly, organic, gluten-free, grain-free, egg-free, dairy-free, free of inorganic substances, free of metallic elements, and made without artificial seasonings.
"Is this really edible?" You can't help analyzing the dish. At the same time, you hear a faint yet firm voice in your head affirming your opinion and answering your doubt. "So I tasted it."
"Does this dish taste good?" You are eager to know the answer, but the voice does not come after a long wait. Feeling confused, you check the Vidyadhara egg in front of you and suddenly feel enlightened.
Vidyadhara egg
The glimmer of the crystal-clear Vidyadhara egg catches your eye.
You stroke the eggshell gently and see a huge mirror that reflects the thousands of audiences behind you, but there is no trace of your own figure.
Of course, the mirror cannot show your reflection, because you are the greatest magician on the Luofu. This is the trick on which you pride. You are the only one in the cosmos who can make your reflection invisible in a mirror.
No, it does not involve optical camouflage, or optical refraction created by cloudhymn magic... Those who attempt to expose your magic are far less clever than you. They can never figure out how the magic works no matter how hard they try.
Now, your current life has come to an end, and it is time for you to begin a new cycle. You have lived a happy life with no regrets, but your departure will leave an eternal regret for everyone else...
They will never know how you pulled off your magic trick.
Wonderful. You believe that a magic trick is only fit to be called a "miracle on stage" when it leaves its audiences shocked, bewildered, and with a sense of regret.
Vidyadhara egg

You stroke the eggshell gently and see the strange encounter that night. The short-life species that have passed away for a hundred years shows up before you again. As she holds your hands and calls your name, the concept of time feels foreign to you.
You follow the short-life species to the place where you met each other for the first time. She starts talking without addressing your confusion. Seeing that, you set aside your doubts, as you can read the room.
Her vivacious, lovely, and elegant personality cheers you up after being depressed for a hundred years. You seem to be reliving the time you got to know her... Suddenly, you feel anxious, knowing that you should stop things from going any further.
You stop responding and try to run away. You want to stop this bizarre flashback of your memory so that you need not experience the moment you ruthlessly killed her again.
Yet, things do not pan out as you wish. You feel guilty and nervous as the end approaches. You are having a hard time breathing... Then it occurs to you that it is nothing more than a Vidyadhara egg before you, and you do not have to be the lunatic.
Vidyadhara egg
The glimmer of the crystal-clear Vidyadhara egg catches your eye.
You gently touch the eggshell and see a busy and crowded delve. It is just a normal day, and nothing out of the ordinary happens.
Streams of light shimmer soothingly in the artificial sky on the dome. The pedestrians, with different expressions, hustle to and fro on the streets. All kinds of artificial things, like starskiffs, cycranes, and Baroumbrellas are flying in the sky. You can tell they, too, are having a busy day.
The next second, you collapse on the ground and see a crashed cycrane next to you. You think you probably got hit by it.
People gather around you, trying to offer help. However, you know you are destined for a hatching rebirth after sustaining such a serious injury.
Although there is a crowd around you, most of the people choose to walk past you to attend to their affairs. As always, there is still an unceasing stream of starskiffs under the dome.
"Oh, this is just like any other day," you muse.
Vidyadhara egg
The glimmer of the crystal-clear Vidyadhara egg catches your eye.
You gently touch the Vidyadhara egg that looks like a pearl. Fear squeezes your heart like a giant hand. "Send these branches to the Alchemy Commission?" It is clear to you that the vessel you are holding contains a strictly forbidden object on the Xianzhou.
"If I get caught by the Ten-Lords Commission... I..." The vessel in your hand feels heavy. You breathe carefully to avoid dropping the vessel.
An authoritative voice comes by your ears. "Our line of succession has been broken because of a sinner. Now, here is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity." The elder's voice is youthful, but it sounds weary and emotionless.
"If you can complete this mission, you'll become a hero, and I'll guarantee you a seat in the council of Preceptors. What do you think?" You nod, then shake your head. The elder laughs eerily like a screeching owl.
