Unspecified reason
(First interaction, after obtaining Old Tin Box Old Tin Box)
Sad Woman: Are there really no iron boxes here?
Yinshu: We used to stock a novel by an Outworlder called "Iron Box." It used to be there, second shelf on the right — but it's a real shame, we've already sold out...
Sad Woman: I'm not looking for a book, but an actual iron box.
Yinshu: But we're a family bookstore here? We sell books, not boxes.
Icon Dialogue Arrow Why did you come looking for a box at a bookstore?
Sad Woman: It's all a bit of a joke. I'll tell you all about it, if you don't mind.
Sad Woman: As you can see, I'm a Vidyadhara. Before my last hatching rebirth, I met this Outworlder who claimed to be a messenger from the Garden of Recollection who could help me preserve my memories.
Sad Woman: He promised me that he'd store all of my most beautiful memories inside this Memory Bubble which he'd be keeping for me inside this iron box — and that after my hatching rebirth. I could use this Memory Bubble to return to the memories of my past.
Sad Woman: My past self left behind a key and a notebook for me. But unfortunately, there're no iron boxes here at the bookstore. so that messenger must have been a scammer... Sigh.
Sad Woman: Where on earth is that iron box?
Icon Dialogue Arrow Do you need this iron box?
Sad Woman: You've got an iron box with you? What an incredible coincidence!
Sad Woman: This might just be destiny, but this box's Memory Bubble contains all my most precious memories...
(Submit Old Tin Box Old Tin Box)
Sad Woman: Don't tell me this box matches my key exactly? Let me give it a try.
The key apparently fits, but the inside of the keyhole is severely rusted. You notice that after several attempts she finally twists open the lid — but you'll never know whether the key fit, or whether it was forced open.
Sad Woman: There's no Memory Bubble... Hang on. here's a photo... A ring... And a letter to someone.
You wait as she reads the letter. Tears stream down her face as if her most precious memories are being reaped.
Sad Woman: My past self had fallen in love with this short-life species person, but was afraid nobody would remember their love story. So she made up this caper about a Memory Bubble, hoping I could find the box she left behind. How selfish she was!
Sad Woman: And Why'd you leave it behind at a bookstore?
Yinshu: I think only our mischievous friend the shopkeeper knows.
Sad Woman: If you hadn't brought me the iron box, I'd have missed all of these memories. How about I give you this jar of Draconic Tears to you as a way of saying thanks?
Icon Dialogue Arrow What priceless treasures are these?
Icon Dialogue Arrow Aren't these just marbles?
Icon Dialogue Arrow T—Tears?
Sad Woman: It's a herbal specialty from Scalegorge Waterscape. It's usually quite pricey, but this jar of Draconic Tears here is of lower quality. I won't get much for it, so why don't you take it?
Perhaps you can swap this jar for something special, or try your luck at the Jeweler's Pagoda — I'm sure Pawnbroker Handian will fetch you a good price?
(Obtained A Bottle of Draconic Tears A Bottle of Draconic Tears)

(Subsequent interactions, after giving her the Old Tin Box Old Tin Box)
Sad Woman: Thank you. I'm heading back to Scalegorge Waterscape.
Icon Dialogue Arrow About these Draconic Tears...
Sad Woman: My family is in the pharmaceutical business, and I've brought these Draconic Tears over from Scalegorge Waterscape.
Sad Woman: As average as they may look, they're molded to look like that. I heard discerning Outworlders steeped in the Xianzhou culture like it this way, but how am I ever going to find this kind of Outworlder around?
