Ruan Mei's creations are pastry-based lifeforms created by Ruan Mei in her quest to create intelligent life. These lifeforms are generally named after their flavors or significant personality traits. There are two types of creations: cakes and buns.[1][2]
Description[]
These lifeforms were created by Ruan Mei in her research objective to create natural-born geniuses. Their physical bodies are based on pastries, while their intellect substrate is composed of equal parts "enlightenment, practice, and starquakes." Ruan Mei attempted to create lifeforms with specific traits by adding traits from specific geniuses into the intellect substrate, such as adding fragments of Herta puppets to create an "Aggressive Genius." Though she succeeded in creating sentient lifeforms, they lacked true genius,[3] and the result was deemed a failure. Ruan Mei hypothesized the most likely cause of failure to be insufficient concentration of genius traits within the subjects.[4]
Many creations yearn for acknowledgement from their creator and seek her approval. Some believe Ruan Mei will eventually return to them,[5][6] while others believe that Ruan Mei has abandoned them for good.[7][8]
Appearance[]
The cake creations appear to be catlike creatures within a cake- or tart-shaped shell. The outer shell is a sensory organ and is referred to as the "skin," while the inner cat is referred to as the "filling."[9] The bun creations resemble dumplings with two small appendages, one on each side of the head.

The Rare Creations are cake creations produced through Special Mutations, each based off a playable character.

Story[]
Herta Space Station[]
Following a lab leak incident, many of Ruan Mei's creations escaped the Seclusion Zone and scattered all over Herta Space Station. Ruan Mei employed the help of the Trailblazer to recover and return her lifeforms to the lab.[10]
Divergent Universe[]
In Divergent Universe, Ruan Mei's Creations operate the Workbench of Creation.
- Rice Dumpling, Ice Cake, and Trash Cake offer Equation Overwrite, Blessing Overwrite and Blessing Enhancement.
- Rice Dumpling, Ice Cake, and Trash Cake are guaranteed to appear in First/Second Plane Boss Domains and Respite Domains.
- Ice Cake and Trash Cake may randomly appear in Escapade Domains.
- Lambda's Friend and Wisteria Cake offer Curio Synthesis and Weighted Curio Overwrite. They may randomly appear in Escapade Domains.
