Head to the bottom of The Shackling Prison to investigate the status of the Yaoqing messenger[]
- Mission DescriptionIn the Shackling Prison, unidentified machines and prison breakers wreak chaos with impunity. Their goal is to rescue the borisin Warhead. Meanwhile, the Yaoqing messenger's fate is unknown. At the behest of Hanya, you all have no choice but to delve deeper into the Shackling Prison to confirm if the convict is still behind bars...
- At the same time, (Trailblazer), Dan Heng, and Hanya realize that the situation in the prison is out of control...
- ingenium enemies are wandering around and causing heavy casualties. Wraith Warden: Madam Hanya, the wardens in all areas are regrouping. Those
- Wraith Warden: And to make things worse, those iron wolves broke open the cages and let the criminals out! We've called for backup, but it seems like all communication is jammed.
- Hanya: Let's preserve our strength and first take down the isolated prisoners. By decree of the Ten Lords, all prison breakers and intruders shall be apprehended, dead or alive.
- Xueyi and the Yaoqing messengers, heading to the bottom of the prison. Given the situation, I'm afraid that area is exactly where our enemies are targeting. Aurumaton Spectral Envoy: Just a short time ago, the Nether Key mechanism was activated. It was probably Madam
- Hanya: We mustn't let that vile beast escape from its cage!
- Aurumaton Spectral Envoy: We've gathered all the prison guards who can still fight, and we'll split up and secure each floor.
- Hanya: Go!
- Dan Heng: Those intruders are quite bold. They must have been planning this for quite a while.
- Hanya: Indeed, but borisin tend to favor direct and aggressive approaches. Crafting careful and precise plans like this... is simply not their style.
- Hanya: Let's focus on the current situation right now. Please help me!
- Looks like the testimony will have to wait, huh?
- Like I said, wherever we go, we always end up in trouble.
- Dan Heng: What's the fastest way to the bottom of this prison, Miss Hanya? If we don't get there quickly, we'll soon be outnumbered by all the enemies inside.
- Hanya: We'll have to bend the rules. Please follow me.
- (Unlock Achievement Shackles Shattered)
- Hanya: By decree of the Ten Lords, all prison breakers and intruders shall be apprehended, dead or alive.
- Warden: Yes, ma'am!
- (Investigate mech, optional)
- Large pieces of metal scraps are strewn all over the floor. You can't put your finger on it, but you're certain that this thing is still alive. Bionic tissues are relentlessly regenerating beneath their exoskeleton.
- (Approach Aurumaton Spectral Envoy)
- Hanya: Hold your position here.
- Aurumaton Spectral Envoy: Yes, ma'am!
- (While walking)
- Hanya: We need a few tools if we want to reach the bottom quickly.
- Hanya: Follow me to the next floor.
- Go to the Transitory Hold floor
Restore the passage between the prison's floors[]
- Hanya: The path is cut off? Someone must have altered the mechanism.
- Hanya: No matter, it'll just require a bit more work to get through.
- Go to the Pyroscape Hold floor
Head to the bottom of The Shackling Prison to investigate the status of the Yaoqing messenger[]
- Artisanship Commission to navigate the treacherous terrain here. Hanya: Some spiritfarers occasionally use ingenia from the
- Hanya: Normally, using devices like the shifting screen is strictly forbidden, as they could help prisoners escape.
- Hanya: But given the urgency of the situation, let's just ignore the usual regulations.
- Traverse: To the Nether Key
Go to the bottom of The Shackling Prison[]
- Hanya: The Nether Key has been activated. I hope we're not too late...
- Hanya: Hang in there, sister!
- (Approach marked location)
- Dan Heng: Looks like there was a fierce battle here not long ago.
- Hanya: ...
- Hanya: The gate to the prison delve is wide open. Hoolay has managed to break free.
- Hanya: Where are the Yaoqing messengers, and where's my sister? Are they still alive?
- Dan Heng: Let's look around. Maybe we'll find some clues.
Look for Xueyi's tracks in the mess[]
- (Investigate warden corpses, optional)
- This warden fought to her death, and her weapon's nowhere to be seen. She must have lost it somewhere in the prison.
- You can clearly tell that the warden was serving her duty in an intense battle when she died. You reset the mask over her face and pray for her heroic soul to rest in peace.
- (Investigate borisin corpses, optional)
- Sharp fangs grew unchecked along the deceased's protruded lower jaw, bearing an uncanny resemblance to the other borisin corpses.
- You begin to see why the borisin could easily infiltrate the lower levels of the Shackling Prison. They not only shapeshifted into the Cloud Knights, but into foxians too.
- Whoever impaled this borisin from behind probably caught them off guard. It could be a judge or a Yaoqing messenger.
- These are the remains of a borisin. Judging from their twisted limbs, it is likely that this massive wolf once had their limbs restrained.
- The corpse in a Cloud Knight's armor catches your attention. They do not seem to be your average foxian, for one. This body looks like it underwent a drastic shapeshifting, one that failed to conceal the guard hairs around their neck.
- (Investigate gate to Hoolay's cell, optional)
- In the suffocating, empty darkness, an air of deathly stillness lingered about the gates of the cage that once confined Hoolay, chilling all who gaze upon it to the marrow.
- The cage should have been virtually impossible to break out of, yet even it had failed to trap the savage beast for long.
- (Investigate Xueyi's body)
- (Trailblazer): Xueyi... is here.
- Dan Heng: Miss Xueyi bravely sacrificed herself... My condolences, Miss Hanya.
- Hanya: Condolences? Well, that's unnecessary.
- Hanya: You misunderstand. Thanks to the Ten Lords' blessing, my sister turned into an ingenium centuries ago. Dying and returning as just a soul to the Hall of Karma's document office has become a routine for her.
- Hanya: While I'm not keen on seeing her throw away her body like it's some replaceable part, but...
- Hanya: By the way, have you seen bodies that might be the Yaoqing messengers? One of them is a foxian wearing exquisite clothes, and the other wears a dark cloak, like a fugitive.
- Dan Heng: ...No, I haven't found any foxian bodies, only borisin ones.
- Hanya: So, the intruders and Hoolay are holding the Yaoqing messengers hostage.
- Hanya: This is the worst situation. With hostages in their grasp, the prison guards can't do anything about the prisoners. If anything happens to the messengers, the relationship between the Yaoqing and the Luofu... could be irreversibly damaged.
- Hanya: We must rescue the messengers, get out of here, and spread the news. We mustn't give up as long as there's a glimmer of hope!
- (Hanya notices a broken cycrane)
- Dan Heng: What have you found, Miss Hanya?
- Broken Cycrane: Han... Han...
- What the heck?!
- A cyber specter!
- Broken Cycrane: Re... Reconstru...
- Hanya: It's my sister. Looks like her soul hasn't returned to the Hall of Karma yet.
- Hanya: At such a critical moment... her "death" can give us information that we can turn into an advantage.
Fix the broken cycrane[]
- (Approach the cycrane)
- Hanya: Let me see. The damage isn't too bad.
- Hanya: If I can fix it up, my sister will have a temporary body.
- (Repair the cycrane)
- Repaired Cycrane: Hanya! I-I-I'm back!
- Hanya: Welcome back, sister. I don't know what kind of expression I should have at a time like this. Happy? Tears of joy? Ah, forget it. I'm used to you coming back in all sorts of forms.
- A cyber specter!
- Xueyi (cycrane version): It's just a t-t-temporary solution.
- That's pretty convenient!
- Xueyi (cycrane version): Just don't let me be d-d-damaged again... I'll lose my m-m-memories.
- Your new form is kind of cute...
- Xueyi (cycrane version): Now is not the time for j-j-jokes!
- Xueyi (cycrane version): This cycrane can't... h-h-hold all of me...
- Hanya: Sister, what did you see when you were "killed"?
- Though intermittent in its delivery, the cycrane provides you with succinct and essential intelligence.
- Dan Heng: One of the Yaoqing messengers escaped? And the other one was taken hostage and brought upwards?
- Xueyi (cycrane version): Besides the borisin... there were... other... intruders... Invisible...
- Hanya: Invisible intruders? What does that even mean? How many conspiracies are tangled up in this mess?
- Hanya: Do me a favor, sister. The intruders have cut off all communication between inside and outside the prison, and now you're the only person... the only bird... who can slip out undetected.
- Hanya: Make sure you deliver the news to the outside world.
- Xueyi (cycrane version): I... understand. Please be careful... sister. You... are different... from me...
- The cycrane flaps its wings and unsteadily flies out of the lower levels of the Shackling Prison, charging straight into the depths of the shadowy passage
Pursue the jailbreaker's trail[]
- Step DescriptionWith the machinations of external parties, the borisin Warhead, Hoolay, a heinous criminal who had been imprisoned on the Xianzhou Luofu for ages, managed to break free and embark on a wanton massacre. The Shackling Prison was plunged into imminent peril — closing The Shackling Prison's gates just before he managed to flee was all that you all could do.
- Dan Heng: Time is running out, Miss Hanya. If we keep delaying, those borisin will escape from the prison.
- Hanya: Alright. If we happen to come across that Yaoqing messenger who got away...
- Hanya: No, stopping Hoolay should probably be our top priority.
- Traverse: To the Pyroscape Hold floor
Restore the passage between the prison's floors[]
- (Press mechanism)
Pursue the jailbreaker's trail[]
- (Investigate warden corpse, optional)
- The prison guards at the Shackling Prison may be well-trained, but they likewise suffered deaths and casualties in the face of the borisin's horrifying assault.
- (Approach marked location)
- Dan Heng: Wait, something feels off. Something is approaching us.
- Hanya: The invisible intruders?
- (Begin battle against Mara-Struck Soldier ×2, Disciples of Sanctus Medicus: Ballistarius ×1, Sableclaw Wolftrooper ×1)
-
- Dan Heng: Watch your back!
- Hanya: These abominations aren't prisoners from this prison...
- (Wave 2: Eclipse Wolftrooper ×2, Disciples of Sanctus Medicus: Ballistarius ×2)
- (Wave 3: Sableclaw Wolftrooper ×1, Disciples of Sanctus Medicus: Shape Shifter ×1, Eclipse Wolftrooper ×1)
-
- Moze: Just focus on the fight.
Restore the passage between the prison's floors[]

Speak to the Yaoqing messenger[]
- (Approach Moze)
- The man seems to materialize from the shadowy corners of the prison, as if he could vanish into thin air at any moment.
- The "fugitive wearing a dark cloak," spoken of by Hanya, now stands before you. His face is devoid of any expression, cold and indifferent, yet... inexplicably, you could decipher this expressionless facade as if it whispered, "You're finally here."
- Moze: The prison management on the Luofu is truly concerning...
- You already said that a moment ago.
- Moze: So what if I repeat it? It's the truth after all. The prison management on the Luofu is truly concerning...
- You look better when you're silent.
- Moze: ...
- Moze: Is that so?
- Hey, you're the Yaoqing messenger who fled!
- Moze: I prefer to be called "the Yaoqing messenger who strategically retreated."
- Mara-Struck Soldiers. Moze: At least two different groups of intruders infiltrated here — the wolf cubs and these
- Vidyadhara serving Caelorum Venti on the Yaoqing. What do you think? Moze: Their hiding technique... it's pretty similar to the Wind Mantle technique used by the
- Dan Heng: ...
- Moze: Well, never mind if you don't have any clues. Now is not the time to exchange assassination techniques.
- Moze: I'm Moze. My friend fell into the clutches of that wolf. I was planning to escape and report back as quickly as possible, but now it seems...
- Moze: The prison on the Luofu is a real maze, I must admit.
- Hanya: Thank you for your help, Mr. Moze. We'll do our best to ensure your friend's safety.
- Moze: No, you can do nothing for him now, and you shouldn't be focusing on his safety at the moment.
- You're so heartless!
- But isn't he your friend?
- Dan Heng: Your friend is in Hoolay's clutches, and you're just going to leave him behind?
- Yaoqing General's guard, not his. I've seen how that giant wolf fights, and there is no way. Trying to save my friend will only get us killed. Moze: Look, I'm the
- Dan Heng: ...
- Moze: I don't know how you think, but I won't throw my life away for a lost cause.
- Moze: Listen up, I've been tracking these fugitives, and I know their next move. They're planning to seal off the entire prison to keep the outside world in the dark.
- Moze: The worst-case scenario, we are all killed by that giant wolf, and the Shackling Prison is sealed off. No one will know about us or about their escape until it's too late.
- Moze: And the best-case scenario...
- We kick all those bad guys' butts!
- With an indifferent gaze, he sized you up and down. Somehow, you deciphered his expressionless face as saying, "This person's lost their mind, how pitiful."
- We trap them inside this prison.
- Moze: No, we won't be able to. We're one step behind them.
- Both we and the intruders get trapped inside this prison.
- Moze: Ah, looks like we've got some clever minds here after all.
- Moze: The best-case scenario would be, we seal the gates and trap the enemy inside with us. We can't let that monstrous wolf escape.
- Moze: Hopefully, someone will eventually notice that something is off and come to help. As for whether we'll still be alive by then, it's not something we should think about.
- Dan Heng: You sure have a way of comforting people, Mr. Moze.
- Moze: As a person of the Yaoqing, I've always searched for something meaningful to give my life to.
- Dan Heng: I have to make it out alive. My companions are waiting for me.
- Hanya: As a netherworld dweller, I've already died once.
- Well, then I'll give it my all.
- Dan Heng: Yeah, we won't give up, not until the very last moment.
- I want to make it out alive, too.
- Dan Heng: Don't worry. Even if we end up dying here, I won't let it happen to you first.
- Hanya: Well, you're just as good at comforting people as Mr. Moze.
- Are we really out of options?
- Ten-Lords Commission, so sacrificing yourselves isn't the right move. As a judge, it's my responsibility to guard this prison, and if someone should step up to stop Hoolay from escaping, it should be me, not you. Hanya: None of you are part of the
- Hanya: Once we reach the gate, I hope you'll help me seal it. After that, I'll do everything I can to fight the borisin, and you find a safe place to hide and wait for reinforcements.
- Hanya: Now, let's proceed upward!
Pursue the jailbreaker's trail[]
- (Investigate borisin corpse next to the lantern, optional)
- The borisin's large stature easily lends them an intimidating quality that stays with them even after their demise. Looking at this pile of borisin corpses would send chills down anyone's spine, for it feels as though they can reanimate and pounce onto their prey any moment.
- (Investigate Aurumaton Spectral Envoy corpse, optional)
- This aurumaton spectral envoy appears to have been smashed to smithereens with only a single strike. Hoolay likely slammed his arm in to deliver this shockingly destructive force.
- Traverse: To the Transitory Hold floor
Restore the passage between the prison's floors[]
- (Press mechanism)
Pursue the jailbreaker's trail[]
- Hanya: We must seal the entrance before the borisin fugitives get out.
- Hanya: The Prison Wardens and mechanisms won't be able to hold them for long. Follow me!
- Traverse: To the Grimfrost Hold floor
- (Note - This line seems to currently be impossible to trigger)
- Hanya: The situation is critical. We cannot delay any longer!
- (Approach marked location)
- Hanya: We're almost there! The gate is just ahead!
- (Investigate Aurumaton Spectral Envoy corpse, optional)
- Sparks continue to fizzle atop the spectral envoy's metal head. Despite having killed enemies that outnumber them, they were eventually left without the means to fight back before being wrecked to pieces.
- (Talk to warden, optional)
- Wraith Warden: There are many fugitives. Please be careful, Your Honor.
- (Idle text from Aurumaton Spectral Envoy)
- We must fulfill our duty...
- (Talk to Aurumaton Spectral Envoy, optional)
- Aurumaton Spectral Envoy: The fugitives are charging at the gate. Please be careful, Your Honor.
- (Idle text from warden)
- Mission accepted. Stop the fugitives...
- (Approach enemies)
- Borisin Wolftrooper: (Howling noise)
- Hanya: I will hold them back. Don't let Hoolay escape!
- (Begin battle against Eclipse Wolftrooper ×1, Howling Casket ×1, Sableclaw Wolftrooper ×1)
- (Approach shifting screen)
- The Shackling Prison has become a killing field. The prison guards try to resist, but Jiaoqiu can only watch them fall...
- Hoolay: A-Rraaa...
- Hoolay: This brings back such... familiar memories! Memories of chasing, gnawing, and tearing... They're back, they're back! They've all come back!
- Mok Tok: My Lord, we're just one step away from freedom. Once we pass through the gate, no one will be able to stop us.
- Hoolay: So, this hostage is useless now? Kill him, Mok Tok.
- Jiaoqiu: (He's getting away... Do something, Jiaoqiu... It's just like the old days, you useless loser... Just do something...)
- Mok Tok: Maybe this Yaoqing messenger can strike a deal in exchange for his life. He can use his status to help us escape from the Xianzhou. What do you think, Mr. Jiaoqiu?
- Hoolay: Just look at you! Fallen so low during my absence! You're even negotiating with livestock? As far as I recall, no one from the Yaoqing would ever consider a deal with Duran's offspring.
- Jiaoqiu: (I've got to... make this beast stay here... whether it's for the sake of Feixiao or the Yaoqing...)
- Jiaoqiu: Deal. I certainly have more value alive...
- Jiaoqiu: My identity, my knowledge of the Xianzhou, and my understanding of many things that your minions have no knowledge of... They'll all be valuable.
- Hoolay: Lowly beast, muster up that pitiful tongue of yours and plead for what remains of your life. Speak up.
- Jingliu... She has recently returned to the Luofu. Jiaoqiu: I'm afraid you're unaware, the woman who defeated you,
- Jiaoqiu: Your opportunity for revenge is right in front of you.
- Hoolay: ...
- Mok Tok: My Lord! This slave is talking nonsense. I've never heard anything about this! May I just kill him now?
- Hoolay: Silence, Mok Tok! And you, slave... From now on, you'll stay by my side. You'll only speak and move when I allow you to. Otherwise, I'll dismember you, from head to tail, inch by inch. Got it?
- Mok Tok: But my Lord...
- Hoolay: We must stay here for some time, Mok Tok. Fear not, because once I step out of the prison, it's the people of the Xianzhou who should tremble in fear. I'll show them what true calamity means.
- Duran's whelps! Follow me! Hoolay: Now,
- Borisin Wolftrooper: Prison guards, stop them! For our great lord Hoolay!
- Borisin Wolftrooper: (Howling noise)
- (Investigate borisin corpse next to the Space Anchor)
- These intruders possess extraodinary strength. They wield no weapons, for they are the deadliest weapons themselves.
- (Idle text from warden next to Hexanexus)
- Please stop those fugitives...
- (Approach marked location)
- (Cutscene plays)
- Cloud Knight Soldier: Report! After we lost contact with The Shackling Prison, we received a message from a cycrane...
- Cloud Knight Soldier: The prisoners have revolted, and the criminal Hoolay... is nowhere to be found!
- Jing Yuan: What about the Yaoqing messengers and the Nameless?
- Cloud Knight Soldier: No news at the moment! We're trying to restore contact with The Shackling Prison as soon as possible!
- Feixiao: I see. You're dismissed.
- Ambrosial Arbor was not the end of things, but the beginning. Feixiao: General Jing Yuan, General Huaiyan, it's just as we suspected... the rise of the
- Ruin Legion has already sown the seeds of "Destruction." From this moment on, the Xianzhou Alliance will face an even greater challenge, from both the Abominations of Abundance and the "Destruction" itself. Feixiao: The hand of the
- Feixiao: If this is what they want, I'm always up for a challenge!
- Marshal's special envoy, I'll dispatch the Luofu Cloud Knights to pursue Hoolay myself. Feixiao: As the
- Jing Yuan: Looks like the hidden dregs have finally come to the surface. And as I said before, it's time to wash them away, once and for all.
- After a brief but devastating loss of communications, the locked-down Shackling Prison is once more under control. The Express' Nameless may have emerged unharmed, but one of the Yaoqing envoys has been taken hostage.
- Meanwhile, the borisin Warhead Hoolay, long confined to the depth of Shackling Prison, has vanished without a trace.
- A pursuit between the hunter and the hunted will soon play out on the Xianzhou Luofu.
- (Mission completed)
