Rating Pistol

The Rating Pistol is a Curio in Herta Space Station's collection. It can be found in the Storage Zone F1, near the Gallery of Shadow Space Anchor. Interacting with it will cause it to "rate" the active character.

Rating Invalid

Certain characters cannot be rated by the curio, and trying to rate them results in a unique dialogue instead:

"Rating invalid!" Its eyeball swivels around three times before suddenly widening. After a brief impasse, its eye shuts, wearily.

The closed eye of this weird little gun suddenly snaps open as it swirls around for a moment, staring at you with malice.
(Investigating as Silver Wolf)
"110 points!" Reported the Rating Pistol at Silver Wolf. The voice sounded strange and digitized.
(Investigating as Aglaea)
The Rating Pistol gazes at Aglaea: "99.11 points!" it announces.
Its gaze darts around without settling for a moment. The look in its eye is serious and alert as if it's examining a completely unknown realm.
(Investigating as Tribbie)
The Rating Pistol gazes at Tribbie: "90.91 points!" it announces.
The gun's gaze sweeps back and forth with measuring intent. It seems to have gleaned answers hidden somewhere deep. "0.011 points!" It declares.

The Rating Pistol gazes at Dan Heng. "88 points?" It announces.

The Rating Pistol gazes at Dan Heng: "88 points?"
Feeling puzzled, it moved its eyeballs around and suddenly shut its eyes. It seemed to be sulking for being fooled.
(Investigating as Clara)
The Rating Pistol gazes at Clara: "70 points!" it announces.
It later added, "26 points!"
(Investigating as Fugue)
The Rating Pistol gazes at Fugue: "13 points...?"
Eyes moving at high speeds. Unbelievable. Yet, it's undeniable: "13 points!" it announced.
(Investigating as The Herta)
"4 points!" It announces. As its eyes suddenly snap open, you see a shiver of fear and uncertainty run through it: "100 points! 1,000 points...? 10,000 points...?"
Though the eye is burning with exhaustion, it pretends to be brimming with energy: "The score is limitless. Rating invalid!" Finally, it gets an opportunity to close its eye.

The Rating Pistol gazes at Cipher: "0.894 points!" it announces.
The eye scans up, down, left, and right, keenly catching every detail, afraid to miss a thing.
(Investigating as Anaxa)
The Rating Pistol gazes at Anaxa: "0.616 points!" it announces.
The eye spins without order, before eventually squinting into the shape of a crescent moon. The gun shows great satisfaction at this result.
(Investigating as Mydei)
The Rating Pistol gazes at Mydei: "0.59 point?" [sic] the gaze reveals a look of confusion and semi-suspicion.
After a while, the gun's gaze suddenly widens and its confusion is dispelled. "0.59!" it declares, resolutely.
(Investigating as Hyacine)
The Rating Pistol gazes at Hyacine: "0.35 points!" it announces.
The eye sparkles with radiant joy, as if even the dull air around has turned vibrant.
(Investigating as Cyrene)
The Rating Pistol gazes at Cyrene: "0.336 points... 0.337 points... 0.999 points... 1 point—"
The eyeball flickers between sparkling and sorrowful, as if reading through pages of incredible stories. Until, at one moment, it snaps back to reality: "Rating invalid!" The eye stops responding, gazing firmly into the distance, as if it had glimpsed the next page of the story.
(Investigating as Cerydra)
The Rating Pistol gazes at Cerydra: "0.13 points!" it announces.
The eye keeps its gaze straight ahead, emitting a subtle and almost imperceptible pride. After a brief impasse, it lowers its gaze, admitting defeat in a duel of auras.
(Investigating as Hysilens)
The Rating Pistol gazes at Hysilens: "0.129 points!" it announces.
The eye turns dexterously. "0.129 points... 0.12999 points... 0.129999 points...". The eye suddenly stops moving, gazing blankly in a certain direction, as if fallen into a bottomless void.
(Investigating as Castorice)
The Rating Pistol gazes at Castorice: "0.1 point! [sic] it announces.
Suddenly, the eye stops moving. "0.09 points... 0.4012 points... 0.7007 points..." It drowns in a sea of data, constantly updating and reset, as if time was frozen, locked in perpetuity.
(Investigating as Huohuo)
The Rating Pistol gazes at Huohuo: "0 points? 5 points?"
It sized Huohuo up for a while before it looked away into the distance with a hopeless expression.
(Investigating as Phainon)
The Rating Pistol gazes at Phainon: "...!?"
Its eyes fly wide open, trembling as it strains to sense and calculate. "Rating invalid!" Overwhelmed, the eyes snap shut, giving up on the impossible answer.

The Rating Pistol gazes at (current character): "(XX) points!" it announces.[Note 1]

Trivia

  • All characters with an "invalid" rating, aside from Sampo, are either Emanators or have some kind of direct association with an Aeon.
    • Herta[3] and Acheron[4] are directly confirmed to be Emanators.
    • Jing Yuan and Feixiao possess spirits bestowed directly by Lan.[5]
    • Luocha's coffin currently contains a fragment of Tayzzyronth's divine body.[6]
    • Phainon was previously merged with a drop of Nanook's Golden Blood, an aggregate of THEIR internal imaginary energy whose energy level and nature are similar to those of an Emanator of Destruction.[7]
    • March 7th[8] and Cyrene[9] are "Pure Children of Anāsrava," which are viewed as special Emanators of Remembrance.[10]
  • Contrary to previously released characters, all characters from Amphoreus, aside from Phainon and Cyrene who are invalid, are scored with decimals rather than integers.
