Quinn is an NPC on Penacony, located in the Golden Hour.

Profile[]

Quinn is the younger twin sister of Alley. In the past, they had a bad relationship, and Quinn was accidentally killed as Alley pushed her off the stairs.[1] To maintain life activities, Quinn is put in the Dreamscape and now works as an intern receptionist in Golden Hour. However, Alley hasn't met Quinn face to face ever since due to her sense of guilt.[2]

Dialogue[]

(First interaction)
Quinn: Hey — it feels great not having to wear this fake smile and grovel for guests all day!
Quinn: It's just, things are kind of boring if I can't see the funny faces of the bosses, and I can't diss people...
Icon Dialogue Arrow It's really good actually.
Icon Dialogue Arrow Tell me more about this dissing.
Quinn: Ack, who are you!? Suddenly popping up out of nowhere... You nearly gave me a heart attack! How old are you? Didn't your parents ever teach you not to talk to strangers on the streets?
Icon Dialogue Arrow But I'm still a child.
Quinn: Then you're... pretty big for a kid. Whatever, seeing as I'm in such a good mood today, I can chat a little while with you.
Quinn: Hey, I tell you what — if you're ever looking for a job, never work as a hotel receptionist.
Quinn: Why? Just let me tell you about the "benefits" of working as a hotel receptionist...
Quinn: No leisure, too many rules, noisy guests, and bossy bosses.
Quinn: Plus some staff members are from The Family and do zero work, then drink all night after work. If you don't go, they boot you out of their group, which doesn't seem to uphold "Harmony," if you ask me.
Icon Dialogue Arrow Why don't you switch careers?
Quinn: Ha, I'd love to — but thanks to my "darling" sister, I've been signed up to work at the hotel in reality as a receptionist alongside her. It's not enough for her to be working there. She had to make it a two-for-one deal.
Quinn: Ha... Do you know what? She actually dreams of working at the hotel in the dreamscape. But how pathetic — she can't even dream properly.
Quinn: I just like the look of her being so obviously jealous of me yet still having to pretend to care, teehee... That's my big sis.

(Subsequent interactions)
Quinn: Hey — it feels great not having to wear this fake smile and grovel for guests all day!
Icon Dialogue Talk Care to chat?
Quinn: Sure, in any case, there's nothing going on right now. What do you want to chat about?
Icon Dialogue Talk So, are you here on vacation?
Quinn: Yeah, after all, the hotel in the Dreamscape is under lockdown now... You've got a Dreamscape Pass, right? It should be in the Guest Notice.
Quinn: The lockdown happened so fast and caught everyone up in the same net, with no wiggle room for anybody. I heard it was a direct order coming down from the family head. Both The Family and all Dreamchasers — everyone was booted out with nobody allowed back into the hotel.
Quinn: I'm pretty curious about what happened in there. That's one thing, but I don't want to get caught up in any weird trouble... so I'd better stop asking around so much I guess.
Icon Dialogue Arrow Are you on paid leave?
Quinn: Of course — If anything, The Family treats us pretty well when it comes to that.
Quinn: A vacation out of nowhere like this should not be wasted and should be fully taken advantage of.
Icon Dialogue Talk Is your role very important?
Quinn: You even hear yourself? Don't you look down on me!
Quinn: Not to brag, but I'm the woman of the moment right now. Do you know how many people there are in Penacony who eye this job of mine? I'm not kidding when I say there's a raucous riot every time this position is hiring!
Quinn: And let me tell you on the down low, the head of the Iris Family holds me in high regard. I know I can be brash and blunt, but to the head, these are all pluses!
Icon Dialogue Talk About your relationship with your sister...
Quinn: The best relationship we could have is no relationship.
Quinn: Never you mind how proper and serious she goes about looking. You have no idea how dark her innermost thoughts can get.
Quinn: People like her will never know the feeling of "sweet dreams"... and it's all her fault!
Icon Dialogue Exit Let's end it here for now.
Quinn: Oh? But I'm still not done...
Icon Dialogue Exit Leave
Quinn: Going so soon? Fine, let's chat again next time you're free. You're fun to talk to.

Post-Mission[]

(After completing Adventure Mission Clockwork: Quinn)
(If Quinn's Emotion is set to Calm)
Quinn's face looks stunned for a second, but soon returns to as lively as it was before.
Icon Dialogue Exit Leave

(If Quinn's Emotion is set to Angry)
Quinn may look extremely calm, but you can feel a kind of rage deep in her heart — just like a smolder of flame burning dimly beneath a pile of soot.
Icon Dialogue Exit Leave

(If Quinn's Emotion is set to Happy)
Quinn stares off into space in serenity with a slight smile, as if experiencing some kind of indescribable joy.
This joy is like the withered crops of winter solstice; like the sky turning to shade as the sun sets; like the tired soul coming to a stop after a lifetime of wandering.
Icon Dialogue Exit Leave

(If Quinn's Emotion is set to Sad)
Right then, Quinn's face wore no emotion. Here [sic] eyes were like cool morning mist on a wintry lake.
Icon Dialogue Exit Leave

Clockwork[]

Clockwork is only available after completing the Adventure Mission Clockwork: Quinn.

Icon Dialogue Clockwork Activate Clockwork
Icon Clockwork Calm Calm
(First interaction)
Quinn: Well... What were we just talking about... *sigh* Why am I so tired?
Quinn: It must be because I'm getting ruthlessly put through the wringer at work, and that's why I've blabbed on so much. It's kinda like when you stay up all night.
(First time only)
Quinn: Luckily I've still got some of this Clockie Pizza left, so I can stock up on carbs... Ha, I guess it's all waste of time actually, as there's no such thing as nutrition inside the Dreamscape.
Quinn: Well, what are you looking at? Hungry, too? Alright, seeing as we've been chatting nicely... it's not like I can't share some of this with you.
(Obtain Clockie Pizza (Single Slice) Clockie Pizza (Single Slice) ×1)
(Subsequent interactions)
Quinn: It's your own hard-earned vacation, so relax a little... Otherwise, even my own conscience is going to condemn me.
Icon Clockwork Angry Angry
(First interaction)
Quinn: Why, is there anything else you'd like to know? Is that enough?

(Subsequent interactions)
Quinn: You know what? Sometimes I think about what happened back then.
Quinn: ...It hurt... so much... "My" heart was beating so fast, yet I couldn't breathe...
Quinn: We'd just had this big fight, and before the anger in her eyes had burnt out, it was doused in a storm-like panic, utterly drenched.
Quinn: I couldn't move. I didn't even have the strength to cry out in pain — I just stared at those eyes. My vision grew blurry... Before I knew it, "I" was asleep.
Quinn: The next time I opened my eyes, "I" was already in the golden hour [sic] as a receptionist at the hotel in the dreamscape.
Quinn: Isn't this story really something? It's a pity everything is *fake* — my memory, my pain, and even my remaining existing. It's all lies that she tells us and herself!
Quinn: How ridiculous! How tragic... Don't you think?
Icon Clockwork Happy Happy
Quinn: It's wonderful. I can finally rest...
Quinn: It's not easy to meet a moment like this where my heart doesn't feel as though it's so heavy.
Quinn: Let me rest a while... I'm tired. And if I might, I really don't feel like ever waking up again...
Icon Clockwork Sad Sad
Quinn: I've had enough... Really, I've had enough...
Quinn: Why can't the dead rest in peace? And why do the living have to pretend to be this fake shadow, pretending that we're struggling on in this dreamscape here?
Quinn: Is guilt really that important? Is remorse really that permanent?
Quinn: And all for her ridiculous ego! All because of her meaningless self-torture!
Quinn: I'm tired... Really, I'm tired. When is she going to let go of herself? When is she going to let go of "me"...
