The Primeval Imperium Emperor, also referred to as the unnamed or anonymous sovereign, is a historical figure who ruled over the ancestors of the Xianzhou natives during the Primeval Imperium Era. Their name has been erased from history for reasons unknown.[1]
Story[]
The ancestors of the Xianzhou natives were short-life species who lived on a planet that is now unreachable.[2] At some point, the sovereign unified the warring nations, banned all forms of weaponry, and replaced security institutions with aurumatons and ingenia to maintain public order. This age was known as the Primeval Imperium Era.[3]
The planet was later invaded by wingweavers who slaughtered and plundered, conducting "evils uncountable." The sovereign raised armies to fight against the invaders and captured numerous wingweaver magicians.[1] After obtaining "miraculous recipes" from the wingweavers and learning of their immortality, the sovereign, who feared death, summoned craftsmen from all over the world to build the Xianzhou fleet. They dispatched nine ships to seek eternal life from the Aeon of Abundance, Yaoshi.[2] The sovereign gifted Yang Di, the Grand Artisan of the Zhuming, a weapons-casting mold in honor of the ship's maiden voyage.[4]
Legacy[]
The fate of the unnamed sovereign is unknown. As they were said to be "dying" at the time of the wingweaver invasion,[5] they may have died of old age before the Xianzhou Alliance encountered Yaoshi. It is implied that the fleet never returned back to their home planet.[6]
During the Crisis of Belief from Year 3400 to 4000 Star Calendar, the Homeward Sect was formed by followers of the Primeval Imperium Emperor. However, their faith in the emperor was born out of political reasons rather than philosophical. Their declaration was, "We should not continue our voyage alone. Instead, we should answer the call of our emperor and find our way back to our homeland." After the foxians joined the Alliance, many of them who wished to rebuild their homeland — the Verdant Sect — merged with the Homeward Sect. They remain a political force to be reckoned with to this day.[6]
