Seize the Body, Manipulate the Mind
Set a Self-Destructing Trap[4]

Phantylia, also known as Mangas by the borisin,[2] is a heliobus[5] and Lord Ravager of the Antimatter Legion, an Emanator of Nanook, the Aeon of Destruction.[4]

She infiltrated the Xianzhou Luofu to revive the Ambrosial Arbor and start a civil war, but was defeated.[6]

Description[]

A member of the ancient Shapeless species of the Heliobi, a starfire essence. Phantylia delights in luring civilizations into self-destruction. Based on her sabotage of the Xianzhou Alliance, it's speculated that her target may be The Hunt.

To her, material extinction is not the end. Only when all things vanish mentally and spiritually can true annihilation be achieved. She's said to possess thousands of incarnations, spreading across the cosmos in countless forms. Through lies, illusions, and manipulation, she fans the flames of blind vengeance.

Recent anomalies on the Xianzhou Luofu and Yaoqing may be signs that her schemes are escalating. Just how deep her influence runs is still unknown.

Profile[]

Phantylia belongs to a class of particularly powerful heliobi that have an especially strong sense of self-awareness. Such heliobi are made up of several heliobi who have resolved their differences and fused into an indissoluble whole. Weaker heliobi fear such beings, as getting too close to them will cause them to be absorbed by the more powerful heliobus and permanently lose their sense of self, essentially leading to their death.[5]

Phantylia has stolen many bodies in an attempt to obtain an indestructible body, but knows that it is impossible. She describes herself as a flame of The Blemished One, and that if the fuel ever runs out, the fire will also be extinguished.[7] She finds pleasure in causing the self-destruction of mortals,[8] and favors causing destruction through internal collapse rather than direct attacks.[9]

Appearance[]

As a heliobus, she is capable of possessing bodies, such as that of the Ambrosial Arbor. While not possessing a body, such as directly after discarding her Tingyun disguise and after being defeated, Phantylia takes the form of a bright colored, sentient flame that is capable of speech.

Her current physical form appears as a large, pale skinned woman with long black hair, two antler like horns, and covered in an ink-like substance resembling a dress.

History[]

Origin[]

At some point, Phantylia caught the attention of Nanook, the Aeon of Destruction, and soon proved herself to THEM, eventually being given the rank of Lord Ravager. The Nameless were aware of her prior to her infiltration of the Xianzhou Luofu.

Activity[]

The Yuque's Divination Commission believed that an unseen and unidentified Lord Ravager caused chaos on at least 122 planets and their ultimate destruction by the Antimatter Legion over the span of 600 years. All reports attribute their demise to internal conflict, spiritual collapse, loss of trust and hope as the main causes.[10] After Phantylia's invasion of the Luofu, the Alliance eventually concluded that she was this unidentified Lord Ravager.[11]

At some point, she intercepted a Whistling Flames ship operated by the foxian Tingyun and stole her identity, using her as a disguise to infiltrate the Xianzhou Luofu. Tingyun miracuously survived the incident, but Phantylia's actions would contaminate her with the power of Destruction. She made a deal with Dan Shu, the leader of the Disciples of Sanctus Medicus, to provide them with a Stellaron and told them that the Ambrosial Arbor would bestow upon them undying bodies once it was revived. She arranged for the Stellaron to be brought aboard the Xianzhou, and after Dan Shu was defeated by the Astral Express, she begged Phantylia to uphold their deal. Phantylia ignored her request, instead becoming disgusted as she was now forced to directly intervene, shedding her disguise and sending a large number of Antimatter Legion soldiers onto the Luofu.[8][12]

Phantylia headed to the roots of the Ambrosial Arbor and took control of its power, donning a body created by the Arbor. After the being found, a battle ensued where she tried to convert Jing Yuan into a member of the Antimatter Legion, believing that it would put the Luofu into chaos. In doing so, a mental link was formed between the two, allowing Dan Heng to damage her by attacking Jing Yuan, ejecting her out of her body. Phantylia did not mind, as she had only lost a body stolen on a whim, while taunting Jing Yuan as she wondered how long he would last. Jing Yuan believes that if she had focused on the battle, she would have likely won against them.[6]

At some point after her defeat on the Luofu, Phantylia took on the persona "Mangas" and rallied the borisin into larger packs. She instigated the borisin invasion of the Shackling Prison to free their Warhead Hoolay and sow discord on the Xianzhou.[13]
