The Path Space is a recurring location visited throughout the game.

Overview

The Path Space is a mysterious area that is space-like in appearance, with a deep blue starry sky and no visible ground. In the center of the space is a vertical yellow light, surrounded by a swirling mass of an unknown substance and dark clouds. Orbiting the center is a multitude of asteroids, as well as more swirling dark clouds below where the player walks.

Time does not flow in the Path Space, and an indefinite amount of time could pass in the Path Space before a second passes in the universe.

Throughout the story, the Path Space usually acts as a type of crossroads, or a way to come into contact with the Aeons. Once the Trailblazer arrives in this space in the Simulated Universe, they typically attract the attention of one of the Aeons. In the Swarm Disaster expansion module, this is where an audience with an Aeon is held, unlocking a certain Secret or Chapter.

History

The Trailblazer visited the Path Space when they were first gazed upon by Nanook. It is also where the Trailblazer takes out Alisa Rand's lance while being guided by the Guardians' Will.

March 7th visits this location while investigating her memories, wherein she is guided by the Messenger to her origin.

During the Amphoreus Trailblaze Missions, Herta visits the space in order to seek an audience with Nous, but her attempt is interrupted by Sunday and Welt. March 7th also revisits the space when the Garden of Recollection tries to convince her enter Amphoreus, being stopped by Cyrene, although she ultimately decides to enter anyway to reunite with the Trailblazer and Dan Heng.

Phainon, using the power of over 400 million Coreflames, was able to face against Nanook and Zephyro in the Path Space, injuring THEM and obtaining the Golden Blood of Ruin.

When the Trailblazer escaped the Exomyth after being imprisoned by Lygus, they woke up in the Path Space and met Evernight, who gave them the fake Worldbearing Coreflame and sent them back to the simulation.

When Irontomb destroyed the universe, The Demiurge, taking on the role of Fuli, gazed at the Trailblazer and Cyrene, sending them to the Path Space once more. They could not pinpoint each other's location in the space, but through their connection through the Stellaron, they were able to find each other. After Irontomb's fall, Herta and Cyrene met in the Path Space to discuss both what the Fourth Instant is and what Cyrene should do next in terms of Amphoreus's causality.
