The Nousporists are a school within Amphoreus' Grove of Epiphany. They devote themselves to the philosophy of Nousporism.
Overview[]
The Nousporists studies the soul. Their work hinges on the theory that all beings originate from the same source, the original Nouspore, and therefore, all souls have the same composition.[1][2]
The Nouspore is the primary object of Nousporist research.[3][4] Some Nousporist research focuses on:
- Alchemy[5]
- The transformation and ascension between beings and essences.[6]
- The nature of titans[7]
- How the souls of humans and gods are formed.
- What elements constitute a soul.
- Whether human souls can be refined into divinity, and divine souls into something beyond divinity.[6]
One of the classes taught in the school is called Soul Physics.[6]
Nouspores[]
The Nouspore refers to a person's soul, defined as tiny invisible seeds that hold records of each person's memories of the world, from someone's perfect memory of the world. A person's body is grown from the soul, and the memories a person make is scattered to different people in the future. The physical appearance of a person will be different across memories, but some memories will stay the same.[2]
For every "Nouspore" that exists in the world, there is a different "ego," and as a result, a different "prime mover of life."[8] The loss of memory can alter a person's Nouspore such that their individual prime mover changes. An example of this is the Demiurge's Factor turning from "love" to "lament."[9]
Demiurge[]
The goal of Scepter δ-me13 was originally extrapolating is the "first Nouspore", the Demiurge, to nurture a life form with an "Ego." This was to answer Nous's query about the prime mover of life.[10]
The memories embedded within the Demiurge's Nouspore were born from the 33 million cycles of Amphoreus's history which the original Cyrene recorded within them. The Demiurge then looked back at Amphoreus, forming the Nouspores of a newborn Amphoreus within a Memory Zone, making the origin of Amphorean Nouspores a Bootstrap Paradox.[10]
History[]
The Nousporist school is the youngest school in the Grove of Epiphany. It specializes in the transformation and ascension of life and matter. Aside from focusing on the idea of the soul, Nousporists also study the origins of all life and material existence.[11] Nousporists also study alchemy,[5] with Anaxa accomplishing feats such as transmuting his soul into gold and using parts of it as fuel to leave behind voiced messages.[1]
Nousporism was first thought of by Anaxagoras, who then founded the Nousporist school in the Grove of Epiphany.[1] The theory was inspired by the teachings of Thalesus, the First Scholar, as he was the first to coin the concept of "souls" in Amphoreus.[11][12][13]

Trivia[]
- Various concepts in classical Greek philosophy may have inspired Nousporism.
- Anaxa, the founder of the Nousporists, is named after the Greek philosopher Anaxagoras. His philosophies likely inspired Nousporism.
- Anaxagoras introduced the concept of nous, the namesake of Nousporism.
- Anaxagoras speculated that everything the world was made up of some kind of universal substance except nous, the mind, which separated living things from the nonliving. A cosmic nous also ordered the universe to create the different objects in the world. This is another possible inspiration for the Nousporist belief that all beings have the same composition.
- Anaxa, the founder of the Nousporists, is named after the Greek philosopher Anaxagoras. His philosophies likely inspired Nousporism.
Etymology[]
- The name Nousporism is likely derived from the greek word νοῦς (nous), a concept from classical philosophy sometimes equated to "intellect."
