Nannan is an NPC aboard The Xianzhou Luofu, located in Aurum Alley.
Profile[]
Nannan is a member of the Unshackled, followers of Yaoshi who rescue lifeforms from dangerous situations and release them into the wild. He is a former member of the "Four Benevolent Ones," faction leaders within the Unshackled, and leads the Microscopic Faction, dubbed the "Fooling Around Faction" by the other leaders of the Unshackled, which releases the microorganisms in water into the environment. The other leaders constantly mock and belittle him after having expelled him from the Four Benevolent Ones due to considering him to not take the act of releasing life seriously. However, after the other three leaders of the Unshackled are arrested, his faction takes charge of the Unshackled and develops a positive relationship with the Realm-Keeping Commission through ecologically beneficial activities. He also begins the habit of "releasing" diary entries daily.

Dialogue[]
- (First interaction)
- Nannan: Release a diary book every day. Keep it up, and I'll be purified of my karma. And then... Heehee...
- Nannan: Just diary books won't be enough. I need to buy some crates of Scalegorge Spring Water...
- Nannan: Um, hello hello! Praise be to happiness' dedication!
What were you muttering about?
"Praise be to happiness' dedication"?- Nannan: Ah! Was I too loud? Sorry. I was just going over my daily routine.
- Nannan: I have a habit of releasing a diary book every day, and sometimes I also release other things. I was just reminding myself of that in case I forget.
- Nannan: The concept of releasing things back to nature isn't limited to the Xianzhou. It's also practiced outside of the Alliance by many Outworlders. Only a love that transcends the boundaries of species can truly elevate a person's heart and soul.
- Nannan: You seem pretty interested in releasing. Is there anything else you'd like to know?

- (Subsequent interactions)
- Nannan: Release a diary book every day. Keep it up, and I'll be purified of my karma. And then... Heehee...
- Nannan: Just diary books won't be enough. I need to buy some crates of Scalegorge Spring Water...
- Nannan: Oh, it's you again. What's up?
How is the Unshackled doing these days?
- Nannan: Thanks for your concern. We are doing so much better than before! Praise be to happiness' dedication!
- Nannan: Since we, the Microscopic Faction, took charge, we have been allocated more resources. We could only release mineral water back then. Now, we have purchased some equipment and started ecological farming with domestic wastewater.
- Nannan: Because of that, the Realm-Keeping Commission has become more lenient with us. They've even invited me to join the "Save Water, Save the World" event!
- Nannan: Do come back and join our release activities if you are free! That's going to earn you lots of merits. In the long run, we might be able to clear our name as Yaoshi's followers.
- Nannan: Back then, the Xianzhou people often associated the Disciples of Sanctus Medicus with Yaoshi followers. In the future, they will think of the Unshackled at the mention of Yaoshi followers!
- Nannan: Praise be to happiness' dedication!
I'd like to ask...
Where do you usually release things?
- Nannan: Well, it depends on the situation. Each entity has its favorite niche.
- Nannan: Personally, I like Starskiff Haven and Exalting Sanctum for the convenient location. Plus, if I get lucky, I may run into fellow enthusiasts and pick up some new insights on releasing.
What have you released so far?
- Nannan: Well... I've released so many things already. I was releasing animals when I first started, but luckily I soon realized it was not a wise choice...
- Nannan: I now have a much better understanding of what it means to release things back to nature. As for now... I've stuck to only releasing Scalegorge Spring Water — you know, mineral water — and diary books.
- Nannan: They won't disrupt the local ecology, and I can still accumulate virtue and remove karma! A great deed for both yourself and the environment! Praise be to happiness' dedication!
Can mineral water be "released"?
- Nannan: Yes, of course. Mineral water is pure and natural, so you can just pour it into the water.
- Nannan: Oh! But don't forget to bring the bottle back with you when you're done. Trash can be harmful to the environment.
Can diary books be "released"?
- Nannan: This may sound odd, but the action of releasing diary books sits at a much more profound level. Although a diary book is not a living creature, it is a record of our lives.
- Nannan: By releasing it, we free ourselves from the anxiety and worries we placed onto those pages, thus achieving a sense of calmness and inner peace.
What do you mean by "karma"?
- Nannan: Karma refers to all connections between a person and the outside world. I release things every day, so I can eventually sever these connections and purify my soul.
- Nannan: After, my mother had taught me as a boy that males need to pay particular attention to maintaining our virtue in the adult world, and try to keep ourselves pure from the inside out!
Does "releasing" really work?
- Nannan: Of course it does! It's a way to purify my karma and achieve greater love!
- Nannan: Look, I only managed to have a chat with you because of my daily release schedule. Doesn't this mean this newfound friendship is the cosmic reward for my accumulated virtue?
I don't have any more questions.
- Nannan: Well, you seem to have understood everything pretty quickly. If you ever want to join me in my releasing ritual, feel free to come find me.
I'd better leave you to it.
- Nannan: Releasing something into the wild is the greatest of good deeds! No other virtue can compare!
- Nannan: Oops, I almost forgot to look over the materials for releasing. All right, maybe next time!
