The Machine Empire, also known as the Rubert Empire[1][2] or Inorganic Empire,[3] was an empire established and ruled by Rubert I during the First Mechanical Emperor's War to combat against organic lifeforms. It once extended across more than half of the universe.[4]
Overview[]
The Machine Empire was established by Rubert I shortly after the outbreak of the Borderstar Trade War. Rubert's ideology was centered around the belief that organic lifeforms, due to the imperfections in their algorithms, were fundamentally flawed. He viewed organic existence as transient and ultimately insignificant compared to the precise and flawless existence of Intellitron lifeforms.[5][6]
This perspective led it to derive the Anti-Organic Equation, a formula instrumental during the First Mechanical Emperor's Wars. The war was a campaign designed by Rubert to purge the universe of organic life, driven by its conviction that such actions were in the best interest of the empire and the advancement of inorganic lifeforms under its rule.[5]
Under the reign of Rubert I, subjects of the empire were prohibited from engaging with the organic world. Dr. Olsen, who created an heart merged with an apple to better understand organic life, was accused of violating this decree and was "resolved" by the Machine Empire during the war.[7]
After Rubert I was killed by Polka Kakamond, the Machine Empire collapsed along with its emperor. The Intellitrons descended from Rubert's Empire still live to this day.[5]
