Reach the railway platform as quickly as possible[]
Step Description
New crisis — the Doomsday Beast is coming, and it seems that you've become some sort of "key element."
If you want to get out of this predicament and save the space station from destruction, the only way may be to head to the railway platform and meet up with the Express and the man named Welt.
You're getting closer to the railway platform, hurry.
- (On the path to the railway platform)
- March 7th: Aww yeah, it's the platform!
- Dan Heng: ...The Express isn't here.
- March 7th: It has to be nearby! Let me go take a peek with my sharp eyes.
- (Upon approaching the railway platform, a cutscene plays)
-
- Dan Heng: Wait, March!
- Himeko: The Doomsday Beast...
- Himeko: It's really here.
- March 7th: Hey! Get down here!
- Himeko: Careful everyone.
- (Cutscene ends, enter battle against
Doomsday Beast ×1)
- (After the battle, a cutscene plays)
-
- Astral Express Crew: March!
- ???: I must leave now
- Trailblazer: What happened...
- ???: You must see the end of your story.
- Trailblazer: ...Who is that?
- ???: Reach the end of the story in your own way.
- ???: See
- ???: THEY have already noticed you.
- March 7th: Mr. Yang! Is (he/
she)... - Welt They're okay now
- Welt Let's talk somewhere else.
- (Cutscene ends)
- (After waking up)
- (Trailblazer): (Is this... the space station?)
- (If playing as Caelus)
- March 7th: Hello there~
- March 7th: Not bad. It would've been even better if you didn't faint. But thanks to you, the Doomsday Beast was as tame as a kitten. It had no temper at all.
Did we win?
- March 7th: Yes, and you are the hero.
Even the Doomsday Beast is no match...
- March 7th: Alright, alright. I just gave you a compliment, don't let it go to your head. However, you are indeed the hero this time.
Who am I, where am I...
- March 7th: Er, you are kidding, right...?
- March 7th: Get up when you feel better. Himeko wants you to go find her. I have something to do, so I won't go with you, alright?
- March 7th: By the way, we should exchange beacons. If you get lost or something, feel free to text me.
- You exchanged your cell phone number with March 7th.
- March 7th: Okay, off I go. Bye!
- (Obtain
Shadow of Destruction ×1)
- (If playing as Stelle)
- Dan Heng: Hi.
- Dan Heng: It's good that you've made it through in one piece. You can rest easy now that the threat from the Legion has been neutralized.
Did we win?
- Dan Heng: Well, this invasion seems to be nothing more than a random provocation. As soon as the Doomsday Beast fell, the Legion retreated.
Even the Doomsday Beast is no match...
- Dan Heng: You're not wrong, but be careful about blurting things out loud — it could attract unwanted attention.
Who am I, where am I...
- Dan Heng: Well, this is the Herta Space Station.
- Dan Heng: I guess I'll leave you to rest up a bit for the time being. By the way, what's your beacon address? That way if anything happens, I can contact you.
- Dan Heng: Go see Himeko when you have the time. She said she had something to discuss with you.
- (Obtain
Shadow of Destruction ×1)
Search for Himeko[]
Step Description
You open your eyes and find yourself still in the space station, staring at a ceiling that doesn't look so strange.
You are living through what just happened. It seems your mind is not playing tricks on you. You wish Himeko was here.
You have so many questions to ask.
- (Interactive tutorial)
-
- Open the Character menu and activate an Eidolon.
- Enter the Eidolon screen
- Select an activatable Eidolon
- Activating Eidolons will enhance a character's abilities.
- Activate the Eidolon.
- (Unlock Mail)
- (Approach Himeko)
- Himeko: You're awake. I had March and Dan Heng stay by the Express to keep an eye on things.
- Himeko: It's almost time. She should be arriving any moment now.
- ???: I've only been gone, what? A few months? And the space station is already in this state?
- Himeko: Welcome back, Herta.
- Genius Society number 83, Herta. Himeko: This is the true master of the space station —
- Herta: At least give me a proper introduction! Genius Society number 83... Of all my outstanding achievements, that's what you want to mention?
Space station... Herta...?
- Herta: Yeah, up to speed yet? That place you all turned upside down? That's my property.
You're... a robot?
- Herta: What you're seeing here is one of my puppets. I'm using her to talk to you.
Heh, Genius Society...
- Zandar came up with the name. You think I like it? Herta: Alright, laugh it up. That old
- Stellaron now? Huh. Herta: So this little twerp has the
- Herta: Hmm, I'll have to take a good look.
- The Blue from disaster... Herta: Hmm, truly amazing! I built a whole space station just to contain this unactivated Stellaron and keep
- Herta: Yet someone was able to achieve that with this little twerp's body. How did they do it?
- Himeko: Moreover, the Stellaron is still very stable in (Trailblazer)'s body.
- Herta: You're right. This little one's body truly is strange...
Don't call me "little one."
- Herta: Hah! Compared to me, you are. How old are you even?
- Himeko: Don't judge a book by its cover, Herta. Case in point, that puppet body of yours is actually much smaller than (Trailblazer).
- Herta: That's... beside the point. Hey is this one the same kind as that March 7th? If that were true...
My name is (Trailblazer).
- Herta: Alright, (Trailblazer). I got it. But I'm still gonna call you little twerp. The space in my brain is too valuable to store peoples' names.
- Himeko: Oh! Well, thanks for remembering my name then.
- Herta: That's different. We have business with each other. Umm, what was your name again?
- Herta: Forget it, let's focus on the one who can store a Stellaron in their body...
Must you two discuss this right in front of me?
- Herta: You can leave. I'm discussing science with what's her face... Himeko? Science exists in objectivity, there's nothing to be secretive about.
- Herta: But as far as you're concerned, I think it would be better for you to listen in. After all, I have a lot of plans ahead involving you. Speaking of which, Himeko...
- (him/
her) in for some research?
Herta: Can I bring - Himeko: That's not up to me to decide. You can ask (Trailblazer) yourself...
No way!
- Herta: This little twerp really has a temper. Don't worry, I won't hurt a hair on your head. With my skills, even surgery would be painless!
- Herta: Aren't you worried about that bomb inside of you? Let me help you while I'm still interested. Once I'm not, I won't do any studies even if you beg me.
Study what?
- Herta: Study you of course. Your body contains a Stellaron, which, in some sense, is no different than storing a bomb. Who knows what might happen? Maybe it'll blow you to bits someday.
- Herta: You should be grateful that this genius is willing to help you out. I still have some interest now, but once that's gone, I'm not studying you even if you beg me.
What's your price?
- Herta: This little twerp's pretty financially motivated. I like it.
- Himeko: Alright, give the poor child a break, Herta.
- Herta: I'm very interested now, so there's almost nothing I won't accommodate. A Stellaron in your body, how interesting is that! Be grateful that I'm offering to help you out. This is a service even the IPC can't buy.
- Himeko: You understand now, (Trailblazer)? Herta wants you to stay in her space station.
- Herta: Well, I'm going to have to modify your wording here: This little twerp can only stay temporarily until the research is done. Or maybe I'll lose interest halfway through and they can just beat it.
- Himeko: And after that?
- Herta: Not my problem.
- Himeko: (Trailblazer)... You also have another option — the Astral Express. If you want, you can leave with us.
- Himeko: The Express has its fair share of experiences with Stellarons. The thing you're worried about, and the answers we're looking for are one and the same. Besides...
- Himeko: We can come back any time to let Herta conduct her research. She's absolutely fascinated now.
- Herta: Hm, works for me, keeps this subject fresh, too. And that way I won't need to keep worrying about this little twerp all the time. Perfect!
Get on the Express, or stay behind...
- Herta: My advice would be to get on. You're not doing me that big of a favor by staying anyway.
You really are the most self-centered person I've ever met.
- Herta: You should meet the others of the Genius Society. Some of them will trick you into thanking them after they milk you dry. At least I have my honesty going for me.
I'll think about Himeko's offer...
- Herta: Yes, give it some good thought.
- Herta: Just remember to come back often. Make an appointment in advance with Asta or Arlan so I can make time to study you.
- (himself/
herself).
Himeko: There's no need to rush into this, Herta. Asta's in the master control zone. Let's let (Trailblazer) have a talk with Asta first and decide for - Himeko: (Trailblazer), I'll be waiting for you on the platform. It's no hurry if you still have things to do or someone to see.
- Himeko: Come find me when you've made your decision.
- Messages
HertaHey, (Trailblazer), it's Herta. I need you for something goodCome to my office quickly! I'm waiting!
Go to Herta's Office[]
Step Description
So, there's more than one Herta... It makes sense now that you think about it. This Herta wants you to head to her office.
It'll probably be an annoying request, but you do have to go.
- (
Himeko has left the team)
- (Interactive tutorial)
-
- Open the Team Setup menu to adjust your team composition.
- Add a character to the team
Talk to Herta[]
- (Talk to Herta in her office)
- Herta: Hey, there you are.
How did you get here so soon?
- Herta: I haven't moved. What you're seeing is one of my remote-controlled puppets. They're all over the station. I just connect to one wherever I am needed.
Sorry if I kept you waiting.
- Herta: Who's waiting for you? I've been busy. What you're seeing is one of my remote-controlled puppets. They're all over the station. I just connect to one wherever I am needed.
- Amber Eras: The truth about Aeons. Herta: Enough chit-chat, (Trailblazer) — I am working on a big project with a few colleagues. If we succeed, it will answer the ultimate question that's been puzzling us for thousands of
- Herta: Aeons... think about it. What mystical existences! Some Aeons used to be ordinary humans like you and me, but somehow THEY managed to obtain power beyond our imagination! THEY are mysterious, powerful, silent and terrifying! It's hard to explain all the mysteries surrounding THEM.
- Herta: How were THEY created? Why were THEY created? What were THEY created for? (Trailblazer), have you ever thought about these questions?
All the time.
- Herta: Great. Curiosity is the foundation of science. Now, we can't just think about it. We should also act. I want to give you the chance to participate in this project. Let's work together.
What's this got to do with me?
- Herta: Well indeed, it's got nothing to do with you, but we need you. Give me some time, (Trailblazer), I'll make this worthwhile for you too.
...42?
- Herta: 42 what? Are you even listening to me? We want to solve the mystery behind the Aeons! Right now I want you to participate in this project!
- Herta: The four geniuses of the society wrote a program together. You see the big machine in the office? That machine contains a universe, just like the universe we live in, but it's more streamlined and customized.
- Herta: I call it the "Metaverse"!
Seriously? Don't ride that hype train.
Let's just keep it simple.
- Simulated Universe." Herta: Oh really? That's what my partners said as well. Fine, I am a team player. Then let's call it the "
- Herta: Now go and experience it for yourself. I will guide you in the Simulated Universe to make sure nothing happens to you! I'll even give you a substantial reward.
Trivia[]
- In the cutscene where the Trailblazer draws Nanook's gaze, images from future Trailblaze Missions, including Not Good With Farewells and Roads to the Past Have Long Been Closed, can be seen.
- Herta's proposed name "Metaverse" for the Simulated Universe is a reference to the Metaverse trend.
- When speaking to Herta, the Trailblazer can respond with "42." This is "the Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything" from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams.
