Dialogue[]
Push the ball to destroy the obstacles and clear a path[]
Mission Description
After returning from the Abyss, we split into two groups. Phainon and I headed to assist the battle-worn Mydei, while (Trailblazer) planned to harness Oronyx's power to gather the memory fragments. Once this was done, we would devise a plan to journey into Castrum Kremnos' past, where we would join forces with Castorice to destroy Nikador's immortal body.- (Investigate the barrier)
- Obstacles are blocking the path... Maybe the ball on the second floor can be utilized to break the box.
Go to the place in Castrum Kremnos that serves as the link to the past[]
- The three of you rush into Castrum Kremnos and arrive at the arena
- (Approach the door)
- Castorice: ...How can we go back to the past?
- Mem: Come, follow!
- Mem: Memory... Scent, strong!
- (Enter the large room)
- Castorice: That battle cry... Is that Lord Mydei?
- (Approach stairs leading to the marked location)
- Castorice: Nikador... They're still locked in battle.
- (Approach the marked location)
- Castorice: The battle is still raging... I can feel the intensity even from here.
I wish I could go and help them...
- (Mr./
Miss) (Trailblazer). But right now, we must head to another battlefield. Castorice: I understand how you feel,
- (Mr./
We have our own battle to face.
- Castorice: Exactly. We'll only be able to help them once we've seen our own mission through.
At least we know they're still alive.
- Castorice: We'll only be able to help them once we've seen our own mission through.
- Mem: Here, memory, complete. Give me, fragments.
- Mem: Past... I, recreate.
Hand over the memory fragments to Mem[]
- (Talk to Mem)
- Mem: Memory, complete. Give me, fragments.
- Mem: Past... Recreate, I will.
- (Submit
Bard's Memory Fragment,
Chartonus' Memory Fragment,
Damionis' Memory Fragment)
- Mem: Fragments, complete. Memory... appear.
- Mem: Past, entrance... Open!
- Castorice: Is that the gate to the past?
- (Mr./
Miss) (Trailblazer). We will unravel Nikador's secrets together. Castorice: Let's go,
Walk through the door to the past in Castrum Kremnos[]
- Castorice: Castrum Kremnos...
- Aquila closed their eyes. Castorice: So this is how it looked like before
Where should we start searching?
What a magnificent sight.
- Castorice: The City of Warriors, its magnificence certainly lives up to its name.
- Castorice: We should first figure out which era we've traveled back to.
- Castorice: The memory fragments we gathered for Mem all point toward the final stage of the Chrysos War... We might be able to use that as a starting point for our deductions.
But we can just ask around!
- Castorice: ...We may draw suspicion this way. Castrum Kremnos is no leisure spot for tourists. We shouldn't draw unnecessary attention to ourselves.
Ooh, so this is what it feels like to be a time traveler?
- Castorice: It's... quite intriguing, indeed. But Castrum Kremnos is no leisure spot for tourists. We shouldn't draw unnecessary attention to ourselves.
- Castorice: Let's start with the city's surroundings. We might be able to gather some clues by listening and observing.
Head to Castrum Kremnos of yesteryear[]
Step Description
(Trailblazer) unlocked the door to the past in Castrum Kremnos, stepping into the city's former days. It was the time of the Kremnos Festival, and Nikador had just begun to lose their mind. Castrum Kremnos was still prosperous and vibrant with life.
- Castorice: Under all this resplendence... is the distinct stench of death.
- Castorice: But even the most magnificent of deaths can never be sweet...
- (Approach the marked person)
- Silent Gladiator: ...
- Castorice: ...Hello?
- Silent Gladiator: ...
Anyone home?
Heellooo!
Is he hard of hearing?
- Silent Gladiator: ...What is it?
- Castorice: ...May I ask if you're here to join the competition?
- Silent Gladiator: Competition...?
- Silent Gladiator: No... I have no interest in meaningless sports.
- Castorice: So... you're here for Nikador's festival?
- Silent Gladiator: ...
- Silent Gladiator: Utterly foolish...
- Castorice: ...
What a cranky guy...
- Castorice: War has left its mark on many from this period, so please don't take it personally...
Examine the area surrounding the arena to confirm the era you're in[]
- (Try to proceed before going to the marked locations)
- (Mr./
Miss) (Trailblazer). It's best not to go there yet...
Castorice: Please wait, - Castorice: Let's try to find more clues around here first.
- (Listen to the group of people)
- Chrysos Heir? What a joke! Resentful Kremnoan: Crown prince?
- Resentful Kremnoan: Mydeimos is just a coward! Those who deserted Kremnos with him have brought shame upon the Lance of Fury... Despicable traitors will never bask in glory again!
- Concerned Kremnoan: But Mydeimos is undoubtedly the mightiest warrior among us... Who else can we turn to now that he's gone?
- Eurypon, the rightful ruler of Castrum Kremnos, has not fallen! He still stands firm in this city and has never given up on awakening the great Titan. Resentful Kremnoan: What nonsense are you spouting? King
- Resentful Kremnoan: As long as we remain steadfast at his side, we'll reclaim our former glory and sow bloodshed and conquest amongst our foes...
- Castorice: King Eurypon...?
- Castorice: Right, of course... The people of this time wouldn't know the fate of that old king yet.
What fate?
- Castorice: ...He was killed by Lord Mydei.
Mydeimos... is a deserter?
- Castorice: No... I don't believe that Lord Mydei left out of cowardice. It was, in fact, a courageous choice.
Those people sound furious.
- Castorice: They are entitled to that rage... because Lord Mydei was once the hero of Castrum Kremnos.
- Castorice: But he did not leave out of cowardice... It was, in fact, a courageous choice.
- Castorice: With that, we should have enough to determine the time period we are currently in.
- (Examine the scroll)
- Castorice: It's a scroll written in the common tongue. We should see what it's about.

Five Great Virtues and Festival Notice Festival Notice
At the Action Hour in the Month of ███████, Day █, Kremnos Arena will hold a grand ceremony in commemoration of Nikador, and pray for Castrum Kremnos' prosperity, honing the battle souls of our folk, so that all may bask in the radiant glory of the Strife Titan's Five Great Virtues:
Unfearing of blade at the throat, manifesting the visage of courage
Unyielding to conniving treachery, protecting the crown of honor
Unblinking of eyes burning bright, upholding the cornerstone of reason
Unbending from wounds to flesh, forging characters of tenacity
Undaunted of risking life to protect, embodying corpus of sacrifice.
In the spirit of this gladiatorial festival, its warriors are all beacons of valor from all corners of Castrum Kremnos. The arena is in a wide open space — warriors can don sturdy armor and wield sharp lances, marching on a path of onslaught to finally face King Eurypon. Victors will seize fame, their names etched in glory, and the defeated will become fallen souls of heroes, unshaken in their pursuit of courage.
The festival is a raucous affair, eagerly awaiting a surge of warriors who jostle to pledge themselves to call forth the divinity of the Titans. May Nikador defend Kremnos for eternity!
- Castorice: Courage, Honor, Reason, Tenacity, Sacrifice...
- Castorice: Nikador did live up to these values in his prime, but now...
- Damionis described. Castorice: Kremnos seems to be hosting a festival, where its victor can go on to have an audience with the ruler and be bestowed with honor. It's just as Mr.
- Castorice: If we can pose as participants, we might be able to get into the city...
- (Talk to the weapon merchant)
- Weapon Merchant: Finest weapons for sale! Come take a look! The sharpest blades in all of Kremnos!
- Chartonus himself! Weapon Merchant: Gladiator swords, maces, and bucklers crafted by the Grand Craftsman
- Weapon Merchant: Looking to breeze through your foes at the Kremnos Festival? I've got the best weapons right here for you!
Not getting much business, huh?
- Weapon Merchant: Hmph... Those boorish warriors know nothing about quality gear!
Are these really crafted by Chartonus?
- Weapon Merchant: I'm as honest a merchant as they come! Those boorish warriors know nothing about quality gear!
- Weapon Merchant: Ah, but you're not like them! With your air of sophistication, you must be a noble from one of the grand city-states, right? Here, let me show you what I have in stock...
(Look at Castorice.)
Could this be a scam?
- Castorice: The craftsmanship of a weapon reveals the time period it's made... We can afford to take a quick look.
- (If something was purchased)
-
- (Mr./
Miss) (Trailblazer)... Much as we're in a memory of the past, impulse buying is still an undesirable behavior.
Castorice: - Weapon Merchant: Wahaha, you're quite the high-roller! Thank you, and please come again!
- (Mr./
Miss) (Trailblazer)? Castorice: May I take a look at that weapon,
- (Mr./
- (If nothing was purchased)
-
- (Mr./
Miss.) (Trailblazer), but you've certainly proven me wrong.
Castorice: I thought you'd be the kind to make impulsive purchases, - Weapon Merchant: Tsk. So you're just window shopping? What a waste of my time...
- Castorice: Mister, can I please have a look at the weapon you're holding on to?
- Weapon Merchant: Oh? A gentle lady like you taking an interest in weapons? Why, of course! Please, feel free to take a closer look!
- (Mr./
- Castorice carefully takes the weapon in her hand and examines it closely for a moment...
- Castorice: ...
- (Mr./
Miss.) (Trailblazer).
Castorice: ...I've seen enough. Let's go, - Weapon Merchant: Leaving already? Don't you want to browse through my other wares?
- Weapon Merchant: Well then, come back anytime... if you make it through the festival today.
What's wrong with that weapon?
What was that just now?
- Castorice: Those weapons reek of blood. He made an effort to conceal it, but traces of death aren't something you can easily erase... I shudder to even consider where he got his goods from.
- Castorice: He didn't lie about the weapon being one of Chartonus' handiwork, though. Thanks to its inscription, I now have a fairly good guess of the time period we're in.
- (Talk to the weapon merchant again, optional)
- Weapon Merchant: Finest weapons for sale! Come take a look! The sharpest blades in all of Kremnos!
- (Once all three locations have been examined)
- (Mr./
Miss) (Trailblazer)
Castorice: Let's run through everything we know so far, - Okhema with some of his people. Old King Eurypon still reigns, though Nikador has fallen into a slumber. And Castrum Kremnos is now gathering warriors from all over in preparation for their festival... Castorice: Lord Mydei has gone to seek refuge in
- Castorice: It seems that we've traveled back to the last years of the Chrysos War, a time when Castrum Kremnos grappled with both internal strife and the Titan's waning divinity.
Do you have a plan in mind?
Talk is cheap. Let's charge in!
- Castorice: That's too risky of a plan. And I might even become a burden to you.
It's about time you used your powers.
- Castorice: I... can't control my strength with that much precision, the risk is too great.
- Castorice: The safest bet is to play by the rules. They happen to be hosting a festival in the city... We can try entering as participants?
- Castorice: Let's make our way into the city first, we can then wait for the right opportunity to strike. When it comes down to it... I will take care of Nikador's kin.
- Castorice: That should be the place to sign up.
Go to the registration area to join the competition[]
Step Description
To execute their plan as safely as possible, Castorice and (Trailblazer) decided to blend into the festival celebration, forming a trio with a silent warrior and venturing deeper into Castrum Kremnos.
- (Approach the marked person)
- Kremnos Registration Officer: ...Such a pity! Those three warriors were so close to completing the trial, to emerging as victorious Kremnoan warriors, and to earning an audience with our glorious King Eurypon!
- Kremnos Registration Officer: And yet, they collapsed at the final hurdle! The Furiae Praetor swiftly hacked them down, reducing them to mere mincemeat... May Nikador recognize their valor and embrace their heroic spirits.
- Kremnos Registration Officer: ...Next! Do we have any more warriors ready for the challenge? King Eurypon awaits, longing for the first brave soul to survive and stand before him!
This competition sounds pretty brutal...
Is this competition really that hardcore?
- Castorice: This was a time when life was valued far less than bread. People hardly bat their eyelids at the savagery and death that had become commonplace.
- Kremnos Registration Officer: Does no one have the courage to take up the challenge? Are you not prepared to wager your glory and set your lives ablaze under the splendor of Kremnos?
- Silent Gladiator: ...Let me through.
- Kremnos Registration Officer: Why, it's you again, inarticulate fool! Pfft, unarmed, and yet you dare to think you can join the Kremnos Festival? That's an insult to the Lance of Fury!
- Kremnos Registration Officer: I've told you before—this is a trial for three! This is a trial that requires three people! If you can't even gather enough comrades to stand by you in life and death, it's time you went home and took up herding!
- Silent Gladiator: ...
- Silent Gladiator: ...Let me through.
- Kremnos Registration Officer: Hmph, so you're not just inarticulate, but also hard of hearing... Keep up this act of nuisance, and I'll be sure to show you how uncivil we can get!
- Castorice: Teams of three...
- (Mr./
Miss) (Trailblazer), this might be our chance...! We can enter the city with him.
Castorice: Sign me up!
We'll be his teammates!
- Kremnos Registration Officer: Hm? Who are...
- Silent Gladiator: ...You two.
- Kremnos Registration Officer: Pfft... I see what this is.
- Kremnos Registration Officer: As you wish! Good for you, you now have allies to court death with. Come on up here, fool!
- Kremnos Registration Officer: The adrenaline-pumping scenes are becoming a bit tiresome, so adding a wildly mismatched "interlude" would make for a refreshing change and spice things up.
- Kremnos Registration Officer: Let the trial begin, then! Your only goal is to survive! As long as you still hold the breath of life, you'll either triumph over every trial and claim worldly glory — or leave your soul in Kremnos to become fuel for Strife!
The stakes are high...
I'm not sure about this...
- (Mr./
Miss) (Trailblazer)... Lord Phainon and Lord Mydei are still fighting. We must match their unwavering resolve.
Castorice: Have faith, - Silent Gladiator: ...Can we enter now?
- Kremnos Registration Officer: Eager to meet your demise? Very well then, let the trial begin!
- Kremnos Registration Officer: Give me your names, warriors.
(Trailblazer).
- Castorice: Castorice.
- Gnaeus: ...Gnaeus.
- Kremnos Registration Officer: Castorice, Gnaeus, and (Trailblazer)...
I am the Galactic Baseballer!
- Castorice: Castorice.
- Gnaeus: ...Gnaeus.
- Kremnos Registration Officer: Galactic Baseballer, Castorice, and Gnaeus...
- Kremnos Registration Officer: It is an honor to see your true faces revealed by the radiant glow of The Blade of Fury.
- Kremnos Registration Officer: In the name of the five virtues of Nikador — courage, honor, reason, tenacity, and sacrifice — stride through the holy city's gate and embrace your fate.
- Kremnos Registration Officer: May your courageous souls satisfy Nikador and fuel the conquests of Kremnos.
Enter the Castrum Kremnos[]
- (Speak to the registration officer again, optional)
- Kremnos Registration Officer: In the name of the five virtues of Nikador, stride through the holy city's gate and embrace your fate.
- Kremnos Registration Officer: May your courageous souls satisfy Nikador and fuel the conquests of Kremnos.
- (Approach the gate)
- Castorice: Lord Gnaeus, may I ask what is it you are fighting for?
- Gnaeus: Fighting needs no reason. I seek only to crush foolishness.
- (Approach the marked location)
- Castorice: They have fewer guards than I expected. I thought we'd be greeted with something more... intense.
Observing formalities before aggression, now that's a thoughtful approach.
Do these battle-hardened people also have a taste for puzzles?
- Gnaeus: Meaningless...
- Gnaeus: Why stall those charging for Death's door?
- Castorice: Death is not part of our plan, Lord Gnaeus. We should work on solving the puzzle they've set for us.
- Castorice: Look, there are two braziers on that wall. Could they be... some sort of hint?
- Castorice: And those mechanisms protruding from the ground... Should we attempt to activate them?
- Castorice: A Prophecy Tablet...
- Castorice: Let's make use of the tools here to solve the puzzle.
Ignite the fire pit and complete the trial[]
- (Investigate the exit)
- Castorice: Is this the exit? Oh, it's locked.
- Castorice: Let's focus on igniting the braziers first.
- (Solve the prophecy tablet, triggering the pressure mechanism)
- Castorice: Look, we lit the brazier.
- Gnaeus: You seem quite familiar with these... devices.
- Castorice: Huh? They're all over Amphoreus.
- (Approach shrine)
- Gnaeus: Oronyx...
- Castorice: What's wrong, Lord Gnaeus?
- Gnaeus: Weak. Reduced to a servant of humans.
- (Approach ball that requires a longer rewind time)
The bases of some Ball-Holder Statues have a rotating mechanism, identifiable by the presence of a glowing blue pattern at their base connection. For these statues, you can adjust their orientation from the back to direct the ball to roll in different directions.

- (Trigger the second pressure mechanism)
- Castorice: The gate has opened, as expected.
- Gnaeus: A meaningless challenge to erode the patience of warriors.
- (After defeating enemies)
- Gnaeus: Crumble, weakling.
- Gnaeus: The Titan's creations? When did they become so weak...?
- Castorice: Rest in peace...
- Gnaeus: A dreamless sleep is nothing but deathly silence.
Proceed deeper into Castrum Kremnos and search for clues about Nikador[]
- (Approach the marked location)
- Castorice: Barricades... We must find a way to remove them.
- Castorice: Could it be a challenge that requires us to use the Hand of Zagreus? Let's get closer and find out.
Clear the obstacles using the Hand of Zagreus[]
- (Engage the Hand of Zagreus)
The Hand of Zagreus can charge up, and then sprint in a straight line, during which it will gain a certain degree of destructive power.

- (After punching with the Hand of Zagreus)
- Gnaeus: Zagreus, the embodiment of all things despicable.
- Gnaeus: Their legacy reduced to mere playthings for humans...
- Castorice: This is a lot more destructive than I expected...
- Castorice: Was this giant hand really used for thievery in the past?
- Gnaeus: ...Crumble to dust.
- (After all obstacles have been cleared)
- Castorice: The way ahead is now clear.
- Castorice: Lord Gnaeus, before we move on... there is something we must explain to you.
- Gnaeus: ...Hm. You're not here for this foolish competition.
- Castorice: How did you...?
- Gnaeus: You've been fighting to suppress your true thoughts within you all this while... You cannot deceive me.
- Gnaeus: I know you have no care for that fatuous king's contrived glory. You can keep your motive to yourselves, so long as you stay out of my way...
So, what is your motive?
- Gnaeus: I've said it before: To obliterate the deeply entrenched roots of foolishness within Castrum Kremnos.
- Castorice: Now the true challenge begins... This is where it gets difficult.
- Gnaeus: Meaningless forestalling. They are meant to taste defeat on the battlefield. Deter us further... and I shall send them to Thanatos.
- Castorice: ...
Proceed deeper into Castrum Kremnos and search for clues about Nikador[]
- (After defeating enemies)
- ???: Hmph, these goons are much tougher than they seem...
- ???: Wahaha, it's my lucky day...
- ???: What a fine weapon! It's a real beauty...
- ???: With a bit of sprucing up, no one will guess it's second-hand, heh...
- (Approach the marked location)
- Gnaeus: ...Wait.
Got a crick in your back?
No can do, I'm already itching to fight!
- (Mr./
Miss) (Trailblazer). Castorice: Please keep it together,
- (Mr./
- Gnaeus: Hush... Listen.
- ???: Heh heheh...
- ???: Looks like I've hit the jackpot this time...
- Castorice: I hear it now. That's...
- Gnaeus: Pretend you did not hear anything. Act oblivious.
- Gnaeus: We'll find a way to make him come out of hiding.
Investigate the strange human voice[]
- (Continue up the stairs)
- Gnaeus: Stop at the next turn.
- Gnaeus: If there's an assassin... we'll take care of him right there.
- (Approach the marked location)
- The three held their breath at the corner, waiting for the voice behind them to approach...
- Gnaeus: Keep quiet...
- ???: *pant* They sure are quick on their feet. One bag won't be enough to hold everything...
- ???: After this haul, I shouldn't have to scrounge for leftovers for the next few days. If only this festival could go on longer...
- Gnaeus: ...Now.
- Castorice: ...Oh.
- Weapon Merchant: Huh!?
Gah!
Huh?
It's you!
- Castorice: ...That's why all of your weapons reek of blood.
- Weapon Merchant: Uh... ahem, well... I can explain myself! You see, I—
- Gnaeus: Looting the arena like a despicable lowlife... Prepare to meet Thanatos, thief.
- Weapon Merchant: No! Stop!
- Castorice: Don't do it, Lord Gnaeus!
- Castorice: This isn't right. Please... let him go.
- Gnaeus: ...
- Gnaeus: Turn around, girl. Look at the corpses of those we crushed. You can cut down warriors without a second thought, yet you show compassion to this scum?
- Gnaeus: Give me a reason... show me you're not as dumb as those ignorant fools.
- Castorice: Because... he still knows how to fear death. Despicable or scum he may be, but he doesn't deserve to die here, nor become a sacrifice to the Hand of Shadow.
- Castorice: It is the darkest force in this world, and if left unchecked... all light will be consumed.
- Castorice: To answer your question, it is never the desire to kill that drives me to wield a sword, but rather, the fear of death.
- Gnaeus: ...
- Gnaeus: ...Get lost, scum. Consider yourself lucky today.
- Weapon Merchant: Th—Thank you! Y—You won't see me around this city again, I promise!
- Castorice: Your mercy is appreciated, Lord Gnaeus.
- Gnaeus: Make no mistake. This is simply a commendation for your courage, not a sign that I agree with your ideas.
- Gnaeus: If I understand you correctly, you must have overcome tremendous fear to dare to stand in the way of my sword.
- Gnaeus: This trial isn't over... We should keep going.
Proceed deeper into Castrum Kremnos and search for clues about Nikador[]
- (Approach the marked location)
- Castorice: It's the same mechanism... We need to ignite the two braziers to unlock the way forward.
- (Mr./
Miss) (Trailblazer). Castorice: Let's clear this trial together,
Ignite the fire pit and complete the trial[]
- (Light one brazier)
- Castorice: One more to go.
- (Approach the right side of the puzzle)
- Castorice: The platform on the right is missing an iron ball...
- Castorice: Do we have to summon a miracle for it to appear?
- (Approach a broken platform in the puzzle, optional depending on how it is solved)
- Gnaeus: The bridge ahead is broken. How do we get across?
- Castorice: Let's try illuminating it with the Oronyx Orb.
- (Transcription missing)
- Gnaeus: An exquisite stone... It's a shame it appeared somewhere it doesn't belong.
- Castorice: We may be able to temporarily remove it with the orb?
- (Light the second brazier)
- Castorice: That... should have done it, right?
- (Once both braziers are lit but the room is not in the correct time dimension to open the gate)[Does this line play if you solve the right puzzle before the left?]
- (Mr./
Miss) (Trailblazer). Castorice: Let's recover the miracle from the tome,
- (Attempt to exit while in the wrong time dimension)
- Castorice: The gate won't budge in this time dimension... How about recovering the "miracle" from the tome?
Proceed deeper into Castrum Kremnos and search for clues about Nikador[]
- (Step onto elevator)
- Castorice: Are there others who made it this far...?
- Gnaeus: Never underestimate those who step into this arena. They are skilled and courageous beyond measure.
- (Head down the hallway)
- Chryseus Leo: Brave one... Step forth...
- Chryseus Leo: I sense... a rare aura around you...
- Chryseus Leo: You could well be... Castrum Kremnos' salvation...
- Castorice: Is that statue... beckoning to us?
- (Approach the marked location)
- Chryseus Leo: Brave one... O Brave one! Come closer... Let me get a good look at you...
- Gnaeus: ...
- Gnaeus: Are you calling out to me, lion?
- Chryseus Leo: That's right... I am. You have an unusual aura about you... I have not seen such a blazing soul in a very long time.
- Chryseus Leo: The blazing star of Castrum Kremnos has drifted far from us... all that remains is a dim candle, on the verge of being extinguished.
Blazing star...
...Is that Mydei?
- Castorice: I think... you're right.
- Chryseus Leo: The aging and feeble king is plotting something unspeakable... One that seeks to defile Nikador's divinity, their soul, and the legacy they left to Kremnos.
- Chryseus Leo: We need salvation... we need a champion to reignite our hope.
- Gnaeus: ...I did not come to save anybody, old lion. I am here to answer a call... to crush greed and foolishness once and for all.
- Chryseus Leo: Perhaps... that's what we desperately need.
- Chryseus Leo: Forge on then, warrior... heed the call. I am elderly... and weary... but I shall watch you depart and pray for victory in every battle encounter...
- (Continue down the hallway)
- Castorice: Lord Gnaeus, the calling you're heeding...
- Gnaeus: Comes from the depths of this city. We're close... so close, in fact, that I can hear the whispers in my ears.
- (Approach the marked location)
- Castorice: Such carnage... whose desires does this festival truly serve?
- Gnaeus: A beast that has lost sight of its target and is now guided only by its innate bloodlust.
- Castorice: Lord Gnaeus, now that we're at the very heart of Castrum Kremnos... it's time to let you in on our goal here.
- Castorice: While we do not expect you to work with us, we do not wish for conflict either.
- Gnaeus: ...Speak.
- Castorice: We came here to find a way to destroy Nikador. We received... intel that the Titan of Strife had lost their reason and is now trying to create an immortal vessel for themself.
- Castorice: If we do not stop them now, they will pose a grave danger to the future generations of Amphoreus.
- Gnaeus: Hmph, grave danger, you say...
- Gnaeus: Our goals are not in conflict, girl. Find the Titan and we can both get what we came for.
What about the festival?
- Gnaeus: Better off forgotten.
Will we have to battle them...?
- Gnaeus: I smell fear... You're scared?
- Castorice: The souls of the sacrificed are still wandering this hall... I hear their endless bemoaning, their senseless deaths have left them wronged, their mournful wails echo endlessly.
- Castorice: Perhaps I can learn something from their cries...
Speak with the wondering spirit with the help of Castorice[]
Step Description
Castorice reveals the true purpose of our mission to Gnaeus, the silent gladiator. The party presses on, gathering information on the way, vowing to return Nikador's five soul fragments to their rightful place to prevent the creation of their immortal divine body, and to reforge the glory of the Strife Titan.
- (Approached marked location)
- Castorice: Reveal yourself, O warrior spirit... I know that you have yet to rest.
- Castorice: I ask for you to guide us. Let us see what you once gazed upon, let us hear what your ears once heard...
- Gnaeus: You can rouse the dead?
- Castorice: No... I can only summon souls that haven't fully passed on.
- (Approach the marked location)
- Castorice: O, ye who cannot rest in peace... Tell us, what have you heard?
- Soldier's Echo: "Do we really just leave them like that? The putrid stench of decay here is almost too much to bear."
- Priest's Echo: "Yes. Didn't you hear? This is part of the ritual. We need to offer up sacrifices to the Titan."
- Soldier's Echo: "Keep the challengers coming and have them fight till the end... only by letting Nikador revel in the chaos of war can we control their descent into madness."
- Castorice: ...
- Gnaeus: Hmph, fabricating a spurious war in an attempt to calm the Titan. Nikador... has indeed lost their will.
- Castorice: This barbaric method of theirs clearly proved to be effective.
- Castorice: The soul... can reveal even more to us.
- Castorice: *cough* *cough*
- Gnaeus: What's wrong, girl?
- Castorice: Guiding souls takes a lot of energy... but I'm fine, Lord Gnaeus.
- (Approach the marked location)
- Castorice: O, restless soul... *cough* Tell us, what have you heard?
- Aristocrat's Echo: "How much longer is this festival going to last? What is King Eurypon waiting for?"
- Sealing a Titan's soul is no easy endeavor. The priests are already working as fast as they can..." Advisor's Echo: "Be patient, for our plan is still underway...
- Aristocrat's Echo: "Priests captured from other city-states — who can guarantee their loyalty? Hmph, I say we punish one of them so they know to behave..."
- Castorice: Sealing a Titan's soul...
- Castorice: Could it be the Sword Vessel in Lipos' ballad? The one that Chartonus crafted himself...
- Gnaeus: Foolishness... Perhaps now you begin to understand the weight of that term.
Why are they doing this?
- Gnaeus: Out of cowardice. They are afraid of losing their faith and guidance.
- Gnaeus: Nikador fights against the unseen, they have no time for the folly of mortals.
So Nikador is at their mercy?
- Gnaeus: They are fighting against the unseen, they have no time for the folly of mortals.
- Gnaeus: Cowards... They are afraid of losing their faith and guidance.
- Castorice: Lord Gnaeus, you seem to know a lot about that Titan.
- Gnaeus: The whispers I'm hearing may very well be from Nikador themself.
- Castorice: They're beckoning to us from the other side... Continue to guide us through, O wandering soul.
- Castorice: *cough* *cough*
- Castorice: The next one... I need to last till... the next one.
- (Approach the marked location)
- Castorice: Lost souls... Tell us...
- Castorice: *cough* *cough* *cough*
Is this one taking more out of you?
Do you need a break, Castorice?
- (Mr./
Miss) (Trailblazer). There's no need to worry.
Castorice: I... I'm fine, - Castorice: Lost souls... Tell us, what have you heard?
- Soldier's Echo: "Have you heard? King Eurypon's advisors are coming up with a plan to launch an all-out attack on Okhema."
- Craftsman's Echo: "With just the handful of soldiers we have? They're absolutely out of their minds..."
- Soldier's Echo: "That's the long-term plan. Our priority for now is still to complete the god-king's... 'project'."
- Castorice: ...
- Castorice: So their plan to attack Okhema was conceived that long ago?
Looks like it wasn't Nikador's idea...
Whoever hatched that plan must've long since turned to ash.
- Gnaeus: I knew it.
- Castorice: ...Lord Gnaeus?
- Gnaeus: I've long suspected that you two are not from here... No, not just that. You're not from this era.
- Gnaeus: Is it Oronyx? No... they would not be capable of such power.
Yikes, our cover's blown...!
Looks like we'll have to silence him for good!
- (Mr./
Miss) (Trailblazer)... I believe he has no ill intent toward us.
Castorice: Calm yourself, - Castorice: Your guess is correct, Lord Gnaeus... *cough* We are not from this era.
- Castorice: Some day in the distant future... a mad Nikador will drive our companions and our homeland to the brink of destruction. The reason we came back here... is to find a way to prevent Amphoreus from falling to its doom.
- Gnaeus: ...Their madness will last for thousands of years? The destruction created by human folly is more than anyone could imagine. It so happens that we have the same goal.
- Castorice: *cough* *cough* The souls... are still lingering here. Let us keep going...
- Castorice: *cough* *cough* *cough*
- Gnaeus: ...Don't push yourself.
- Castorice: We're almost at the end... I can sense it...
- (Approach the marked location)
- Castorice: O, restless soul...
- Castorice: ...
Castorice...
Why don't you take a break...?
- (Mr./
Miss) (Trailblazer).
Castorice: I'm fine... - Castorice: Lost souls... Tell us, what have you heard?
- Hero's Echo: "Courage, Honor, Tenacity, and Sacrifice. Their divinity was split into five parts... but we're missing one fragment."
- reason?" Hero's Echo: "Oh god-king... Where did you lose your
- Hero's Echo: "We will keep searching for it. We must find it..."
- Castorice: *cough* *cough* *cough*
- Castorice: *cough*... I never knew ferrying souls stuck in limbo could bring this much pain...
- Castorice: If only death didn't exist in this world. That way, they wouldn't have to linger here... and I wouldn't have to suffer.
- Gnaeus: ...
- Gnaeus: ...You don't have to listen to these spirits any longer. We've learned enough from them now. The people of Kremnos have tampered with Nikador's soul in some way. What we need to do is find the place of their blasphemous act.
- Gnaeus: Stay strong. We have not reached the end yet.
- Castorice: ...I'll be fine. Just give me a few moments... Let me send this lost soul into the gentle embrace of death.
- Castorice: The other side is beckoning to you... Go on, lost soul, rest in peace...
- Castorice: That... will do.
Proceed deeper into Castrum Kremnos and search for clues about Nikador[]
- Castorice: I am sorry... that you had to witness my earlier outburst.
- Gnaeus: I understand your pain, child. But you need to set it aside for now.
- (Halfway down the stairs between the double gates)
- Gnaeus: We are nearing the place where they cast and cut the souls.
- Gnaeus: It is likely no one survived this far in the festival. Stay alert.
- (Approach the marked location)
- Castorice: The Titan's kin... Be careful.
- Furiae Praetor: Warrior...
- Furiae Praetor: Entry... forbidden...
- Gnaeus: Has it lost its sanity? What a woeful creation. I shall put it out of its misery.
- Furiae Praetor: Split... soul...
- Furiae Praetor: Indestructible... body...!
- (Begin battle against
Furiae Archer ×2,
Furiae Troupe ×1,
Furiae Praetor ×1,
Furiae Philosopher ×1)
- Castorice: ...Is it dealt with?
- Gnaeus: No... I doubt it'll be that simple.
- Furiae Praetor: Split... soul...
- Gnaeus: An experiment...
What do you mean?
An experiment?
- Gnaeus: King Eurypon wanted to strip Nikador of his divinity and seal it within an intricate vessel for all eternity.
- Gnaeus: That's how he would immortalize Nikador's divine body... Of course, he had to test it out on a Titankin before going on to remold the Titan.
How are you so sure about it?
- Gnaeus: The answer's very simple...
- Gnaeus: ...Because the fragments of Nikador's soul are sealed in these statues. The calls that I've been hearing... are coming from them.
- Gnaeus: As long as we reassemble their soul and unite their divine core, they will recover their dignity as a Titan. You will then have a chance to triumph over them in battle.
- Furiae Praetor: Indestructible... body...
- Castorice: We've finally found the root of everything...
- Castorice: I'll find a way to stall it. To Titankin that have lost all reason, death is as intoxicating as nectar is to bees.
- Castorice: Please, you must find a way to make Nikador's soul whole again. It is only by fixing this point in history... that we can salvage the future of Amphoreus.
We can tap into the power of time again.
Ready to travel through time, gladiator?
- Gnaeus: Let's see what you can do, delver of memories.
Use Oronyx's Miracle to switch space-time[]
- (Talk to Castorice, optional)
- Castorice: Stay here, warrior... Do not leave your Goddess of Death. The enticing scent of blood here is meant for you, and only you...
- Furiae Praetor: Sweet... death.
- Furiae Praetor: Inner... peace.
- (Use Oronyx's Miracle)
- Gnaeus: ...Unbelievable.
- Gnaeus: This dark and derelict place... is this the future of Kremnos?
I can barely believe it myself.
- Gnaeus: The resonance between you and Oronyx must be strong.
Kremnos must have been through a lot since then...
- Gnaeus: History has taken a wrong turn... and must be set on the right course once more.
- Gnaeus: Much time has passed, yet the Titan's soul remains fragmented. That covetous king and his servants would have turned to dust by now... Their scheme that once unfolded here has likewise been buried with them.
- Gnaeus: You and I are both here to bring an end to this absurdity. So, join me comrade. Let us bring death unto that Titan.
Head to the Soul-Forning Platform[]
- (Approach the marked location)
- Gnaeus: The sounds of battle. That's...
From a time dimension very close to ours...
...My companions fighting against Nikador.
- Gnaeus: So, there are mortals who fight against fate even in this hopelessly bleak era. I am impressed.
- Gnaeus: But strength alone will not help them destroy an immortal body... That's why you and that girl went back in time seeking answers.
- Gnaeus: "Courage."
- Gnaeus: "Honor."
- Gnaeus: "Tenacity."
- Gnaeus: "Sacrifice."
- Gnaeus: "Reason."
- Gnaeus: There are only four soul-forged statues here. If they did split Nikador's divinity into five parts, there is still one fragment of the soul that is missing.
Let's just start with these first.
- Gnaeus: Agreed.
Wanna brainstorm a little?
- Gnaeus: There's no trace... Let's just start with these first.
- Gnaeus: Come, help me piece together Strife's divinity.
Nikador's soul has been severed into 4 parts by the Kremnoans and is sealed into the 4 statues in the Soul-Forging Zone. Insert the giant swords in these statues' hands into the base to release one fragment of Nikador's divinity.

Return the Soul-Forging Statue to its rightful place[]

- Gnaeus: I can hear... I hear it.
- Gnaeus: A part of Nikador's divinity is sealed within this...
- (Use Oronyx's Prayer to rewind time on the sword)
- Festival Noise: "We shall hereby seal the god-king's Courage within this sword vessel."
- Festival Noise: "A testament that they have never once retreated from a battle."
- Festival Noise: "Even against the formless black tide from beyond the dense fog, they alone have raised their sword and faced the enemy head-on..."
- Gnaeus: Nikador's Courage...
- Gnaeus: Break free from your shackles and return to your divine body.
- (Approach the marked location)
- Gnaeus: The voices... are starting to pour in.
- Gnaeus: Here lies another fragment of Nikador's divinity...
- (Use Oronyx's Prayer to rewind time on the sword first, optional)
- The Sword of the Soul-Forging Statue failed to return to its original place. Something is still missing here.
- Perhaps you should try using the Hand of Zagreus to restore the statue's base.

- Gnaeus: Nikador's Honor...
- Gnaeus: Break free from your shackles and return to your divine body.
- Gnaeus: I am listening...
- Gnaeus: Go on... Tell me your tale.
- (Use Oronyx's Prayer to rewind time on the sword first, optional)
- The Sword of the Soul-Forging Statue failed to return to its original place. Something is still missing here. Upon close inspection, you notice the body of the statue is incomplete.
- Perhaps you should try using the Oronyx Orb to reflect its whole body.

- Gnaeus: Nikador's Sacrifice...
- Gnaeus: Break free from your shackles and return to your divine body.
- Gnaeus: ...
Is... that it?
- Gnaeus: Hm... We're now left with the final missing fragment of divinity.
- Gnaeus: I believe I know where it is.
Where could the missing fragment of divinity be?
- Gnaeus: I was wrong all this while. The final fragment of divinity was never lost...
- Gnaeus: I believe I know where it is.
Time for a decisive battle with Nikador![]
Step Description
Gnaeus turns out to be a part of Nikador. Now aware of the agony of this world, he calmly merges with Nikador's long-decayed divine soul, fully completing Nikador. While that destroyed the god's immortality, it also means we're now face-to-face with a Titan at the peak of their power.
- (Approach the marked location)
- Castorice: Lord Gnaeus, are we almost there?
- Gnaeus: Yes... There is just one last thing to do.
- Gnaeus: No one knows when the black tide first appeared beyond the distant horizon, but when it slowly encroached upon Amphoreus's borders, Nikador was the first Titan to venture forth.
- Gnaeus: During the battle against the black tide, their sanity began to slip away... In their prime, the Titan could obliterate an entire archipelago with a single slash, yet they could not sever the root of this corruption.
- Gnaeus: They battled the black tide by sheer will alone, but ultimately succumbed to it. Before their divinity could be completely corrupted, they removed a part of it...
- Castorice: Could it be...
- Gnaeus: The fragment of divinity that they stripped away — the fragment they wanted to preserve the most — was Reason.
- Gnaeus: The Titan believed that their Reason would someday respond to their calling, to return to their body... and fulfill their sacred mission.
Are all these... versions of you from the past?
You're... a part of Nikador?
- Castorice: All of these... They're—
- Gnaeus: They represent countless failed endeavors. With your help, I can finally put an end to everything.
- Castorice: Lord Gnaeus... What do you intend to do?
- Gnaeus: Courage, Honor, Tenacity, and Sacrifice... they're all versions of me. Hearing the murmurs of these soul fragments has led me to a conclusion.
- Nikador's soul is corrupted beyond the point of salvation. Gnaeus:
What can we do then?
- Gnaeus: There is only one option.
How do we stop them then?
- Gnaeus: There is only one way to do so.
- Gnaeus: The seal that binds their divinity is already broken. As long as we complete the soul-forging here, Nikador will be whole once more.
- You will go into battle with a Titan nearly at the zenith of their powers. And when that happens, the glory of slaying a god will also be presented before you. Gnaeus:
- Castorice: ...What about you, Lord Gnaeus?
- Gnaeus: I will return to where I came from and become a part of Nikador's divinity once more.
- Gnaeus: In all likelihood, I will also be consumed by corruption. An inevitable course of action if we hope to end this madness.
- Castorice: You are willing to... sacrifice yourself for a future you won't get to witness?
- Gnaeus: This is my purpose, my origin. I am no mortal and I do not fear death... Even so, will you still weep for me?
- Castorice: All farewells in this world are sorrowful, Lord Gnaeus.
- Gnaeus: While we haven't known each other for long, I have learned much from you. In return, I'll teach you a lesson of mine before I go...
- Journeys and epics are only glorious and magnificent because all things eventually fade to dust. Gnaeus: Do not detest your talent and do not abhor death.
- Castorice: ...
- Castorice: ...The embodiment of Strife telling me about the majesty of the world...? What an irony...
- Gnaeus: Civilizations only grow under strife. Humans instinctively loathe suffering, yet suffering is the only thing that teaches them to stand unyielding and tall...
We can't put this off any longer.
I will do as you wish.
If this is meant to be... then I will fight you.
- (He/
She) knows what it truly means to go to battle. Perhaps (he/ she) can be your inspiration.
Gnaeus: - Gnaeus: If you die by my lance, then there's no need to reflect on what I said. But if you should send me to my grave... promise me that you will use my Coreflame to fuel a roaring blaze and continue the fight against the black tide.
- Castorice: On behalf of all the Chrysos Heirs, I... promise you.
- Gnaeus: I am Nikador, the Lance of Fury, the messenger of turmoil, and the embodiment of Strife!
- I am the scar that this world needs! Gnaeus: Remember this:
- (Cutscene plays)
-
- Phainon: Did you hear that?
- Mydei: What?
- Phainon: They've returned!
- Gnaeus/Nikador: Best me—
- Gnaeus/Nikador: —Grant me an end befitting a warrior.
- (Cutscene ends)
- (Begin battle against
The Giver, Master of Legions, Lance of Fury)
- Phainon: So this is Nikador's true form? It's incredible...
- Mydei: Well done on them... I was prepared to fight till the end of time.

- Aglaea: Master—
- Aglaea: —Now.
- Phainon: No longer must one wield a sword...
- Phainon: From here on, the world shall no longer know "strife."
- (Cutscene ends)
- Phainon: It's finally over.
- Phainon: Nikador's Coreflame...
- Castorice: Time passes quickly. It's been a long time since the last Titan fell...
- Castorice: Now that the Lance of Fury is no more, we Chrysos Heirs are one step closer to the genesis as foretold in the prophecy.
- Mydei: The silence here is stifling... This city feels so unfamiliar now that its Titan is gone.
- Phainon: You've exchanged thousands of blows with them... Your ears are probably just not used to this peace and quiet.
- Mydei: ...Hmph. What's next?
- Castorice: I have an agreement with the Titan... The Chrysos Heirs will take away their Coreflame and use it to start a bright blaze that'll illuminate our path onward.
- Phainon: You... spoke with Nikador?
They were protecting the world from something.
- Mydei: What did they say? Please, I need to know...
There was something out there that sent them into madness.
- Mydei: Something out there? Please, I need to know what it is...
- Castorice: Not now, Lord Mydei. I'll tell you everything once we return to Okhema.
- Phainon: Aglaea mentioned that... someone must touch the Coreflame and absorb it to become its temporary receptacle.
- Phainon: Mydei, do you...
- Mydei: ...This honor is yours. Isn't it something you've been longing for?
- Phainon: But you're more deserving of it... You sustained all these new wounds from fighting them.
- Mydei: If you have any idea how exhausting it is to fight a protracted battle...
- Mydei: ...Then you should know that pointless arguments are the last thing I want to get into now.
- Phainon: Meh, a little back and forth wouldn't hurt much. Coming to a decision so easily makes it seem like this is not at all a life-changing undertaking, you know.
- (Phainon approaches the coreflame)
- Phainon: Come with me then, Coreflame. The Vortex of Genesis is awaiting your return.
- Phainon: ...
- Dan Heng: Are you alright, Phainon?
- Phainon: ...I don't think I felt anything at all.
- Phainon: Or rather... it felt a lot easier than I expected? I had assumed that bearing the Coreflame would take... a lot more out of me.
- Phainon: In any case, let's return to Okhema and share news of our victory with the two demigods.
- (Mydei, Phainon, and Dan Heng depart)
- Mem: ...
- Mem: Leave, friend? Return, together?
Aren't you coming with us, Castorice?
Did we forget something?
I will always remember Gnaeus.
- Castorice: Although he was but a part of Nikador... he was nevertheless a hero in his own right.
- (Mr./
Miss) (Trailblazer). I will catch up with you later. I would like to talk to Lord Gnaeus again... one last time.
Castorice: Go with the rest, - Castorice picks up a piece of Gnaeus's fragments...

- Castorice: Lord Gnaeus...
- Castorice: ...Lord Nikador, can you hear me?
- Castorice: I know that your only wish right now is to rest in peace. But you are the only one with answers to my deepest doubts... So, forgive me for disturbing you.
- Castorice: Please, tell me... do you know where Thanatos is?
- The half of me that I've been deprived of since birth... I must take it back from them. Castorice: I must find them.
- Nikador's Corpse: ...
- Nikador's Corpse: (Titan's fragmented voice)
- Castorice: ...
- Castorice: I see... So even the Strife Titan has never seen Death in the flesh.
- Castorice: I will continue this arduous journey, even if I must travel to every corner of Amphoreus...
- Nikador's Corpse: (Titan's fragmented voice)
- Castorice: I understand... The Chrysos Heirs will fulfill the promise we made and see your unfinished work to its end.
- Castorice: Such a peaceful end is not befitting of you, the bringer of Strife into this world... But it's a good thing it's just me here. No one else can see what you look like in the final moments of your life.
- Castorice: Poets will still describe you as an embodiment of madness and corruption, the god of war who incinerated all of their glory. Yet, at this moment... I am willing to send you into the gentle embrace of death, to a sweet land full of blossoming flowers.
- Castorice: Farewell, Titan.
- Some time later...
- Tribbie: Agy, they're back!
- Phainon: We completed the mission, Tribbie! No broken limbs or severe injuries, just a fiery Coreflame in the palm of my hand.
- Aglaea: I can feel the Coreflame's warmth... Well done, Phainon.
- Aglaea: It has been far too long since Amphoreus last saw the birth of a demigod. Having you take Nikador's place will surely invigorate the spirits of those in the holy city.
- Phainon: I... want to be honest about this: I believe Mydei is the better candidate. He was once the crown prince of Kremnos after all, and much of his lifetime was spent fighting alongside Nikador.
- Phainon: He is more worthy of the title of "Strife" than I am.
- Aglaea: You have thought much about this, sweet child, but there is one thing you overlooked.
- Aglaea: The qualities you've mentioned are very likely the reasons Mydeimos refused this Coreflame.
- Aglaea: I do not doubt his strength and talents... In fact, he must have imagined himself becoming a god a thousand times over. But he turned it down because he does not want to lead his people down the same path again.
- Aglaea: So I will ask you once more... Have you made up your mind, Phainon of Aedes Elysiae?
- Phainon: ...
- Phainon: I am ready for this. I will shoulder the burden of divinity alongside the both of you... I am willing to make the necessary sacrifices.
- Aglaea: Very good.
- Tribbie: This day has finally come, Snowy. You've been wanting this all along, right?
- Phainon: If the prophecy hadn't found me back then... I would still be roaming the world aimlessly. Right now though, I live for the sole purpose of dedicating myself to the mission of the Chrysos Heirs.
- Aglaea: I never once doubted your resolve.
- Aglaea: This time tomorrow, the Chrysos Heirs will gather at the Vortex of Genesis to surrender the Coreflame that once belonged to Nikador, the Lance of Fury.
- Aglaea: Remember, this is unlike the unchanging rites our priests perform. No one knows the true cost a mortal must pay to accept Strife's divine authority. Your road ahead is still full of uncertainty.
- Aglaea: Use this time to properly rest, Phainon.
- Phainon: I understand. Until tomorrow, then.
- Dan Heng: It's so peaceful, as if nothing even happened.
We're protected by two demigods, after all.
There are others carrying the burden for them.
- Dan Heng: The people of Amphoreus must have extraordinary spirits to be able to enjoy their lives even in such troubled times.
- Phainon: ...They have Aglaea and Tribbie to thank for that. It is because of their protection that the citizens are able to enjoy peace.
- Phainon: Where did Mydei go?
- Dan Heng: He was exhausted, so he already went back to rest.
- Phainon: Our victory might not have been possible without your help. I'm sure you've heard enough words of gratitude, but it's only right that I—
- Phainon: ...Right, it would be the first time I thanked you. So, thank you for your help, uh... Miss Mem?
What's next for us?
- Phainon: Aglaea will gather us at the Vortex of Genesis this time tomorrow, where we'll perform a ritual to surrender the Coreflame.
- Phainon: She only mentioned the Chrysos Heirs, but if I invite you two... I'm sure she'll welcome your presence.
- Dan Heng: Is there anything we should know about this ritual?
- Phainon: From what Aglaea said, no one can predict what's going to happen, because each Titan's divine authority is unique. That's why I hope both of you can be there tomorrow. It'll bolster my confidence.
Aww, Phainon buddy, we've got your back.
- Phainon: Hahaha, that's settled then.
Oh, we charge a fee for appearances!
- Phainon: Uh, that can be on Aglaea's tab. She's also known as the Goldweaver. Doesn't that name alone sound wealthy?
Sure, as long as we don't oversleep.
- Phainon: Hahaha, I'll be sure to send someone to wake you up then.
- Phainon: The night's all yours, but get some rest before tomorrow's ritual. I should also take this time to sort out my thoughts... I'll see you soon, my friends.
- You and Dan Heng watch Phainon leave the bath...
- Dan Heng: Did you pick up on that, (Trailblazer)? He seems troubled.
Yeah, I did.
Pick up on what?
- Dan Heng: You should start observing people's body language and their microexpressions. You can learn a lot from them.
How can you tell?
- Dan Heng: From his body language and... microexpressions.
- Dan Heng: I guess it's understandable, seeing how he's about to experience something extraordinary. The Titans may only be the local gods of Amphoreus, but a mortal ascending to something else altogether... sounds like a lot to take in.
We have a lot to think about too.
About time we consider ourselves, too.
- Dan Heng: ...You're right. So much happened in so short a time that we haven't had the time to consider our own predicament.
- Dan Heng: Our car's scrap, we've lost contact with the Crew, and everything beyond the sky is taboo here...
I'm gonna lose my login streak.
- Dan Heng: It's a pity we can't send March a message, so she can help you finish your dailies.
Should've brought games we could play offline...
- Dan Heng: ...I do have some old-timey games with me, but I doubt you'd be interested.
- Dan Heng: Once Phainon's ascension ritual is over, we should start working out these problems of ours.

Dan Heng: For now though, let's just head back to the bath chamber to rest and gather ourselves.
Return to the private bath chamber and rest[]
Step Description
The battle with Nikador ends with the Chrysos Heirs' victory. We return to Okhema to rest and recover. Together, we will witness the return of the Titan's Coreflame and the start of the Coreflame's trial.
- (Investigate the pile of rubble in the Soul-Forging Ruins, optional)
- This place has been sealed off by the crumbled walls. The battlefield where you once faced Nikador has now become nothing more than a memory alongside the terrifying howls of battle.
- (Approach the marked location)
- Exhaustion envelops you... At this moment, no god of Amphoreus could pull your gaze away from this lounge chair.
- Mem: Aww, are you sleepy? I can see your eyelids growing heavy~
- Mem: Go to sleep then, if you're tired. Snoozy snooze... But isn't it always daytime in this city? How do you fall asleep like this...?
- Wait... Something seems off...
- ...Did you notice?
- Mem: Eep! I'll get embarrassed if you keep staring at me like that.
- Mem: Are there... knots in my fur? Is it my ears? No, they seem fine. Look, I can even flap them!
...You can say more than single words now!?
Wow, so you can speak in full sentences!
- Mem: ...Hmm? You're right! I am speaking in full sentences now!
- Mem: Wowie! It feels amazing being able to speak fluently! But... why do I speak in such a proper, un-cutesy manner now? I mean, referring to myself in standard first person and all.
Maybe it gives you more personality.
- Mem: Personality...? Hmph, you're always saying things I don't understand!
Why aren't your words enunciated?
- Mem: Right!? You noticed too? Hmph, no fair!
Ew, phooey!
- Mem: I didn't ask to be like this! No judging!
- Mem: Hmph, never mind, since I'm the forgiving type. Besides, now that I'm a bit more used to it... I don't sound as bad?
Wait, who are you really?
So, can you tell me about yourself now?
- Mem: Huh... I don't remember a thing about myself. Ugh, my head hurts.
- Mem: I have a gut feeling, though! As long as we continue to collect the fragments of memories scattered across Amphoreus, we'll be rewarded with something really, really good.
- Mem: How should I put it... Bah, anyway! I just know that this world is very important to me!
Sorry to burst your bubble, but I'm the protagonist here.
- Mem: Then I'll be the protagonist's bestest sidekick, heehee! So give me more screen time, alright?
So, once again, it's all down to one (guy/
gal) and (his/ her) dog. - Mem: I'm not a dog! Or a pet! I am...
- Mem: ...Uh, what am I? A—Anyhow, I'm an important character for sure!
We're an ensemble cast.
- Mem: Then I'll be the protagonist's bestest sidekick, heehee! So give me more screen time, alright?
- Mem: Hnngh... I think I'm getting sleepy. The light feels so nice and warm. Even my fur's toasty warm. I can fall asleep any...
I'll take a break too...
- Mem: Zzz... Zzz...
- Your consciousness sinks into dreams, and at the edge of the dreamscape, you hear a whisper...

- While you were having the strange dream, somewhere else in Okhema...
- Castorice: You should take this opportunity to rest, Lord Phainon... The Coreflame ritual is tomorrow.
- Phainon: Today, tomorrow, what difference does it make? It's always morning in Okhema under Kephale's protection.
- Phainon: So long as the light continues to shine this brightly, I won't be getting any sleep. Why force myself to shut my eyes when I can instead take this time to calm my mind and gather my thoughts? That counts as rest too.
- Castorice: Have you... thought things through then?
- Phainon: ...Not at all. Everything's a jumbled mess still. I don't even know where to start.
- Phainon: The Coreflame was blazing hot in my palm in the beginning, but it has completely cooled off now... I can barely feel it.
- Phainon: Miss Castorice... Does this mean I'm a good match for Nikador?
- Castorice: I don't quite get how it works, but if it's going to put you at ease... then I will say yes to that.
- Phainon: ...Thank you.
- Phainon: That's the Abyss in the distance... Oh, that reminds me of the question I didn't get to ask.
- Phainon: Back in the temple with the Scales of Justice, when Oronyx was trying to deter us... Why did you stop me, Miss Castorice?
- Castorice: ...
- "Something more important than the fate of Amphoreus"... It is far too cruel and unfair to ask that of you. Castorice: Because I knew there must be another solution.
- Phainon: You should know that I would've gone ahead if Dan Heng hadn't come up with an answer in time.
- Castorice: I know. We should not have hesitated then. I stopped you before I even realized it myself...
- Castorice: ...It's fortunate we had the both of them there with us.
- Phainon: Yeah, it's a good thing we had them.
- Castorice: ...
- the past, Lord Phainon? Castorice: ...Are you still thinking about
- Phainon: Every waking moment.
- Phainon: I lied to the two demigods just now. I told them the duty of the Chrysos Heirs is all I think about now. Do you think I managed to slip by Aglaea's golden threads this time?
- Castorice: No one fools her, Lord Phainon. She merely chooses to turn a blind eye to our lies.
- Phainon: You're right. How foolish of me to think I got away with it.
- Phainon: I often wonder if someone as ordinary as me can really become a hero. I thought defeating Nikador would quell the voice of doubt in my mind... but it has only grown louder.
- Castorice: ...
- Castorice: I don't have the right words for you now, but... I know you're far from ordinary, Lord Phainon. Mydei often calls you "Deliverer" in jest, but I don't believe he means it mockingly.
- Phainon: I should probably shut out these pointless thoughts and empty my mind until the hour of the ritual...
- Phainon: I did that before sitting for Tribbie's history exam — who in the world could hope to go over those piles of documents and slates? I decided I was better off resigning myself to fate. That way I'd get more time to play and practice with my sword.
- Castorice: ...How did you do on the exam then?
- Phainon: My score? I don't remember anymore. All I remember is Tribbie punishing me to a full week of cleaning the Chrysos Heirs' bath. And no one was allowed to help me.
- Castorice: So High Priest Tribbie can be strict too...
- Castorice: Please continue with this mentality, Lord Phainon. I believe you'll be alright.
- Phainon: Thank you, Miss Castorice. I think I'll stay here for a little while and keep all of those unruly thoughts out. It's not like anything will come of them, anyway.
- Phainon: The sights of Aedes Elysiae — my homeland — have been flashing before my eyes lately.
- Phainon: Those Kremnoans mastered some cutting-edge technology... If only I could separate my soul from my body too. That way, I'd be able to fly my soul back to the comforting fields of my homeland any time.
- Phainon: That's the only place I can be momentarily at peace...
- Switching to Herta's POV...
- Herta is preparing at the space station to commune with Nous the Aeon, but it seems the process didn't go so well?
