Ingenia (singular form ingenium) are a variety of mechanical technology used in the Xianzhou, made by craftsmasters of the Artisanship Commission.
Overview[]
Artifex's Modules are the foundation of ingenium technology and the smallest constituent of all machine parts. Breaking these modules apart would be akin to destroying the cellular structure of a living being.[1] Artifex's Cogwheels are the connective components, with teeth as small as mustard seeds, yet interconnected to form a complex body.[2] Artifex's Gyrehearts are the core of the technology. These armillary spheres roil and vibrate like the essence of a heart, making the machines think similarly to living beings.[3]
Suppressing Edicts are also used in ingenium technology, and are placed on aurumatons to suppress their ability to think.[4] The Aurumaton Gatekeeper is made with ancient ingenium technology.[5]
Various ingenia are constantly being transported on the deck of the Xianzhou Zhuming.[6]
