Etymology[]
- This achievement is a reference to the concept of three yāna (vehicle) in Mahāyāna Buddhism, depicting the three spiritual paths to reach enlightenment: Śrāvakayāna (path of the arhat "the hearer"), Pratyekabuddhayāna (path of the pratyekabuddha "the solitary awakener"), and Bodhisattvayāna (path of the bodhisattva "the enlightener"). Bodhisattva is the person with compassionate mind who attains buddhahood for the benefit of all sentient beings, which is likened to the Aeon of Abundance who granted immortality to anyone who sought it.
