The Republic of Glamoth is a fallen interplanetary nation based around Glamoth's star system, mentioned in Honkai: Star Rail.
Its history is mentioned in the Planar Ornament set Firmament Frontline: Glamoth.
Description[]
Not much is known about Glamoth before it was attacked by the Swarm except that it had the technology to build a fleet of warships that could travel around their star system and advanced genetic-engineering technology. They also had the industrial capacity to manufacture legions of mechas that could fend off and repel the swarm, and produce an army of clones to pilot them. This would ultimately backfire on them though as when the Swarm was finally defeated, the combined debris of mechas, warships and lepisma corpses around the star system continued to blot out the sun from their home planet.[1]
Glamoth's Republic was governed by a ruling council. While the Iron Cavalry believed that Titania was the Empress of the "Welkin Empire of Glamoth", it was actually the council that was behind the decision making of their civilization. Titania held no real political power, and was kept in captivity, simply being viewed as a weapon to telepathically control the Iron Cavalry, who the public never saw as regular independent humans.[2] As the war with the Swarm drew to an end, the population of regular humans began to dwindle and the Iron Cavalry outnumbered them. The citizenry and the council began to fear Titania and the Iron Cavalry as a threat rivaling the Swarm, and decided to have Titania restrained.[1][3]

Glamoth's Territories[]
Story[]
History[]
In order to turn the tide in the invasion of the Swarm, the ruling council resolved to alter the essence of humanity in an effort to adapt to the war and created a weapon "born to fight."
The result of all this was "Titania." The Empress, who held no power, telepathically commanded and controlled the Iron Cavalry knights connected to her. In the dreams that these warriors are woven into, the sole meaning of their existence is to guard Titania and her "empire." In their short lives, they studied, fought, received the Empress' commands, faced the enemy fearlessly, and died with honor.
The knights clad in mechanical armor were created to wipe out Swarm. Since then, the silver-white iron knights have traveled to and from the various star systems in the "empire", crossing the devastated territories and fighting back against the calamity that wiped out the galaxy. Under the Empress' command, Glamoth's Iron Cavalry charged across the skies, finally stemming the tide of enemies and bringing a moment of respite to the empire.
Seeing several arcs of intense fire from the Iron Cavalry's thrusters streaking across the night sky heading toward different star sectors of Glamoth became a routine that the residents of the Republic were most familiar with and also most terrified of.[8] New humans were continuously birthed from incubators and given numbers and missions, while old humans hid beneath steel barriers, anxiously enjoying the long-awaited peace they yearned for.[9]
But in the never-ending battle against their archenemy, the "empire" started becoming more and more like its adversary — more and more Iron Calvary flew high into the sky, blotting out the sky just as the Swarm did. The look people cast on the Empress and the cavalry turned to one of fear, a fear akin to what they felt toward the Swarm. The Iron Cavalry Regiment formed the last line of defense at the border of Glamoth, where the battle raged on endlessly. Upon their warships, the silent knights bore a mission, carrying the hopes of the entire empire, and faced the tides of enemies drowning out the stars.
No one knew when exactly the falsehood of the "empire" was revealed. Perhaps it was from the day when the old humans in Glamoth's territories fell below a certain percentage, or the day when scientists realized that the Empress was beginning to revolt against her captivity, or maybe the day when the Swarm's onslaught dissipated into thin air. All the people knew was that the Iron Cavalry gave their all for the non-existent "empire." After decades of bloody battles, the remains of warships, mechas and insect corpses turned into dense debris strewn throughout Glamoth's star system, connecting with each other to form a river of residua.
When the remnants of the Swarm no longer posed a threat and the leaders of the council rang the bell of peace, informing the citizens that they had dispelled the apocalypse and the republic would be ushered back into the light of day — What arrived was not daylight, but the beginning of another sunless night.[1] The leaders of the council discussed the post-war situation, passing judgment on Titania, who had never wielded real power. It is because of her control over the Iron Cavalry, whose power rivaled that of the Swarm. She was considered the greatest threat to the Republic's continued survival. People rang the bells of peace, declaring to the populace that the Swarm had dispersed, and the azure sky would return to the hands of the Republic.[3]
After that, the civilization known as Glamoth faded away, the long river of stardust and debris flowed silently along the void of space. Historians of the Intelligentsia Guild believe that the Republic of Glamoth was destroyed by the scourge of the Swarm. Another view claims that the Republic of Glamoth was destroyed by how it completely overshot its powerful enemy.[1]
Later, a remnant unit of the Iron Cavalry later initiated a scorched-earth operation against the Swarm at a location known as Rift Valley on an unknown planet or moon. The operation was successful, though the entire group, apart from Firefly, died in battle. At some point, she would later be found by Kafka who came upon her among the planet's debris and recruited her into the Stellaron Hunters.
Present[]
Several Iron Cavalry had survived the fall of of Glamoth, though it is unknown what has become of them.[10][Note 1] SAM, an alias used by Firefly based on the armor's acronym, became known as an infamous Stellaron Hunter and accrued a bounty of 9.723 billion credits.[11]
