Dr. Primitive is member #64 of the Genius Society, an Emanator of Erudition,[1] and a notorious criminal who was known for his atavistic experiments.
Profile[]
Dr. Primitive is an intergalactic criminal known for his planet-spanning experiments, ruining prosperous interstellar civilizations at the end of his work. For instance, Larose was once stranded on a planet maimed by Dr. Primitive, where the inhabitants were all transformed into apes.[2] He spent his life running away from interstellar pursuers for the great crimes he had committed. He seemed to enjoy the thrill of being pursued, always keeping a carefully managed distance from those who were hunting him, never too close to be caught nor too far to be untraceable. Astrophysicists from the Intelligentsia Guild could not understand the principles of his gravity-capture technology.[3]
According to a drunk Galaxy Ranger, Device IX is where all of Dr. Primitive's secrets lie,[4] and another potential Galaxy Ranger was able to sell his robes on Device IX's black market.[5]
Dr. Primitive has his own set of researchers who formed the AtaviSearch Forest faction. They are classified under various levels: BananAdvisors, Denisovans, Apes, of which they are classified into two categories: Combat and Research Apes.
Appearance[]
Screwllum does not know Dr. Primitive's true identity, but mentions that some believe that he is an inorganic entity due to his previous transgressions against humanity.
Story[]
The Galaxy Rangers were one of the groups that pursued Dr. Primitive. After thwarting the attempted rebellion by him and protecting the Thousand-Tree Greenwood on Vonwacq, the Rangers gradually started to decline.[6] It is rumored that they fell victim to Dr. Primitive's vengeance,[7] and while the specifics are unknown, there's a story spread by the Masked Fools that he turned them into gibbons, but Boothill dismisses these rumors.[8]
During the meeting on the Herta Space Station to find a fifth genius for the Simulated Universe project, Screwllum suggests that Dr. Primitive might appear, but Herta shoots him down as she prefers to keep the project scandal-free.[9]
His current whereabouts are unknown, but that hasn't stopped the Galaxy Rangers from looking for him.[10] After dealing with Professor Primon's memetic virus in Paperfold University, Mr. Reca offered to tell Rappa where Dr. Primitive went.[11]
