The Divergent Universe is a Game System in Honkai: Star Rail that serves as a streamlined version of the Simulated Universe which is periodically updated with new content.
At the start of a new Period, all progression from the previous Period is reset, except for Inspiration Circuit progress and Probability Museum configuration.

Overview[]
When clearing Ordinary Extrapolation and Cyclical Extrapolation in the Divergent Universe, stage clear data can be saved in a Save File. Save Files can be loaded in the Planar Ornament Extraction system's stages to directly perform Boss Challenges. Respective Planar Ornaments for the corresponding stage will be obtained with successful challenges. Save Files will only be reset when the Divergent Universe receives a major update.
When the Equilibrium Level is increased, the Planar Ornament Extraction system will unlock challenges of higher difficulties. The harder the challenge, the more rewards earned, and enemies will be stronger too. Boss difficulty in the Planar Ornament Extraction system is only linked to the challenge's difficulty, and is not related to the Save File's stage clear difficulty. Teams performing Boss Challenges can be freely swapped, and players may deploy 1 Support character to assist in battle.
After completing a challenge, players can choose "One More Time" to perform the same challenge while keeping the effects of used Techniques from the previous challenge.
Note that Arithmetic Mapping is not effective in Planar Ornament Extraction.
