Dialogue[]
- (Standard dialogue)
- Trash Can
- A trash can. Don't get close without courage.
- A Belobog trash can. Great place to hide something.
- A trash can. Once, when you were feeling down on your luck, you thought the two of you were a good match.
- It's just a trash can.
- You haven't missed anything. Nothing worth looking at in this trash can.
- There doesn't seem much point in investigating a trash can.
- (Investigate a trash can for the first time)
- Trash Can
- A trash can, not remarkable in any way.
- (Investigate a trash can for the second time)
- Trash Can
- You've been staring at it for a while, but it's just an ordinary trash can.
- March 7th: Ugh... What do you want to do?
- You try to hold back the urge to open it.
- (Investigate a trash can for the third time)
- Trash Can
- As you continue staring at the trash cans, they seem to turn before your very eyes. The edges are no longer rusty and the dents are smoothed over.
- From under the lid comes a faint golden glow, sweet and alluring.
- For a moment, the trash cans turn into treasure chests.
- March 7th: ...And it's happening again.
- You take a deep breath and open the lid: it's empty...
- Wait! You reach deeper into the trash can. There's a piece of iron scrap on the bottom. Your hard work paid off! You finally found the treasure!
- You look back at your companions and see their complicated expressions.
- March 7th: ...You don't need to explain. I get it. That urge is too great for you to resist.
- Dan Heng: There's no turning back once you've walked down this path.
- (Obtain Trash Can (Profile Picture))
- (Investigate the trash can next to the stairs northeast of the Everwinter Monument)
- Trash Can
- Scraps of paper are scattered all over the black garbage bags. They've been torn up so evenly that you begin to wonder whether this world may have discovered paper-shredding technology.
- Piece them back together.
- March 7th: Huh...? You're gonna piece them all back together?
- After who knows how long, you finally complete your great undertaking: countless paper scraps have become a wrinkled piece of paper. It was a letter from one citizen to another, but the radical content runs counter to standard notions of human hierarchy.
- The content is so scary that the letter disintegrates and drifts away on the wind as you finish reading it — never to be restored again.
- Ignore.
- Right, no point wasting time.
- (Investigate the trash can behind a bookshelf next to the Book Merchant)
- Trash Can
- An overwhelmingly fishy smell emanates from the trash can as you remove the lid. Instead of fish, you find only a fish-related flyer. Is this how synesthesia works?
- (Obtain Snapper Jam Appetizer)
- (Investigate the trash can by the railing behind and to the east of the Book Merchant)
- Trash Can
- A wrinkled handwritten flyer is lying in the trash can. You can just make out the following:
- "This will be our best price for valentines flowers for the entire year! Take this chance to send your loved one some flowers!"
- Considering all the other cliched advertising, this is pretty good.
- March 7th: Wow, I'd be so mad if someone gave me this.
- Don't worry, no one would.
- March 7th: Ahaaaa... You're so hilarious, (Trailblazer).
- What do you like to give as a present?
- March 7th: Flowers. I love flowers~
- March 7th: ...If they put it like that and I catch wind that they are on ordinary discount, on clearance, or picked up off the street, then those people are toast.
- (Investigate the trash can by the northmost Vending Machine and the north entrance to the underground station)
- Trash Can
- An unusually large paper ball. Upon unfolding, you find it contains wrinkled scraps of paper.
- 1. "I hereby tender my resignation. On this, my final day of work, I"
- 2. "I hereby tender my resignation. On this, my final day of work, I wish to be frank. Generally speaking, my job is uninteresting, and so"
- 3. "I hereby tender my resignation. On this, my final day of work, I wish to be frank. Generally speaking, my job is uninteresting, and therefore has no meening [sic]"
- 4. "Forget it. Time for work."
- Dan Heng: A few typos away from a new career...
- (Investigate the trash can by the eastern bench area in front of the Golden Theater)
- Trash Can
- The inside of this trash can is good as new. You've never seen a trash can this clean before...
- In fact, you've never seen anything this clean before. This trash can is like the universe's very incarnation of purity... Maybe we're going too far.
- Stroke the trash can.
- You stretch your hand out and gently stroke the trash can. A soft, tender, smooth, unconstrained, and tactile sensation travels up your fingertips...
- You feel a great sense of satisfaction — like that of some fairy tale princess who's just woken up from a night's sleep on nine mattresses stacked on top of each other. All concern, exhaustion, and sense of duty fly away...
- There's no doubt about it, this is the world's most beautiful trash can.
- Investigate carefully.
- You take a good look at it. The inside of this trash can is dust-free and perfectly dark. It's the kind of pure darkness that surrounds IX in a nebula of dark matter.
- It focuses your attention, and your eyes become fixed on it... You see yourself. You see March 7th and Dan Heng. You see the fate of the Astral Express and the end of the future...
- You force yourself to stop staring and everything disappears. It feels like a fantasy dream.
- Close the lid.
- Only you know how much courage it takes to avert your gaze from the world's most beautiful trash can.
- March 7th: What's up? What's in there? What's with your expression?
- "Nothing" you decided to tell her.
- (Investigate the trash can behind the Golden Theater Space Anchor)
- Trash Can
- Two trash cans. One for recycling dry garbage, one for recycling wet garbage.
- March 7th: So... where would you throw a coconut husk?
- Dry garbage!
- Correct. Coconut shell doesn't rot, and it's not toxic. You can't recycle it either, so it belongs to the dry garbage!
- You immerse yourself in the joys of sorting garbage...
- Wet garbage!
- Nope! Although coconut husk counts as fruit waste, it's hard and doesn't crumble easily. As such, it doesn't go in the wet garbage!
- I don't know.
- Garbage-sorting knowledge comes flooding into your brain.
- You immerse yourself in the joys of sorting garbage...
- (Investigate the trash can behind some theatrical posters behind Celine)
- Trash Can
- There is a leisurely elegance to the trash cans, which exudes commanding confidence. It may have something to do with the letter fragment in its possession.
- (Obtain A Letter Pieced Together)
- (Investigate the trash can next to the Golden Theater and Tamila)
- Trash Can
- A few tins labeled "Belobog Sausage."
- An unopened bottle of Jim Roger bread soda.
- A copy of the Crystal Daily with Supreme Guardian Cocolia on the front page, surrounded by Silvermane Guards. Crumpled paper ball.
- Some withered flowers whose thermal dome is broken.
- To understand a city, go through its trash cans.
- (Obtain Jim Roger Bread Soda ×1)
- (Obtain Achievement Don't You Dare Waste It)
- (Investigate the trash can next to the Goethe Hotel Space Anchor, adjacent to the Silvermane Guard Restricted Zone)
- Trash Can
- You find a wrinkled handwritten flyer in the trash can. Written at the top in beautiful handwriting you see: "The Rightful Rights Society."
- The content seems to be trying to convince people who have given up on interests and hobbies due to family and other responsibilities to join this strange organization.
- Members of the organization cover for one another and help each other get away from family or work on weekends (and even weekdays) in the pursuit of individual freedom. They call it "upholding our rightful rights."
- What a strange arrangement.
- March 7th: Actually, I'm a little tempted... Sometimes I wish I could spend a day doing whatever I want!
- Does this count as a charitable organization?
- March 7th: A good one! So considerate... Sometimes I wish I could spend a day doing whatever I want!
- Dan Heng: By which you mean: spend a day asleep in your cabin.
- (Investigate the trash can near the Central Plaza Space Anchor, adjacent to the Administrative District Shop)
- Trash Can
- Two trash cans. One stands glamorously shining, the other lies unceremoniously rusting.
- You want to help it up, but think better of it. Even trash cans have their dignity.
- (Obtain Sanctity of the Trash Can ×1)
- (Investigate the southmost trash can next to Amo)
- Trash Can
- A tracing paper envelope, black with silver lettering. If you found it next to a mailbox, you'd speculate that this flyer coupon was a love letter sent to the wrong address... but this is a trash can.
- It reads: "Today is Guardian Alisa's birthday. The recipient of this letter must forward it to three other people within a day, or bad luck will follow them for a whole year."
- You wonder what happened to the person who threw it away.
- (Obtain Belobog Sausage)
- (Investigate the southmost Trash Can by the stairs to the Goethe Hotel)
- Trash Can
- Someone threw a book into the trash can. You pick it up. It seems to be a lengthy serial novel by the name of Tale of the Winterlands. You seem to have the incomplete 4th volume in your hands.
- (Obtain Tale of the Winterlands: Spring Pasture (I))
- (Investigate the trash can by the locked gate, left of the Goethe Hotel entrance)
- Trash Can
- This trash can looks like it was set on fire. The entire trash can is deformed, with a layer of dark, scorched, ash-like substance coating the bottom. In the light, you see the particles floating softly, almost dancing.
- (Obtain Credit ×1000)
- (Investigate the trash can near a bench in front of the entrance to Backwater Pass)
- Trash Can
- You smell a strong stench as you approach the trash can...
- ...almost as if there were some strange, twisted, dark purple aura surrounding it, protesting in no uncertain terms: "no living entities permitted."
- Be that as it may, you gonna open it?
- Open it.
- While your astonished companions look on, you hold your breath and proceed towards the can like a soldier charging into a hail of bullets.
- Wait, why are you so interested in rooting through every trash can in the city? What do you have to gain?
- Chaaaarge!
- You decided to open the lid of the can with a determined mind. At your first glance, you saw that strange stinky thing.
- Suddenly, like an old monk sitting in concentrated introspection, you reach out and grab it.
- However, you fail to reach enlightenment given that your companions just ran for cover holding their noses.
- Retreaaaat!
- Wise choice. There must be something better out there in the world than what's in front of you. You don't know what that is yet, but it just stopped you from crossing an important line, which is good enough.
- I give up.
- Wise choice. You back away ten paces, take a deep breath, and let some fresh air into your lungs. Yes, this is real life, this is living. In life, you need to know how to give up.
- (Obtain Trash ×1)
- (Investigate the trash can near the entrance to Backwater Pass)
- Trash Can
- A pretty postcard is lying in the trash can. It reads: "Friend, you've crossed the line. This isn't something you should have touched. Signed, Garbage King."
- There is a coin glued to the back of the postcard. Seems like this king understands that you need to tip someone if you want them to pass on a message.
- Dan Heng: Seems like you've got yourself a real competitor when it comes to rooting through trash cans.
- March 7th: Why would he call himself Garbage King? Isn't he embarrassed?
- (Obtain Ancient Coin ×1)
- (Investigate the trash can next to a building with barrels in front and near the entrance to Backwater Pass )
- Trash Can
- You may have noticed that yes, there are an unbelievable number of trash cans in this city. Somebody did once propose to reduce the overall number, or to initiate some kind of garbage tax policy.
- But it only increased the amount of garbage on the street. Now people in this city have come to the consensus that trash cans are Belobog's other business card.
- (Investigate the trash can beside the southern entrance towards the underground station)
- Trash Can
- A nice-looking trash can, but that's all it really is: a trash can.
- (Obtain Pleasant-Looking Trash ×1)
- (Investigate the trash can opposite the southern entrance towards the underground station and next to two phone booths)
- Trash Can
- Two trash cans. One for recycling dry garbage, one for recycling wet garbage.
- Dan Heng: Where would you throw Pom-Pom's fur?
- Dry garbage!
- Correct! Pom-Pom's fur doesn't easily degrade and isn't toxic, so it belongs in the dry garbage!
- You immerse yourself in the joys of sorting garbage...
- Wet garbage!
- Nope! Never put animal fur in a wet trash can!
- I don't know.
- Garbage-sorting knowledge comes flooding into your brain.
- You immerse yourself in the joys of sorting garbage...
- (Investigate the trash can next to the Neverwinter Workshop and Manya)
- Trash Can
- A pretty postcard lies among the garbage. It reads: "Stay your hand. Only the following persons are permitted to go through Belobog's trash cans: Tatalov, Garbage King, and myself."
- It continues: "And the 45 members of the cleaning squad." There's nothing written on the back.
- You are confused.
- March 7th: Even trash cans are serious business in this city.
- (Obtain Credit ×1000)
- (Investigate the trash can to the right of the underground station's stairs)
- (Upon completing Trailblaze Mission In the Dangerous Muddy Swamp in the Chapter In the Sweltering Morning Sun)
- Trash Can
- Rumors are spreading around the city about "you." The whispers speak of a stranger that has rummaged through all the trash cans in the city — as if in search of something, trying to prevent something from being lost.
- The stranger came to the city by himself. His face is stoic and his movements sluggish. He rummaged through trash cans as if he was embracing a lost lover.
- Amidst the dancing whispers, the image of "you" gradually becomes more clear...
- "You" are a slim short-haired man who lost his hearing during a battle against a Fragmentum monster.
- One of "your" eyes is a fake eyeball made of condensed Geomarrow fluid.
- You hold a spear, which is both your crutch and your dear comrade...
- Dan Heng: ...
- You can't help looking at Dan Heng. He seems to be silently carrying everything on his shoulders for you.
