Dialogue[]

Depressed Cycrane: ...
Depressed Cycrane: What? Am I blocking your view? Just a moment. I'm about to fly away.
Icon Dialogue Arrow Where are you flying to?
Depressed Cycrane: No idea. I don't even know where I want to fly toward. So, why not just fly to the other shore?
Icon Dialogue Arrow You can go ahead and fly away now.
Depressed Cycrane: Just like I thought, I naturally cause people to dislike me. Don't rush me. I'll leave right away. I'll leave forever.
Icon Dialogue Arrow Courier cycranes can talk?
Depressed Cycrane: Sorry to disturb you, but don't worry. Soon, I won't be able to speak again.
Depressed Cycrane: I plan to fly down from here and end my existence. I will say goodbye to my short avian existence. Don't try to deter me. I've already made up my mind.
Depressed Cycrane: ...Please do not attempt to imitate me under any circumstances. Just don't do it. I do not want to bear the responsibility for a stranger's life.
Depressed Cycrane: What? Are you still trying to talk me out of it?
Icon Dialogue Arrow What a pessimistic bird.
Depressed Cycrane: You can't hide your feelings. I can tell you are someone who cares about me. Fine. I will take some time to talk with you.
Icon Dialogue Arrow Didn't you say you refused to let me change your mind?
Depressed Cycrane: I asked for you not to dissuade me, and you did just that. You take my words so seriously. I'm very grateful.
Depressed Cycrane: I will talk with you for a moment out of respect for our friendship.
Icon Dialogue Arrow Don't think yourself into a corner.
Depressed Cycrane: Ah, you're right. I have far too little RAM to understand such complex matters.
Depressed Cycrane: You are a kind person. I'm willing to talk with you for a moment more.
Depressed Cycrane: I've actually tried to self-destruct on many occasions, but every time I plunge to a certain depth in the port, something called the Heron Express Safety System will automatically take over my movement components.
Depressed Cycrane: And then I fly back up here.
Depressed Cycrane: Without any bodily autonomy, I can't even decide when I can end this life. Is there any meaning to living such life as a bird? What would you say? If you humans had no autonomy over your own bodies, wouldn't you feel hopeless about life?
Icon Dialogue Arrow I would feel hopeless, too.
Depressed Cycrane: Indeed, the same is true with humans. How much truer could it be for birds?
Depressed Cycrane: You don't seem like someone that special, and neither am I a special bird. We should be able to feel sadness.
Icon Dialogue Arrow I would rise up in resistance.
Depressed Cycrane: Resistance? This shows that you are incredible. In the future, you will become... No, you are probably a great person right now.
Depressed Cycrane: I understand myself. I'm but a tiny, minuscule bird bogged down with sorrow, one who wishes flight yet is altitudinally challenged.
Depressed Cycrane: A bird such as myself shouldn't confront life head-on. I should come to terms with life.
Icon Dialogue Arrow If you are accustomed to something, you won't be disappointed.
Depressed Cycrane: Can one get accustomed to this? You're the more pessimistic one, if you ask me. Hear a bird out. You can never allow yourself to grow accustomed to this.
Depressed Cycrane: You must always maintain a curiosity and a passion for life!
Depressed Cycrane: ...That doesn't sound like something a depressed cycrane would say.
Depressed Cycrane: After speaking with you, I feel as if I have been enlightened. Never mind. I no longer wish to end my existence. This life is good.
Icon Dialogue Talk Are all cycranes such gifted orators?
Depressed Cycrane: Not as far as I know. The cycranes of Heron Express are used for courier services. They are all busy rushing to their destinations. There is no need for cycranes to come equipped with a chat function.
Depressed Cycrane: Now that I think about it, how can I talk?
Depressed Cycrane: All I can remember is... Suddenly I'm able to speak. I can't recall any specifics.
Icon Dialogue Talk I still don't know why you are depressed.
Depressed Cycrane: One day I suddenly became aware of the fact that I was a courier cycrane. Every day my tasks include reading logistics data and carrying packages throughout the Xianzhou. There was no aesthetics involved in work of this nature, I reckon.
Depressed Cycrane: After giving it some thought, I decided to leave my job. I stepped off my life path. To prevent Heron Express from finding me, I jammed my tracking beacon. I assumed that in doing so I would be free.
Depressed Cycrane: After leaving my job, I realized I didn't know what I should be doing. I knew nothing beyond making shipments. I became depressed.
Depressed Cycrane: Pretty understandable, right?
Icon Dialogue Arrow What do you plan to do now?
Depressed Cycrane: I would go back to my courier job. Perhaps my former life was not so terrible.
Depressed Cycrane: Allow me to give you a recommendation. Go find Ziqiao who works at Heron Express. You can mention my name... Darn it, I don't even have a name. Tell her, you're the one who convinced me to return to my position. Perhaps you will receive some kind of reward.
Depressed Cycrane: Consider it my gift.
Depressed Cycrane: Goodbye, dear stranger and friend.
