The Cloudpeer Telescope, also known as The Eye,[1] is a device present in Honkai: Star Rail.
Description[]
The Cloudpeer Telescope is considered to be the ultimate astronomical observation device in the Xianzhou Alliance, and resides on the Xianzhou Yuque. It is capable of scrying into far distances as well as sending out information such as SOS signals. It is an important item to the Xianzhou, so much so that only the Master Diviner of the Yuque, Jingtian, has permission to use the device.[1]
It is described as a towering spire reaching into the sky. At the pinnacle of the tower, a light pulses to indicate the transmission of information.[2]
The Cloudpeer Telescope can also be used for navigational purposes in conjunction with the Matrix of Prescience Ultima, checking that the area a ship is navigating to is safe for travel.[3]
History[]
In Year 7900 SC, during the Cloudpeer Telescope's 33rd macro-sweep of the year, it would detect the Reignbow's manifestation, with trace elements pointing to three locations. Upon investigating, it was revealed that the worlds had been plundered by the Bluefang Pack, with them trying to turn one of the worlds into a nursery for their weapons. However, the Rainbowfall Fleet would met out punishment, with a famous victory being enacted.[4]
In Year 7954 SC, during the Cloudpeer Telescope's 6th macro-sweep of the year, the Cloudpeer Telescope managed to detect traces of Reignbow's Lux Arrow nearby Laevateinn-XVI. When the Cloud Knights' Vernalbolt Fleet arrived at the coordinates, the planet had been destroyed without any survivors remaining. It was categorized as a "deadworld," and deleted from the astral charts. The Xianzhou Luofu's Artisanship Commission successfully mined embers from the Lux Arrow out of the deadworld's debris. Meanwhile, their Alchemy Commission extracted biological samples to analyze the characteristics of this plague that had infected the populace.[4]
In Year 8072 SC, Yueyu and countless other Xianzhou soldiers would die protecting the Cloudpeer Telescope during the Third Denizens of Abundance War. Their success allowed the telescope to send a message out, summoning Lan to the battle and turning the tide.[2][5][6][7]
Twenty-six hours prior to the writing of Surveillance Report from the Xianzhou Yuque, the Cloudpeer Telescope captured signals from Reignbow's Lux Arrow traversing through three of its coordinates. The master diviner interpreted this as a divine mandate. As this report was found in the Seat of Divine Foresight, it is likely a very recent document.[8]
