It is said that as Kephale's divine radiance dimmed, they offered their own Coreflame and left behind the Oracle of Creation.
Afterward, heroes imbued with great power began to walk the earth. They carried in their veins golden divine blood and were known as the "Chrysos Heirs."

Loading Screen: Chrysos Heirs

The Chrysos Heirs are a group of people chosen by a prophecy from Kephale. Their purpose is to pluck the Coreflames from the Titans, and uphold the world, also called as a "Flame-Chase."[1][2]

According to the prophecy, a person that conquers a Coreflame's Trial will inherit its respective Titan's divinity, becoming a demigod.[2]

Notes[]

  1. 1.0 1.1 When Aglaea asks for Cipher's whereabouts in Trailblaze Mission A Cleansing of Gold, "Spirithief" Bartholos, one of Zagreus' followers, states that they work in the same trade. Aglaea then asks "Spirithief" Bartholos to pass on a message to Cipher: "As demigods, we can't avoid our duties forever," suggesting Cipher is a demigod and therefore in possession of the power of a Coreflame.
  2. While Phainon is currently undergoing the Trial of the Strife Coreflame, he occupies the Worldbearing slot in As I've Written, which is associated with Kephale.

Trivia[]

  • The term "Flame-Chase" is a reference to the Honkai Impact 3rd faction, the Flame-Chasers.
  • The Chrysos Heirs have golden blood known as ichor. In Greek mythology, Ichor is the blood of the gods.
    • In Honkai Impact 3rd, the Flame-Chasers are genetically altered super humans known as MANTISes. The procedure to become a MANTIS involves injecting them with a gene construct known as ICHOR.

Etymology[]

  • Chrysos means "gold" in Latin, which derives from the Ancient Greek term χρυσός khrūsós, also meaning "gold."
