Dialogue[]

(First Interaction)
Chavez: Young person, look over here! Just two minutes of your time can save you from future losses!
Chavez: Has a sneaky kid with dark blue hair ever come up to talk to you?
Icon Dialogue Arrow ...It rings a bell.
Chavez: You are likely a victim of the "Dark-Blue Scam"!
Icon Dialogue Arrow Isn't that Sampo?
Chavez: ... Sampo? You've been scammed! That's just an alias. That means... you're a victim of the Dark-Blue Scam!
Icon Dialogue Arrow I've never seen someone like that.
Chavez: You are likely a potential victim of the Dark-Blue Scam!
Chavez: Take my advice, that guy is a serial scammer. Don't believe anything he says!
Chavez: Here, take this. This is a tutorial on preventing scams written by the Dark-Blue Scam Victims Association. Read it carefully and if you have any questions, come to me!

(Continue onto dialogue options below)

(Subsequent interactions)
Chavez: I remember you, young person. Do you have any questions after reading the fraud prevention tutorial?
Icon Dialogue Talk Can I ask a question...?
Chavez: Go ahead! It's our responsibility to help prevent the public from being scammed.
Icon Dialogue Talk ...the Dark-Blue Scam Victims Association?
Chavez: That's right! The members of the Association are all former victims. We are united to share what we have learned and help the public by raising awareness!
Chavez: The guide goes over case studies of those who were scammed by the blue-haired swindler. It is evidence of his evil crimes, a painful lesson that we predecessors suffered.
Icon Dialogue Talk ...How were you scammed?
Chavez: The first time I met that guy, he asked if I wanted a "parallel universe printer."
Chavez: Well, I asked him how the printer works... and he immediately started rambling on a bunch of smorgasbord about science stuff. I was almost caught up in it.
Chavez: Terms like parallel universe, Aeons, and parity anomaly... Swindlers love to use these words related to the universe and Aeons to scam people!
Chavez: I didn't believe him until he used it to print money. He made two bills with the exact same serial number...
Icon Dialogue Arrow How much did you pay?
Chavez: Uh... the price isn't important. What's important is that you need to be careful, so the same scam doesn't happen to you.
Icon Dialogue Arrow Did the printer work?
Chavez: Of course not, otherwise why do you think I would have joined the association?
(Both dialogue options will lead to the following response)
Chavez: Ahem, sometime later, after the counterfeiting scam, I bumped into that same blue-haired guy again in an alley in the Commercial District.
Chavez: I should have had the Silvermane Guards arrest him, but I was so angry and I needed an explanation...
Chavez: Instead, he asked me with a straight face, "Were you staring at the printer?"
Chavez: He accused me of not reading the manual and wasting such a genius invention. He even offered to refund the full payment so that he could find another buyer for the parallel universe printer.
Chavez: He also said, "If the operator keeps staring at the printer, the parallel universe transmission can't happen. The only way to avoid interfering with the transmission process is to observe it with the help of an aether lens."
Icon Dialogue Arrow ...So you bought an aether lens?
Chavez: Doesn't that sound reasonable? So I was tricked again by his apparent sincerity...
Chavez: Now I know that nine out of ten people who try to associate their products with any kind of parallel universe theory are scammers!
Icon Dialogue Arrow Parallel universes actually exist.
Chavez: Haha, are you kidding me? Do you really expect me to believe that?
Chavez: Or... are you working with the blue-haired guy?
Chavez: Get out! If you don't leave, I'll have Silvermane Guards come and arrest you!
Icon Dialogue Arrow Wow, I am soo scared.
Chavez: Laugh at me if you want, just remember what I told you... Be careful with anything related to parallel universes!
Icon Dialogue Exit That's all.
Icon Dialogue Exit I'll be careful.
Chavez: That's right! Don't fall for his tricks!

(Included in subsequent interactions, upon completing Trailblaze Mission No Time for Me, My Friend)
Icon Dialogue Talk How have things been?
Chavez: Recently... I'm preparing an appeal on behalf of the Association. I plan on meeting with Lady Bronya.
Icon Dialogue Arrow Why the Association?
Chavez: Obviously, this issue involves the Association's fundamental interests.
Icon Dialogue Arrow Why Bronya?
Chavez: Because Lady Bronya clearly is the only person who can solve our issue.
Icon Dialogue Arrow Take it easy. If there's an issue, we can sit down and discuss it...
Chavez: Huh? What are you talking about?
Chavez: ...You misunderstood what I meant! All we want is to make Lady Bronya aware of the Dark-Blue Scam. This issue has implications for the peace and stability of Belobog.
Chavez: I heard that the Supreme Guardian Lady Bronya is far more open-minded than the former Supreme Guardian. She is encouraging people at Qlipoth Fort to air their opinions. Everyone has a responsibility to speak... Well, the Dark-Blue Scam Victims Association naturally isn't going to let this opportunity get away.
Chavez: Our request is quite simple. The Silvermane Guards should immediately establish a Dark-Blue Scam Special Task Force that will launch a city-wide search in Belobog to round up this blue-haired con artist...
Icon Dialogue Arrow What will happen after the task force catches him?
Chavez: That's easy. They should tie this wretched villain up and lock him beneath Qlipoth Fort to be questioned under torture. The interrogation would continue until he has confessed all of his crimes. After that, he'll be hanged outside the city...
Icon Dialogue Arrow ...That's ambitious.
Chavez: Are you praising me? I'll assume you are.
Chavez: The point is, we simply must find that blue-haired swindler. We cannot tolerate such criminal activity!
Icon Dialogue Arrow I suddenly feel pity for Sampo.
Chavez: Sampo? That con artist's alias?
Chavez: Don't ever sympathize with him! You'll either end up losing some money at the minimum, or even see your family fortune go down the drain...

Trivia[]

  • When "parallel universes" are mentioned in dialogue with Chavez, this is actually a mistranslation. The text uses 平行世界 Píngxíng Shìjiè meaning parallel world, as opposed to 平行宇宙 Píngxíng Yǔzhòu meaning parallel universe.
    • This mistranslation can also be found in the Anti-Fraud Guide, Edited Version
    • Within translation circles, "parallel universe" is often accepted as a correct translation for 平行世界 because most media do not distinguish between parallel worlds and parallel universes. Within the lore of this game however, they are two different concepts.
    • Honkai Impact 3rd makes the same error. In an attempt at consistency, the translators started replacing many instances where just "world" is mentioned with universe as well, which caused contradictions in its text.
