Dialogue[]
- (First interaction)
- Bernard: That boy is playing with his stupid rocks again. I have no idea what he wants to do with his future!
- Bernard: If he keeps doing this, we can't blame the other departments for looking down on us. He's hopeless! How is he going to achieve anything?
- Bernard: Sigh! The fleeting romance between men and women is an obstruction to the way of scientific research!
Why is Dpt. of Cosmic Geography looked down on?
- Bernard: Hey, kiddo, are you new here? How dare you ask me this question? Are you looking for trouble? Or are you an idiot?
- Bernard: Fine. Looking at your face, I assume you are not a bad person.
- Bernard: The stupidest rule of the space station is to divide talent and knowledge rigidly based on departments.
- Bernard: The second stupidest rule, which is a hidden rule, is that different departments are ranked on a hierarchy!
- Bernard: Eloquent people are well respected while quiet diligent researchers are called old-fashioned and stubborn. This is what the space station should change the most!
- Bernard: Ehem... But I'm just an old guy. It's not up to me to change anything. But if you ask me, young people should work hard to achieve what they want.
What are those rocks?
- Bernard: Hmph, those little things are my student's emotional sustenance. Gross.
- Bernard: Lesley is so young and promising. She's the only person who went to the Abundance segmentum to do research in this Amber Era. She won't even bat her eyes at an ordinary researcher from the DGG.
- Bernard: They only had a few interactions during their research, and he's already gotten ahead of himself!
- Bernard: He made a bunch of weird little rocks while Lesley is away. He carved the rocks, saying that's Lesley's face. He's really out of his mind!
- Bernard: If only he had spent his effort carving rocks into his research and made achievements like Lesley! Hmph! He's killing me!

- Bernard: Ah, it's you again. How can an old man like me help you?
I've got something to ask you.
Do you think Lesley likes Rocky?
- Bernard: If you ask me, that can only be his wishful thinking! That can only happen in his dreams!
- Bernard: Maybe there are so many rumors about that girl that everyone has forgotten one important fact — her individual capacities are simply extraordinary.
- Bernard: Lesley is more than a celebrity. She is a gifted scholar. She's the combined result of her genes and her own efforts. Even her sister Emily won't be able to achieve anything like that.
- Bernard: Lesley is a once-in-a-century genius while Rocky is only an ordinary researcher.
- Bernard: Tell me, do you think she'll like him?
Will you support them being together?
- Bernard: How am I supposed to comment on something like that? Would you prepare for an opening speech for the Genius Society? You won't!
- Bernard: It's just something impossible!
- Bernard: If Lesley really says yes to Rocky, he'll have to work hard. Otherwise, the gap between them will be too big and their lifestyles will be too different. Even if they are together, they will fight a lot.
- Bernard: I'm old. I can't bear to see people break up. If they want to be together in the long run, Rocky will have to toughen up himself!
- Bernard: Ehem... Look what I said! Nonsense! Nonsense!
How do you evaluate the invasion?
- Bernard: Expected, both for the invasion itself and the survival of the space station.
- Bernard: I had no doubt that any external attack will be unable to destroy the space station.
- Bernard: Because I know the worse issue lies in internal distortion instead of external disturbance.
- Bernard: If conflicts and contempts continue to exist among different departments, I'm afraid the space station will collapse before I die. Its own issue leads to its internal disintegration!
I don't have any other questions.
- Bernard: You are a youngster too. Your words are more influential than mine. When you have time, please talk to my student.
- Bernard: *sigh* It's my misfortune as well as the Department of Cosmic Geography's misfortune!
I shouldn't keep you.
- Bernard: You are a youngster too. Your words are more influential than mine. When you have time, please talk to my student.
- Bernard: *sigh* It's my misfortune as well as the Department of Cosmic Geography's misfortune!

Blue Signal Log to Bernard) - Bernard: I never thought you would visit me again, kid.
I'm here to return the other backup to you.
You must be worried about Rocky...- Bernard: You are someone who finishes what you started. This is the blue log... so you told him the truth.
He's willing to do anything for Lesley.
- Bernard: Hmph, only a Department of Galactic Geography imbecile who lives in poverty would think he has nothing to lose.
- Bernard: Fine... I would be ashamed if my student is a cold-blooded lizard.
He's even more impulsive than I thought.
- Bernard: Hmph, I knew it. I knew he'd leave the space station to look for Lesley.
- Bernard: But just when it actually happens, I think... I will miss him a lot.
- Bernard: After all, other than Department of Galactic Geography, I devoted the majority of my life to Rocky.
He may leave the space station...
- Bernard: Hmph, I knew it from the very beginning.
- Bernard: Just that... he's my student. I can't stand being the cause of his departure.
- Bernard: Haha, sometimes I really wonder if his naïve ambition is his virtue or weakness.
- Bernard: But I think it is "time" who threw this question at him, about love and Lesley...
- Bernard: So, let's see what answer time will give him.

Red Signal Log to Bernard) - Bernard: I never thought you would visit me again, kid.
I'm here to return the other backup to you.
You must be worried about Rocky...- Bernard: You are someone who finishes what you started. This is the red log... so you chose not to tell him the truth.
He's more fragile than I thought.
- Bernard: Right. He may seem rough and direct, but the fact that he loves writing poetry shows his emotions are more delicate than the average researcher.
- Bernard: He gave her his sensitive heart but got rejected by someone he cares a lot about. It's undoubtedly devastating to him. I heard he tore up all the poems. That's the proof.
- Bernard: However, on the bright side, your decision also gave him chance to toughen up.
He tore up the poems he wrote.
- Bernard: Did he? He must be devastated. I feel sorry for those poems...
- Bernard: Hey, what's that look on your face? I admit I did say they are "cringy", but I'd never ignore Rocky's efforts despite thinking think [sic] he should focus on his research.
- Bernard: Those poems are records of his feelings. To some extent, they are part of his life. It's a shame that he tore them up. However...
Do you think he'll be able to pull himself together?
- Bernard: Not at all! You choose your own path and suffer your own consequences. An old man like me can do nothing but worry.
- Bernard: Your concern is not groundless. I heard he's torn up all of his poems... Well, some researchers cut their hair after a breakup, symbolizing a new start.
- Bernard: With a couple of good meals and a good rest, he'll throw himself back into his research, or even indulge himself in a random hobby... I'm sure he'll get over it sooner or later.
- Bernard: No matter how bad the situation is, young people can put it behind them in a blink of an eye. Life is long, we all have to live our lives.
- Bernard: Some regrets will always stay in your life. Even at my age, there are regrets I can't let go of. By then, your regrets will become your life-long partner.
Everyone needs a partner...
- Bernard: I hope you can find a partner who's loyal to you. And I hope this partner will never become a regret in your life.
I don't want such a partner.
- Bernard: That is a bold idea. Unfortunately... Things don't always go the way we want.
Seems there's a story behind it.
- Bernard: Haha, there isn't. Don't overthink it, young one.
- Bernard: By the way, Rocky didn't destroy all the poems... I kept one.
- Bernard: He wrote this after I told him a story about a couple who was separated by time and space.
- Bernard: Keep it. This is a souvenir for you.

- Bernard: Ah, it's you again. How can an old man like me help you?
I'd like to know...
Any news about Rocky's whereabouts?
- Bernard: Hmph, that ungrateful brat has long forgotten about me. He never sent me any messages, let alone his whereabouts. And here I am, logging onto the terminal every day to see whether there are any unread messages...
- Bernard: But... his vital signs always appear normal based on the reading. He's probably okay.
- Bernard: Maybe he's got a bad signal where he is.
Is everything all right without Rocky around?
- Bernard: Ugh, don't even get me started. I was absolutely livid when I first realized Rocky had left.
- Bernard: Thankfully, my results from the Medical Department are pretty good, and I feel I'm in good enough health to wait for this silly boy's return.
Does anyone else know about this?
- Bernard: It doesn't matter, my silly apprentice is not in the space station anyway.
- Bernard: Besides, what use would that be even if they knew? It's not like they're gonna drag Rocky back...
I don't have any other questions.
- Bernard: Ahhh, Rocky, my silly apprentice... I've never blamed you for leaving, but when are you coming back...?
I'll leave you alone.
- Bernard: Ahhh, Rocky, my silly apprentice... I've never blamed you for leaving, but when are you coming back...?
Trivia[]
- Bernard left a comment in Curio Management Log (I), chiding the researcher above his comment. The unnamed researcher, whose name was redacted, is most likely Rocky.
