A timeline of historical events within or involving the Antimatter Legion.
History[]
Founding[]
Sometime after the Swarm Disaster, Nanook ascended as Aeon of Destruction. At some point, THEY created the Antimatter Legion, and begun a crusade across the universe.[1] This crusade resulted in the Wingweavers base of operations suffering severe damage and relegating the race as a minor mercenary race among the Denizens of Abundance around Star Calendar 5320.[2] Some people also speculate that they also enslaved the Houyhnhnms as Voidranger: Tramplers.[3]
The Antimatter Legion would destroy many worlds in their path, and Nanook would take notice of those who particularly reveled in destruction. Nanook would share THEIR power with them, becoming THEIR Emanators, or more well-known as Lord Ravagers. Each Lord Ravager faithfully follows Nanook or the path of Destruction, with each one having their own preferences in carrying it out.
The Legion gifted the dying planet Warforge to the Firesmith clan, who would reforge the legion's soldiers to gain the power of Destruction[4], including the Lord Ravagers themselves.[5]
At some point, one of the Lord Ravagers, Zulo, was killed by the Galaxy Rangers in "Operation Zulo,"[6] where they lured a large Swarm group towards his fleet and successfully assassinated him in the operation. Following Zulo's death, Nanook had Celenova succeed him as a Lord Ravager.[7]
The Antimatter Legion invaded Guinaifen's home world of Camelot, destroying it and killing its inhabitants, including her father and mother, who stayed behind in a futile attempt to defend the planet.[8]
Roughly 700 years before the events of the game, the Antimatter Legion invaded Jarilo-VI. The people fiercely resisted the invasion, but despite financial aid from the Interastral Peace Corporation (who fled upon learning of the invasion), the Antimatter Legion was seemingly on the cusp of victory after 30 years of fighting. However, the planet was host to a Stellaron, and the Supreme Guardian of the time, Alisa Rand, convinced it to help her protect the planet. The Stellaron answered her call by causing a massive blizzard known as the Eternal Freeze, stopping the Antimatter Legion in their tracks. The invasion was stopped, and the Legion did not make any attempts to return to the planet.[9]
According to legend, when The Family arrived on Penacony, the Antimatter Legion attacked the planet. The Family held a special Charmony Festival, summoning the Harmonic Strings Aelenev. Aelenev made quick work of the invaders, and it is said that the Antimatter Legion have not dared to return to the planet.[10]
Antimatter Legion units led by Celenova would face setbacks from the Xianzhou Alliance ships Yaoqing, Zhuming and Fanghu, with their Cloud Knights fighting her legions fearlessly.[11] Around 5700 Star Calendar, she would request a temporary ceasefire with the Zhuming, asking them to attack the homeworld of the Wingweavers.
The Legion also invaded the Yvanna Chain, destroying a third of the stars in the chain. Further investigation led to the Legion being the prime suspects, as they discovered an unidentified, light-absorbing flocculent material that was believed to be something eating the stars. They wiped out resisting worlds on the chain.[12]
In 2156 AE, some of the Legion's vanguard were about to attack several IPC trade routes. This attack was foiled when the IPC used the newly-developed Imaginary Implosion Pulse against them.[13]
Current Activity[]
The Antimatter Legion attacked the Herta Space Station for reasons unknown, causing casualties among the crew. The attack served as a diversion for Stellaron Hunters Kafka and Silver Wolf to infiltrate the facility and find the Stellaron that she had kept inside. They are successful in doing so and leave the Trailblazer, resulting in them being found by the crew of the Astral Express. With their help, the Antimatter Legion was repelled from the station, though a few stragglers still remain.
The Lord Ravager Phantylia would infiltrate The Xianzhou Luofu and made contact with the Disciples of Sanctus Medicus and a merchant named Luocha, where they would smuggle a Stellaron into the ship in order to revive the Ambrosial Arbor to cause internal strife and chaos. However, the Stellaron Hunters learned of the threat and managed to convince the Astral Express to make a detour to the Luofu, as Elio foresaw that they would need allies in their fight against Nanook. The initial plan was successful, though due to the arrival of the Astral Express, Phantylia was forced to shed her disguise after being compromised by a dying Dan Shu. She called in a large group of Antimatter Legion soldiers while making her way to Scalegorge Waterscape, where she stole a massive and powerful body generated by the Arbor. Eventually, she was defeated and abandoned her newly-acquired body, and the forces she had sent likewise retreated.[14]
The Legion is currently attacking the planet Edo Star[15]; the current status on the invasion is unknown, but likely making progress due to a decrease in distress signals from the planet.[16]
After her defeat on the Luofu, Phantylia would take on the persona "Mangas" and began uniting the borisin, who had been severely fractured following Hoolay's capture.[17]
