Ancient History[]
In the beginning, the world was pure chaos until the gods cast down the twelve Coreflames, from which the Titans were born. Three Titans carved the heavens and earth, three wove the threads of fate, three molded life with their hands, and three guided "calamity's gate." Civilization thrived under their guidance until the "heretical black tide" came from beyond the sky. It drove the Titans to madness and the humans to mutual war. A millennium of conflict raged, dimming the Coreflames and bringing an end to the age of the gods. A prophecy foretold that golden blood will "converge into a boiling river that flows to the heroic heirs of this world." It named the Chrysos Heirs, who will "pluck the gods' Coreflames" and once more uphold the world.[1]
Slowly, the cities began to fall, with the "Eternal Holy City" Okhema being the last refuge for humans and their allies to live in. The demigods Aglaea and Tribbie would help guide humanity until their time was over. Aglaea also enforced a strict rule forbidding people to indulge about the skies above, likely related to the prophecy.
Discovery[]
- After leaving Penacony, Welt considered travelling to either Lushaka or Melustanin, as the Astral Express was dangerously low on fuel due to the prolonged stays in the worlds they had recently been to and could only make two more warps before running completely dry.
- Before Welt could initiate a vote with the Trailblazer, March 7th, and Dan Heng, Black Swan suddenly appeared and interrupted the conversation due to overhearing how the Express obtained fuel. She claimed that if they could lay down a track connecting to Amphoreus, they would never have to worry about running out of fuel ever again.[2] Because of this, the crew ultimately votes to go to Amphoreus.
- Pom-Pom makes the warp to the location, and Black Swan reveals the planet with her powers.
- At the same time, March 7th falls sick for unknown reasons, and both Black Swan and Sunday are unable to find the root cause of her illness. This forces Himeko to use a backup plan that requires the Trailblazer and Dan Heng to go, with Pom-Pom detaching a segment of the Astral Express to use as a safe haven. Everyone else stays behind.
- As the two descend onto the planet, they are attacked by an unknown entity and cause their car to crash.
- The two discover civilization and eventually signs of life. They meet with the heirs and repel an attack from the Strife Titan Nikador. During their walk around town, they are met by a man named Damionis, who helps them take a photo. However, he also goes through the camera's albums and discovers that life exists beyond the skies, spreading rumors about March 7th.
- While the two put an end to the rumors with Mydei's help, Aglaea interrogates the two with the threat of death by Castorice as the Trailblazer had broken their promise with her. They either convince her of their good intentions or are saved by Phainon at the last moment, though she reveals to Tribbie that it was simply a means of building trust, as she knew that Tribbie would have intervened if she was following on her threat.
- The Strife Titan Nikador's castle is discovered, and Aglaea sends the Trailblazer, Phainon and Mydei to defeat it.
- However, they soon discover that the Titan created a second, indestructible body and is focused to destroy Okhema, prompting Mydei to battle it alone while sending the other two back to inform Aglaea of the development.
- Aglaea sends them with Castorice to obtain an audience with the Fate Titan Oronyx, overcoming its trials. Oronyx initially refuses to help, but soon makes a connection with the Trailblazer, who realizes they could help them find "Mother." The deed causes Fuli to gaze upon the Trailblazer, granting them the Path of Remembrance, and Oronyx has the memosprite Mem accompany them.
- After going into the past, the Trailblazer and Castorice manage to restore Nikador's true form and defeat it in the present, acquiring its Coreflame. Phainon later undergoes a trial with the Coreflame by himself.
