"Umbra Headmistress" is a mission-exclusive NPC encountered during Banana Outrage: Battles Without Ninja and Humanity.
Profile[]
Umbra Headmistress was one of the people in charge with experimenting on Rappa. "Umbra Headmistress" is not her actual name — rather, it was one given to her by Rappa during her time in a facility affiliated with Dr. Primitive.
History[]
Umbra Headmistress worked with "Master Kucha" as a colleague, both being Denisovans at "Laboratory 17" to develop a stronger human. Utilizing genes from 32 atavistic primates, they took care of a girl known to them as AK-A-3 and injected them into her.
As the Galaxy Rangers were pursuing anything linked to Dr. Primitive, the research facility that the two were in was sealed off and made untraceable. To help entertain AK-A-3, Kucha shared ninja manga with her, thus resulting in AK-A-3 becoming obsessed with ninja training and calling him Master Kucha. When Kucha suggested implanting a memetic virus to increase her mental resilience, the Headmistress believed he felt sorry for her, but allowed him to do so, warning him that the Research Apes weren't happy about letting AK-A-3 running around the facility. As they performed memetic etching on her, she asked him why she was talking about ninjas, and he explained why. She told him to not go overboard with putting useless information on her.
The Umbra Headmistress later reported Kucha's behavior to the Research Apes, claiming that he was putting her in the wrong direction. The Research Apes agreed with her reasoning, granting her full custody of AK-A-3 and promoting her into an Ape for her report. When Kucha confronted her over the report, she told him that she would raise her in a better environment, as he had raised her to be a "lunatic" due to her obsession with becoming a ninja. He tried to appeal on morality, but she denied his claim, believing that it was a cause of suffering. She also intended to experiment on her further, despite his pleas that AK-A-3 would break. Later, she told her to destroy the manga that Kucha had given her, and she reluctantly did so under the assumption that it was a test from Kucha.
Eventually, AK-A-3 snuck into a storage facility and caused trouble to the Research Apes when they confronted her, prompting the Umbra Headmistress to inform Kucha that she would be replaced, though he appeared to have convinced her otherwise despite her telling him that he was responsible for making her "insane." Sometime afterwards, Kucha became disillusioned by what their research had gone to, and told Rappa to thwart the evil plans of Dr. Primitive (who she called Evil Ninja Osaru), telling her to disable the facility's security with digital graffiti. The Headmistress ordered him to fix the security before the Galaxy Rangers were alerted and left to oversee other areas, but later returned to find that both Kucha and Rappa were responsible for the security breach.
Angered that Kucha had betrayed the entire facility, the Headmistress called him a research fraud and ordered her accompanying guards to eliminate the duo. Rappa eliminated the guards, much to her shock, as Kucha explained that they had raised her together and she had shown her power, asking what had made her a failure. Kucha ordered Rappa to leave, and shortly after she did so, he pulled a gun on the Headmistress, claiming that he now understood morality was hypocritical and superficial. She tried to appeal on their friendship, but he was unconvinced and fired the gun, killing her.[1]
