This land of the undead was once Styxia, "City-State of Dragons and Waves." Phagousa ultimately could not grant blessings for the River of Souls. Over time, people gradually began to forget.
Styxia was originally a waterfront city. Long ago, however, the river beneath the bridge was not the River of Souls, and its inhabitants were neither undead nor monsters.
The remains of a dragon pierce through the elegant courtyard, where everything lies in slumber. Hidden in the corners are fragments of someone's time and space.
Followers of Oronyx built their own temples in various city-states. Their interactions with one another seem far more extensive than the world realizes.
Ghost I: My friend... stay here. Remain in the nether realm with us and savor this eternal, serene moonlight together...
Ghost II: Warrior, lay down your arms... There's no need to return to the bloody battles of that noisy mortal world. That burden is no longer yours to bear...
Ghost III: Crown prince... is that you? Are we still on the march to conquer Aidonia? Look, the snowy plains are stained red, littered with limbs... Did we win?
Ghost III: Crown prince, why do you ignore me? Why do you stay silent before comrades who died loyally for you?
Mydei: ...I'm sorry. I cannot... turn back.
Listen
Eurypon: Valorous death before glorious return. My son, you refused to fall in combat and insisted on returning to the mortal world. Do you still dare call yourself a Kremnoan?
Eurypon: Think you still have the right to sit upon the throne of the great kingdom that you destroyed? I don't think so.
Mydei: ...Shut up.
Eurypon: Since when did the Kremnoans grow so weak as to become someone else's quiet support? After all, you and I both thrive on strife and fear...
Trianne: Hmm... All done! But I feel like something's still missing...
Mortis: This looks amazing! But isn't it missing those two friends from beyond the sky that you mentioned before?
Trianne: Oh, you're right! That was close. Let us think... How about adding them in the corner of the painting?
Trianne: Little Gray and Dannie are such good people — they definitely wouldn't blame us, hehe.
Trianne: Being all alone in the nether realm makes it feel like we've forgotten so much... It's such a bad feeling!
Trianne: Luckily, you're here to keep us company. When telling you stories, we recall so many past experiences.
Mortis: Heh... I've wandered this place for so, so long, and I've forgotten literally everything about my life before.
Mortis: The only thing I remember is a promise I made to someone dear to me: "See you tomorrow."
Trianne: Really? That's our favorite goodbye! Every time we part ways, we would say, "See you tomorrow!"
Mortis: Yes, "See you tomorrow." What a beautiful wish...
Mortis: ...Perhaps it's time to say goodbye, Trianne. I'd like to wander around some more... Guess it'll help me recall more things.
Trianne: Alright! We will sit here and wait for Little Cas. While looking at this painting, we won't forget our friends.
Mortis: Farewell, Trianne. Thank you for keeping me company for so long.
Trianne: It's us who should thank you. You're so gentle, reminding us of our mom... See you tomorrow...
Trianne: May we reunite on the fragrant shores of the western wind!

Listen
The tower of Styxia, the crumbling walls, the twin moons pouring down their radiant light, and the blooming Antila.
Within Oronyx's miracle, this place appears utterly deserted—
...Perhaps the memories of this place require no Titan's power. They belong solely to you and her, from that time.
You remember, right here, how she revived ancient alchemy and summoned the broken corpse of Netherwing from the River of Souls.
You remember her, here, riding Netherwing down the River of Souls, returning to the nether realm to claim the authority of Thanatos, and gently pushing you back to the world of the living.
You remember her, here, stepping out from the moonlight to embrace you — the warmth, the sweet scent, the whispered words by your ear, all so vivid... She finally got the embrace she had always wanted.
After that, she returned to where she belonged, to fulfill the duties she was destined to complete...
She left you a small garden — a testament that moment wasn't a fleeting dream but a true memory.
Castorice: The place I'll be going to is what humans call the land of sorrows.
Castorice: But with this heartbeat, and the residual heat of this embrace...
Castorice: I shall turn the nether realm into a gentle place of rest.
Castorice: This embrace may be brief, but it's the proof that I once "lived."
Castorice brushed against the petals, with motion gentler than the faintest breeze.
Cipher: There are 12 Godspeed Coins left. It should be enough if I'm only buying time for the little Deliverer, right?
"Spirithief" Bartholos: Boss, are... are you really going to do this? You're absolutely sure? No takebacks?
Cipher: Hah, what's wrong? You scared?
"Spirithief" Bartholos: No, I'm just worried... You know, that fellow in black is ridiculously strong—
Cipher: Are you scared of death, Bartholos?
"Spirithief" Bartholos: ...Hm? Why are you asking this all of a sudden?
Cipher: Heh, it's nothing, I just want to tell you that I'm not. I'll simply reunite with Princess Homebody, that's all. What's there to be scared of?
Cipher: What I'm afraid of is... that my final moments won't be of any value to this world, just like my people.
"Spirithief" Bartholos: ...
"Spirithief" Bartholos: I... I feel the same way, Boss. If I don't get to perform the greatest deception... "Trickery" with you once, I won't be able to rest in peace!
Cipher: Heh, I knew you'd say that. Come on, just follow our plan — you have to stay with big sis Tribbie and Trinnon.
Cipher: Remember: you're merely a letter now, don't make any noise to scare them.
"Spirithief" Bartholos: I... I won't disappoint you, Boss!
Cipher: Ha... Who would have thought that our final trick would be built on unconditional mutual trust...
