Could it be related to what Himeko and Welt had to see Ruan Mei about? This could be a concurrent storyline with the Xianzhou and could be explored via "flashback" (like the story structure in 2.4/2.5).

Himeko and Welt mentioned something about fossils or something of the like with Ruan Mei. Knowing her, she's up to something like resurrecting an ancient monster or recreating it in some sense (what are the odds it's another boss?)

A crack theory is she will revive a "dead" character, maybe even someone playable like Tingyun (if she's really dead). I also thought Jiaoqiu would die but be revived this way...

My other theory was Luocha having the ability to revive someone. They revealed in the dev notes that Luocha's backstory will be revealed more. What's in the coffin? I originally thought that was just Jingliu and Luocha was smuggling her in via this way. But what if it's the REAL Tingyun?!
