Depends on which crowd we're talking about.

If it's the crowd that acts like she's the absolute worst support in the game and isn't optimal for any DPS in the game, then no, she's not as bad as they say.

But if it's the crowd that says she's not a top choice for all of the Chrysos Heirs, which are the characters she's supposed to do the most for, they are correct. Her ult charge timing isn't as bad as some make it out to be, but it's a problem for certain teams

Cyrene to Remembrance TB: "You enable TruE damage to a single unit, after a long charge up time, and that's the only thing you can do, yet you're considered a good unit. I can do a full team TruE damage enabling with only my basic skill and a lot more, yet I'm called a bad unit, that doesn't seem fair."

She takens some effort to build, but i got a 23 / 179 crit with 180 speed as needed, shes a good support and as a dps at e0 s1 works well. honestly, ult charging is a hassle, but its 2 ult in 1, so think of charging two ults. Support wise, good pick for cassy and phainon, idk about the rest.

^^ From what I've heard:

• Negligible value for Aglaea and Hysilens.

• Very good Sunday replacement for Mydei (especially alongside Cerydra), less impactful for Anaxa but still pretty good

• Castorice is more QoL but it fixes her biggest problems, good upgrade for Anaxa.

• Actually not too great for Phainon since you lose access to everyone else's Ults,

• Evernight's buffs look small but they are impactful, especially in mono-Remembrance teams.

I mean... think of her like fugue, but worse somehow. fugue is an hmc sidegrade/replacement, her niche is break teams, which is basically dead atm, but still has a chance to rise when hoyo release new break units (that doesnt pwc her specifically)

Cyrene is an rmc upgrade/replacement, her niche is chrysos heirs/remembrance teams, which is very much meta atm, but nothing's stopping hoyo from bricking them in 4.x. i said she's worse because when the heirs fall off meta, so does she, and there can be no more chrysos heirs after this (except sp(s) but she cant buff them, novaflare can give her a chance though). as for remembrance teams, i think it's more like castorice premium teams since idek if she's that good for future remembrance dps(es) thanks to her abysmal non ch buff (seriously, 40% dmg for 2 turns? after all that animation?). and i think that's her biggest problem: she is virtually non-future-proof. even cerydra has some degree of future proofing due to her niche (skill oriented dps).

(oh yeah about the TruE dmg thing, cyrene's a lot more is only for chrysos heirs, so... checkmate? and rmc also has 100% aa and big team-wide cdmg buff and 10% cr for the single unit, and they're free so uhhhh... not much to argue here i just think rmc is t0 for a lot more than just a single target TruE dmg buff)

Tl;dr: she's not THAT bad (bis for 3 or 4 teams iirc, especially castorice), but let's just say that she's too niche for her own good. (i dont need her to be tribbie the second, but gurl ppl call you a r*cist support for a reason, at least be usable for 4.0 or 4.1 units please)

@Huouq3221 The reasoning for Phainon doesn't make any sense to me, because you lose access to everyone's ult anyways as he clears the entire party field besides himself once he gets his. Unless you mean the permanent ult state. From what I've seen of damage calculations, it's actually a beneficial DPS boost for him to not revert back (bc even if the buffs he recieves before ulting wear off, his damage multipliers make up for the time going back to build him up again), and E2 Cyrene is on one of his best teams now
